!!! i am so late to this but this is so sweet <33 here's a few headcanons i have of them :)) they're pretty ooc but who cares i love them. - when it comes to dates, neither of them particularly care a whole lot about them. they're both fairly content with just spending the days side-by-side with each other, not doing anything particularly different from their normal routines. however, they do plan things for each other every once in a while. i feel L would notice that naomi is a bit of a hopeless romantic and plan dates accordingly. he'd be willing to find a fancy place and get a little dressed up just to see her giddy. i feel naomi would do the same, except in a different manner. she would quickly notice how L gets consumed and obsessive with his work, and then proceed to drag him off to a candy shop or something. - i am a firm believer of naomi being very similar to yotsuba light, which is why i think L and naomi would also bicker and fist-fight frequently (not as much as L and light, but close enough). they're capoeira buddies and they'll absolutely duel whenever they get bored. - if we put lawmassacre in a universe where raye penber is still alive, i feel like L would side-eye him frequently like a jealous little prick. i think L is a fairly jealous and petty guy. he will stand outside naomi's door in the pouring rain just to spit some emo shit about how raye isn't even that good-looking. wet sopping cat kinda guy. naomi hate-loves him for it. - also they're both switches and bisexual because i said so and i wanna see them peg each other.

The fact that some people think that Misa Amane from Death Note did nothing wrong or was somehow better than Light Yagami is very confusing to me. Some of you really calculate gender into your moral assessments. If genders were reversed, people would not be so eager to defend Misa Amane or overstate Light Yagami's moral transgression. I see this as a reflection of the prevalent view of morality as politeness and progressiveness, sometimes just in-group signifiers that seem relatable.

Reactions I have observed to Death Note characters seem to support this hypothesis. The main trio are all liars and manipulators and have committed crimes; they are all egotistical and willing to sacrifice other people's interests for the sake of their game. Arguably, Misa exhibits the least remorse or moral self-awareness out of the three, especially in the manga, where Light has a more significant mental breakdown after using the Death Note.

But Misa is an adorable, approachable goth girl, sweet and relatable. L Lawliet is a cute, soft baby because he's autistic and unthreatening, never mind the torture. I think in actuality the most offensive crime that Light Yagami commits in Death Note for a modern audience is being a misogynist and being unrelatable. More people would side with Kira's cause if contemplative and quiet L were the one wielding the Death Note instead of Light, who is unapologetically arrogant. You know, the worst thing a person can be.

Something concerning I've seen going around the lawlight fandom is this idea that lawlight is only good when it is extremely volatile and fucked up because that's how it is in canon.

This has two problems for me.

Canon is not that fucked up. Yes, people die in it. Yes, L and Light go through some crazy mind games. But you have to remember: Death Note is shonen. It's Shonen Jump. It was being released in by the same manga producing company that gave you Naruto, My Hero, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Yes, it's a bit darker than those series, but at the end of the day, Death Note was being featured in a magazine meant for twelve year olds and the maturity level reflects that.

There's a lot of comedy in Death Note, too. It's disregarding the actual amount of quote-unquote fluff in Death Note to ignore that. Yes, L and Light try to kill each other. But also, may I remind you that this is also the same duo that brought you "Yes that will be dark." followed immediately by "Cut it out!"? There's a lot of lighthearted to be found in Lawlight, and I think it's strange this aspect of canon material is disregarded.

i'm genuinely so pissed about the music in itadori's breakdown. this is the one time i will not be nice about a take because genuinely it takes away so much from that scene and it disappoints me so fucking much.

the whole point of that scene is itadori realizing how much is dead. his friends are dead. the city is dead. and it's his fault. it isn't his fault, but it might as well be, right? it was his vessel. it was his hands. the last thing his friends saw was his body choking out theirs. he wasn't strong enough. it must be his fault. the city is dead and it's his fault.

it should've been dead silent. his screaming should've echoed and there should've been no response. that's what the fucking scene is about. SO WHYARE YOU STICKING THE STUPID INTRO IN BETWEEN THAT GGAAAAAAHHGDH. AND IT ESPECIALLY PISSES ME OFF BECAUSE THERE ARE A DOZEN OTHER DEAD SILENT SCENES IN SEASON 2 THAT ARE EXECUTED SO WELL????

IF THIS SCENE WAS DEAD SILENT IT WOULD HAVE PARALLELED ALL THOSE OTHER SILENCES. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THEIR CLIMAX. IT WOULD'VE BEEN THE FINAL SILENT FUNERAL TO ALL THAT THEY'VE LOST. ANDIT PISSES ME OFF THAT THEY STUCK IN THE STUPID INTRO MUSIC.

i've seen a few comments saying it's supposed to be how sukuna is mocking him, which is a great idea but if that's the intention even that isn't executed well. when watching the scene, you don't immediately think "ouh this is sukuna mocking yuji" you think "why are they putting music over this guy's most emotional moment." IT TAKES YOU OUT OF THE SCENE AND DOESN'T EVEN LAND THE PUNCH IT SUPPOSEDLY INTENDS. THAT'S JUST SHITTY EXECUTION. IF THEY WANTED IT TO BE ABOUT SUKUNA'S MOCKERY THEN YOU WOULD DO IT AFTER YUJI'S SCREAMING. YOU WOULD REPLACE "you are my special" WITH A LINE FROM SUKUNA AND THENNNNN YOU WOULD PUT IN THE MUSIC. BECAUSE THE MUSIC IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT THAT WAS AT THE WORST FUCKING TIME AND FDAMNIT THE ONLY REASON IM YELLING ABOUT THIS IS BECAUSE I KNOW THEY COULD'VE MADE IT SO MUCH BETTER. BECAUSE IT'S A DAMN GOOD SHOW. THEY JUST HAVE THAT ONE STUPID SCENE AT THE MOST DEVASTATING CLIMAX.

recently been going insanely feral with @dragonkittyipod / @gl6mp about a lawlight mormon AU so i'm inflicting it onto everyone on tumblr too. ouhhhgggg how i love projecting and having free will.

now here's a few headcanons that we have made up about these idiots. i'm kind of obsessed with them now:

LIGHT / ELDER YAGAMI: - Light is waaayyyyy into the Bible. Like he Really Likes it, genuinely. That thing runs his world. Please ask him questions about it, he has them memorized. He's The Mormon Ever and he is very proud of it. - Light goes on his mission and gets sent to England and boy does he have the worst time. His English isn't as perfect as he'd like and the transportation is horrible and what the fuck in the world is this food. It's okay though guys this is just another part of God's plan he's okay. - Light prays at least once every hour. No he does not have OCD, why do you ask? - He probably says his guilty pleasure is ironing all his clothes. - He's ssoooo good at keeping his mind pure. He's never thought about "skank girls" once in his life. No don't ask him about the one time he stumbled on a gay porn ad, he repented already. - Soichiro is the bishop of his church back home, but nono he's a good guy who would never fall into the "bishop's son" stereotype. His sister on the other hand is a little concerning but that's okay he's working on saving her don't worry.

L / BROTHER LAWLIET: - L came to the church once out of curiosity and somehow got registered into their system so now apparently he's counted as an "inactive member" who's got these random twinks banging on his door every few weeks. - However one twink in particular is very convincing. - That's kind of the only reason why he's here again. - L's new goal in life is deadset on corrupting this twink. If God is real then he'll let him bang this twink on the pew. - L keeps making innuendos but Light does Not understand them whatsoever nor take Any hints. At this point L is severely worried about how sheltered this guy is. He didn't even understand a Spongebob reference. - It'll hurt his dignity but he's willing to try the soaking method if that's what it takes to get a taste of this guy. - Please just one chance with this fucked up twink just once God
