People can and will argue that AI-generated images can be and are worth as much as handmade art. No matter what the final product looks like, I think what I've realised is that I just don't care for it because of its origin. In the same way that I'm not going to appreciate a factory-made cake as much as one a friend makes by hand. Or a shirt bought online versus an article of clothing sewed by a family member. Even if the former might be higher quality and cheaper, I just... don't care.

Thinking about the story behind a piece of art is kind of portreyed as a hoity-toity art gallery thing, but it doesn't have to be. My favourite thing when looking at art is wondering about the intention behind the individual strokes or colours or graphics. That sounds like a bit of an exaggeration, but when an illustration really captures me, that's just what I'm drawn to doing. When I know what the artist wanted to portray in said art piece, it just gives more context behind the creation, giving more insight into those choices. If it's generated using AI, it's basically impossible to know what was a conscious choice by the user and what was arbitrarily decided by a database.

over the past year i've really noticed how scatter-brained i am in and outside of work. however, i am able to dedicate myself to some specific tasks, and when i'm in the zone, i'm really in the zone.

while part of me feels pressured to seek some kind of diagnosis, i also feel like learning myself and adapting my lifestyle to match my seemingly scrambled brain is a valid way to live.
