I think I could share some basis 🤔

1) Ultra settings only!

2) SRWE – is your best friend if you want to take high quality screenshots. Without it in-game screenshots are pretty blurry on the distance 😔

3) HQ mod? You don’t actually need it, SRWE and ultra settings are enough (especially for maxis match and maxis mix style).

4) You totally need to check out better in-game lighting mod by northernsiberiawinds! It’s really awesome! Escpecially for outdoor screenshots 🌻

5) ReShade and GShade are your friends too! I regret I ignored it before 😅 For now I'm using GShade.

6) For making outdoors screenshots I normally put my sims in the shadow areas. The lighting there is less bright and more smooth. I add shadows in the scene by just putting random tree with tool by tmex.

7) For in-door screenshots I highly recommend to use the achino lamps (only recently discovered that they are free now). They also make lighting much smoother and cooler.

8) And don't hesitate to use diffents shadows, reflections for your sims to avoid adding them in photoshop or any editing program you use.

Sorry if you've answered this before but how do you get sims to look so clear? Even with the hq mod they look blurry or fuzzy in my screenshots, also can I know what gshade preset you use

ohhh okay, let me do a mini tutorial ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

to begin, i use hq mod & a custom reshade preset for everything but most of my cc previews. for those, i really like this one by meiiwballz ^^ for this tut, i will use antonio as example but the process is the same for every pic. once i have my sim all ready and posed, i'll take a reference shot of them for later (trust me, it comes in handy)

now, he is sitting in the dark. blurry, undefined, boy kisser. very sad. to fix this, we will use the reshade ! i also have relight to help mimic blender's lighting effects, that is what makes such nice shadows without the use of ingame lights (hence why toni is in the dark). now, let's turn it on

he is still a blurry boy kisser, but we'll get to that. at this step, i'll fix the lights so he isn't flashbanged. here is a very good relight explanation, my knowledge of it is not very great just yet (っ◞‸◟ c)

sometimes i will take another reference pic here, sometimes it's not that necessary. since this was just a casual selfie shot, the lighting did not need to be too exact for it to still look good ^^ now, the hard part.. SRWE. again, i'm still learning these things myself but this video helped me so much to get the basics. what you need to know is that it's the majority of how my sims look nice and clear, but it comes at the cost of seeing what you're taking a picture of ! that is why i have the references, so i can alt tab/hit windows key so i know the angle & position my relights are set for

from there, it's some trial & error ( ;´ - `;) because SRWE resizes your game window, the lights will also move and it's tedious to set them properly depending on how complicated the picture is. i think i'm improving slowly, but they are still not perfect ! after all of this, toni is finally a crisp and clear boy kisser

additionally, if i can't be bothered with relight i will use stp collection by achino. it's a series of ingame lights & shadows meant for photos, and they work very nicely after getting used to the functionality. the only downside is that they are visible, and need to be edited out of screenshots depending on where they're placed (i always like hard lights/shadows, meaning they need to be placed quite close to my sims TT) here's a couple examples:

and that's it ! it might be overcomplicated compared to just using blender/rendering properly, but i really don't like blender and i fear my computer would catch fire trying to run it anyway ✧ദ്ദി( ˶^ᗜ^˶ )

I've quit TS4 for several years. This post is to show access to my ts4cc in case someone needs it. Not my return to mod creation.

I happened to log in Tumblr and found that STP still works in game (the latest version maybe?) according to STP users' posts. That's amazing. I thought it already couldn't work in game cuz its latest version published in 2023, that's 2 years ago. But if it still works well, I plan to share them as anniversary gift.

I notice that many people still don't know STP and my other work has been free for several years. Hence I updated this pinned post. But it doesn't mean that I return to ts4cc creation. My real-life situation doesn't allow me to do so. Lack of time.

Sorry that my posts here /on Patreon may be messy / misleading because I don't have time to update all of them. If some are paradoxical and make no sense, please read the latest post.
