Not so friendly reminder that if you live a life where you can ignore politics you live a life of privilege.

For some of us, it tells us if we are safe with you. It tells us if our safety and rights are things you are willing to compromise on.

If you read this and think I'm targeting the side of politics you align yourself with, understand that you are subconsciously aware that it fits that demographic of people. And question how much you align yourself with it.

Because this post isn't about one side or the other. Both sides are willing to compromise on some people's rights.

It's about what we see you supporting. And your willingness to turn a blind eye to things.

*This isn't up for debate. This is a disabled queer person speaking for themselves and if you can't relate to the perspective that I am speaking from in the post, you can't understand what it's like. You can't understand how it feels to constantly question your safety because of something you have no choice in about yourself. And you should try to see things from another persepctive because you can learn a lot. *

Wings found at @earthboundtrading 🦋 Very comfy design but may be a little tight on the neck for some or irritating for people with sensory issues. As I do have sensory issues, I am going to remove the neck wrap and sew in a earth magnet (can find places like @harborfreight for about $3 for a pack of 6 I believe) in the area that the neck straps started. Then using a fabric I like the feel of, I will wrap 2 more magnets (they are small but oh so powerful) and then put it under whatever top/dress I am wearing to keep the wings in place. 🪡

Would anyone want to see a tutorial? As someone with sensory issues, I love finding ways to make things I love more sensory friendly.

So... we're heading for an era of extreme reactionary backlash.

The question is it going to be like 1980's style or 1930's style.

We shit on rainbow capitalism (as we should), but it is a good indicator of social acceptance of LGBTQ people. When brands are loud and proud about how much the support gay people('s money), it means the social conditions have moved in our favor and the potential backlash is weak.

Right now, the power is shifting back to the fascists. That's bad.
