I’m back in Singapore from Australia for 3 weeks now and I’m flying off again very soon… I’ve caught up with whoever I could. For the rest of you, I will have to do it next time I’m back because I just don’t have enough time.
I’m really glad I got the time to clean my room, cleaned a bit of the house, settled some house stuff like re-contracting new house wifi plans etc. I met my Mom for lunch twice and renewed her passport too. I’ve settled my visa application as well. I’ve met up some of my relatives at my cousin’s baby 100 day old party. Her name is Kayler. I’ve also ate whatever I wanted to eat for the past 2.5 years away from my home country.
Doing all these really feel like as if I’m preparing to die… which feels weirdly nice because I put in effort to meet up and spend time with people. Especially my Mom. I went into JB with her yesterday even though I was exhausted halfway through. We bought a lot of kuehs and Chinese pastries.
Currently, I’m doing a back up of my laptop. I’m also consolidating all my hard disk, thumb drives and SD card properly because I have so many duplicates. As I chanced upon some photos and videos I can’t help but to reminisce those good old times.
I’ve been redeeming free games on Epic Games whenever I can remember. As I was redeeming it just now, I thought to myself when will I be free to finally sit down and play? I hope I won’t just die and not being able to enjoy any of them…
Ok. I hope I will udate again soon!

We’ve been in Australia for slightly over a month now… I miss NZ so much. The scenery, the people and how easy to get a job…
Will update soon again when I have time.

My Woes
I want to let whoever is reading this know that even though I've been overseas (in NZ) for a long time without the responsibility of a full-time job, it's not all sunshine and butterflies here.
Like everything else, we often only show the positive aspects online, right? I've mainly shared interesting and happy moments here.
I've learned so much during my Working Holiday Visa (WHV) and am grateful for the unique experiences, but the constant challenges of moving around, unpacking, packing, settling down, finding jobs and accommodations, researching things to do, and so on – it can be overwhelming. Just when you think you've got the hang of it, the next moment, you're packing up to leave again, and the cycle continues.

Underwear
Too much information, but I've been sewing up the holes in my underwear so often that I'm thinking about buying new ones. Thank goodness Sydney has a Muji store; I love their underwear. Once there's a hole, it just keeps tearing.

Slowing down
I've been making an effort to participate in real-life conversations and interactions and be less on my devices.
I've wanted to edit my videos and update this blog regularly, but I just don't have the time and energy to. I've been posting backlogs still. I plan to treat this page like Instagram stories, which I used to post very often. Instagram stories are only available for 24 hours therefore posting it here makes more sense.
We're currently WWOOFing at Alexandra. We work for about 4 hours in the morning and would find something to do around the host's place for a couple of hours before dinner at about 6.
I am currently catching up on shows like Stranger Things season 4 and True Beauty Korean drama. Other than shows, I am also spending some time doing road quiz/road code/driving theory test online.
https://drive.govt.nz/learner-licence/interactive-road-code
I hope to register and take the theory test in Queenstown when we leave Alexandra for Wanaka and be back there again for the driving test.

How to restore dry wraps

The seal broke which made the wraps dry out as they weren’t covered properly.
Sprinkle some water over and microwave them before consumption.

Upcoming shows to catch up
April (Timaru): Extraordinary Attorney Woo ✅ Since April: Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 5 (ongoing) May (Hawea): YOU season 4 ✅ May (Bendigo, freedom camp): Julie & Julia ✅ May (Queenstown): Physical 100 ✅ Currently (Alexandra): The Stranger Things Season 4 (ongoing)
Everything is nice. Physical 100 is good but skippable. I watched it on 2x speed 😅 Stranger Things is quite meh now, I'm watching it because I've watched so far into the series.

I’ve been posting my backlogs
Hello, just a quick update.
We’re currently at Alexandra, WWOOFing for a family’s apricot orchard. Autumn is ending soon and we’re here cleaning up the rows, clearing the branches to make bonfire and also for chipping.
It’s been great here so far! The food is good and the people here are exceptionally nice which made me comfortable initiating conversations.
We just watched a documentary film on Anthony Bourdain. It’s quite a good watch, I like the way it is edited.
Fiona, our host, said that it’s 7 degrees outside. She described it as semi tropical 😂 because its not supposed to be this warm at this time for the year especially at night.
Ok, I will continue with my backlogs and check in again in real time. Bye!

These are worth every penny

Everything Butter is more expensive because of the varieties of goodness in it. We got a good deal at The Warehouse!

Everything is good. If I have to choose, everything butter would be my favourite because of the crunchy texture.

Pâté

Ben loves it. I’m not a fan. When eaten on a cracker it taste a bit like ham but on it’s own, I could taste the metallic which I dislike 🫢

Our assortments of chill/hot sauces

I suggest keeping a bottle of sauce in the car because most take outs don't provide free sauce. Even if you paid for the sauce, the amount will just be pathetically small.
The left one is good for fried food and it’s a bit to the sweeter side. The middle taste a bit like tabasco and the right one is just fucking spicy 🥵

Shortcut congee making with frozen washed rice

Carrot, pumpkin and minced pork congee, using frozen washed rice, topped with garlic and onion oil. Yum. I will definitely try making congee with century egg! I miss it so much 🤤
