One of our favourite moments in The Barefoot Bandits Season 3 is this exchange between Dennis (Rhys Darby) and Jan (Melanie Bracewell).

It was so much fun adding Melanie to the cast of Bandits, we can't wait to see her character do a lot more in future episodes.

Casting the right person for the role of our lead character Quimbo was a mighty task. It's safe to say Cohen Holloway (Eagle Vs Shark, What We Do in the Shadows, Fresh Eggs) absolutely nailed it. Cohen gave Quimbo a perfect mix of warmth and silliness that surpassed our expectations.

Next week sees the launch of a really cool project we’ve been lucky to be a part of this past year. ‘Tales Of Nai Nai’ launches next week (Oct 7th) on HEIHEI and was brought to us by it’s creator/director and our buddy Becky Kuek. She’s very passionate about telling stories about the Chinese-Kiwi experience and we loved the idea and were more than keen to be involved in something showcasing a perspective that isn’t often seen on screen, especially here in New Zealand.

It's safe to say the Mukpuddy crew who worked on Nai Nai delivered above and beyond, adopting a slightly different style under the awesome art direction of Anna Lee, Rebecca Tan and Thaw Naing and animation team led by Mike Glasswell

Everybody has done an amazing job bringing this project to life and we can't wait for you all to check it out!

Here's a super fun behind the scenes clip from our Quimbo's Quest title theme song recording session with the uber talented Cohen Holloway (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows). This is the first time we'd written a theme song that needed to be sung by the lead character... so it was amazing to see Cohen absolutely nail it... eventually ;) 

 Also a big thanks to Karl Steven for lending his musical talents and pulling it all together.

So today's the day the entire first series of 'Quimbo's Quest' is available for kiwi's to finally watch. This is the show that saw us grow from 16 to a crew of 52 and complete 13 hours of animation in roughly 8 months. A crazy task but one we were ultimately up to, so please enjoy the product of last years hard work...
