"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.

six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.

point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but it won't build you the the muscles.

Who am I?

I’m a 24 year old who just discovered (after 14 years of avid writing) that I want to be a writer for the rest of my life.

Where am I?

Geographically speaking, none of your concern. But I’m at the stage of life where it finally *clicked*. Ya’know? That ‘omg this is what I’ve been called to do in life’ sorta moments? And I’m ready to pursue writing head on.

Why am I?

I’ve written fanfic sagas in my teenhood, that met moderate success (for niche fandom standards — nothing major or life changing) and in my early 20s, I wrote 4 books of my own fiction. I’ve gone to school for 3 different things, animation, illustration, and art history. And while History was my first and I will always love drawing, it was the writing that held my passion. Writing essays, creating characters, drafting short stories, the writing process has always been my favorite part.

How am I?

I want to use this blog to exercise that creative writing bone in my body. Those 4 books I mentioned above, yeah, they’re still in the editing/rewriting phase. It’s a MASSIVE project that I’ve been working on since I was 18 years old, and I’m not stopping. But sometimes I get burned out on it, overwhelmed with the process. This blog is my safe haven to just work out any creative blocks, dump random ideas, and basically share my creative process. And hopefully one day, I’ll be ready to share the full project with the world.

What am I?

I’m a writer. And I write fiction. I make up stories and characters that I think most readers will enjoy. I craft worlds with words. I love what I do. You can expect to see fantasy, romantasy, genfic, some fanfic, poems, short stories, etc. Everything I create is original, inspired by what I consume. Good artists borrow, great artists steal. I also would like to get into drawing again by providing supplemental artwork to the stories I tell, so look out for that, too!

Over all, I’m just a person who enjoys writing. I hope I find the community for me, but for now, I’m shouting out into the ether, and that’s okay. I just need an outlet. I’m near bursting with creativity energy, and now that I’ve solidified that this is what I want to do, who I want to be, it all makes sense again.
