Ive been getting misgendered quite a lot lately which is unusual and also suck and like consciously i tell myself not to fuss over it because im at a stage in my transition where im used to it and im like oh well but subconsciously i can notice like considerable changes in my mood in days where im misgendered and days where I'm not and it sucks because theres not much i can do about it you know because its the other person's choice :(

so i had a few math courses this semester (i'm from physics facility btw, funny thing) and at this point i'm inclined to believe physicists and mathematicians are unable to stop working - not even in straightforward sense, it's just that you can see that they (more or less) like their job? and even if they appear bored/uninterested about their current lecture it's mostly because they've been talking about it for /yet/ another year and not much more because other stuff is "not in the course" (1/)
and that sucks, kinda? like ask a math or phys prof something Advanced and i guarantee they would feel joy and will gladly explain the topic to you. LONG STORY SHORT i believe that newmann profs would be like that, or at the very lest hermann, because talking about basic physics for over 20 years might get boring but there would always be those curious students that make his work so much more interesting and meaningful (2/2)
oh YES
i bet hermann would still get really excited when people ask him about his work during the war, too, even decades later, and he’ll just straight-up ignore his planned lecture and answer whatever questions ppl want. newt too actually (though i feel like newt typically ignores his own lecture plan regardless lol)
