Hey, I happened to see your post about music and I really related to it!

Music has always been a huge part of my life. My family is very musical, but it went deeper for my sister and me. The stories that songs can tell are just so enthralling for me. I also like to make my own stories for songs, even if it's different from the intended one. When I discovered concept albums, I felt like an early human discovering fire lol

I wanted to ask if you could share some of your favorite musicians or albums! I realize that you said in the post that you tend to say popular ones when people ask, but maybe you'd make an exception for a fellow music lover? Lol

As a bit of a peace offering, there's this musician I love that maybe you'd enjoy as well! Her name is Agnes Obel, and her music is magical. Maybe try her Philharmonics album first, though all her music is great. It's not a concept album, but each song is wonderful.

If you have any favorite concept albums, you could share them too! I think my top one right now is Hawaii: Part II by Miracle Musical. Though, my story for the album is different from the intended one.

I actually grew up in a musical family. By that, I mean they loved music religiously. My parents even planned my birthday so it would match my mom’s favorite singer’s birthday, aka her teenage singer crush. Needless to say, my music taste has been deeply shaped by their CD collections and my aunt’s playlists. It honestly felt like my family was on a mission to raise us right, and that meant we had to know who the greats were.

I’ve actually listened to Agnes Obel. Broken Sleep, Fuel to Fire, and Familiar are forever favorites of mine.

Of course, I’d love to share some of my all-time favorite bodies of work. These are albums I feel could really resonate with whatever story you want to tell. I truly believe each story has its song.

Pre-Code Hollywood by Jonathan Bree is one hell of an album. I’m not great at describing genres and all that, but I can tell you this: it’ll make you feel eerie and nostalgic, but not in a typical way.

Saudade by Thievery Corporation. If I had to sum it up in two words: French Bossa Nova.

BetterOffDead by Flatbush ZOMBiES. It’s a rap album, but not your typical one. For me, it felt like reading a book. The lyricism is brilliant, and the flows make you want to burn things down. A true masterpiece.
