Did you know there’s a “sequel” book to Creature of Kapu Cave? A user on Reddit is currently reading it.
“The Nancy Drew graphic novel that's a sequel to The Creature of Kapu Cave
About a month ago, I posted a thread asking if any of the Nancy Drew books contained references to the games. Didn't receive much of a response, but as it turns out, the eighth Nancy Drew Girl Detective graphic novel included Dr. Malachi Craven from CRE as one of the suspects, with Nancy making several references to the events of the game. The culprit in the book even dresses up as Kane Okala at one point (referred to as Okala Kane instead)! I can't believe I never knew about this before (but then I never really got into this particular series). This should be talked about more!”

Imagine you’re at a pool party and I call you, international, from a pay phone, seven or eight times over the course of the afternoon to tell you things like “my car keys are missing” and “I just sheared a sheep”

Authentic Cajun Gumbo
There's nothing in the world quite like the architectural beauty and sun-drenched streets of the French Quarter -- unfortunately for us, it was raining for the majority of our trip, but that didn't stop us from eating up every second of our Louisiana vacay!
I picked up this recipe from a street vendor in New Orleans called Granny Punkin -- the jury's still out on whether or not that's a real name! -- and trust me when I say, it is DIVINE. My friend George doesn't even like gumbo, but any time I throw out this dish as a dinner option, she nearly jumps out of her skin with excitement.
Y'all.
It is so.
Freaking.
Good.
Don't ask me how I got the owner to relent the recipe to me -- I was sworn to secrecy, so don't let them know that I'm sharing it with you, okay? It's our little secret! But listen. Something THIS GOOD deserves to be known by the world over, so, you can thank me later. Preferably in Koko Kringle bars. 🍫
So what made Granny Punkin themselves decide to give away their world-famous secret recipe to little old me? Well, maybe it had something to do with my recent success in tracking down the mysterious skeleton man who appeared at my boyfriend's old college acquaintance's house. Wait, Nancy, you can't just say THAT and NOT tell the rest of the story!, you say.
Well, lucky for you, I love to tell it!
It all started on a dark and stormy night in New Orleans...
Can you imagine if Nancy wrote a recipe book with those long stories on how the recipe came to be?? Except to get to the recipe she just gives a rundown of the case she was working on that the recipe came from?
“In summary, the house was probably haunted or a lot of carbon monoxide was in the air. Anyways, here’s a recipe for the best Southern sweet tea you’ve ever had.”
Or:
“I was on a murder case in Florida when I had the best burger of my life. The body had been thrown down the stairs just like how the tomato was thrown on the beef patty.”
That would be unhinged.
