Vashwood but they are a pop punk band duo
More info about the AU:
Their music sounds like Green Day, Arctic Monkeys and FoB fused together (if that makes sense)
Wolfwood was the one who started the band, he forcibly pulled Vash in to be the vocalist after most of his bandmates quit
Wolfwood can't sing at ALL and that was the main reason he pulled Vash in. (He smokes like 10 cig packs a day what do you expect)
Vash was extremely insecure at first (also bc he was unfamiliar with rock music) but slowly becomes more confident and builds a stage persona (as Vash the Stampede)
Their design and personalities are a mix of all 3 canons, but mostly maximum

characters who view themselves as tools/weapons first and people second... characters who martyr themselves for a cause because they think that's the only way they can be worth something... characters who push themselves past their breaking point again and again and again... characters for whom devotion and masochism are inseparable... characters whose self-sacrifice becomes self-annihilation...... what was my point again? i had a point. anyway.

i bought the goncharov poster immediately because even if this meme ends there will never ever be a period of time where having a poster for a Scorsese film that doesn’t exist won’t be funny. the idea of someone who has no idea about this tumblr movement coming over and seeing it and being like what the fuck? is that? is insanely funny to me as someone who loves lying. I am going to frame the poster and protect it like a newborn child. i want to have it placed so that whenever im on a work zoom call everyone can see it and wonder whwt the fuck it is. i love lying and drama.

Kurama mentioned Yashichi of Windmill and not Tuxedo Mask.
Tumblr media
“I’m Yashichi of Windmill” 「 風車の弥七かオレは 」. Source: Yu Yu Hakusho tankoubon volume 5 (March 5, 1992).
Kurama’s speech was actually referring to the famous ninja “Kazaguruma no Yashichi”. Kazagaruma (風車) means windmill or pinwheel. I kept “Yashichi of Windmill” as I’ve seen this translation in some merchandise.
Yashichi is a ninja from the longest-running Japanese period drama series “Mito Kōmon”. Just as Kurama did with his red rose, Yashichi makes his triumphal entrances by throwing a shuriken with a red pinwheel attached to it as his trademark.
Here is a small video from an episode of Mito Kōmon where Yashichi makes his entrance.

And here is the VIZ adaptation of Kurama’s line. I kind of understand why they changed the character to Tuxedo Mask. Sailor Moon was a very successful anime in the U.S. and perhaps hardly anyone in Western countries knows about Mito Komon and how renowned it is in Japan.
Just have in mind that Sailor Moon’s anime debuted on March 7, 1992. This specific YYH chapter is from volume 5 (March 5, 1992) but appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine weeks earlier. Even though Sailor Moon’s manga debuted earlier, Tuxedo Mask only throws roses in the anime version. Tuxedo Mask from the manga never cast a single a rose. It would have been an impossible reference after all.
