Athrun Zala my beloved, why did you make so many stupid ass decisions in Destiny

Things I would change:

Athrun would stay in Orb with Cagalli, kick Yuna's ass, and marry her after putting a ring on it.

Shinn's initial rage would be the same, but he would go through an actual character arc where he realizes that neither Cagalli nor Kira are his true enemy, but war itself.

No Slut Era for Athrun. He's a married man now.

Shinn, however, can have a Slut Era. As a treat.

Kira wouldn't rejoin the war and become OP God Gary Stu.

Athrun and Kira would work together with Orb, which remains a neutral nation, to tell ZAFT and the Earth Federation that they're all a bunch of stupid bootyheads. Orb would become a third power but maintain their stance on not joining either side.

The Athrun, Yzak, and Dearka scene where they go visit Nicol's grave would be the same but instead of Athrun wanting to rejoin ZAFT he asks Yzak and Dearka to join Orb or at least be his insiders to ZAFT's bs.

The Meer Campbell thing would remain the same but she and Lacus meet and become besties, totally foiling Durandal's weird ass & totally batshit plan. Like seriously how did he think that would actually work.

Lacus and Cagalli girlboss while their husbands/bodyguards are super proud of them. Seriously the Princess of PLANT and Princess of Orb are fucking POWERHOUSES.

Cagalli would still have bigger balls than any man in the Orb Union and would NOT let the Seirans run that shit. She would kick them right the fuck out and run her nation as a baddie.

Shinn and Stella would still be a cute chaotic enemies to lovers romance

Meyrin would Stay In Her Fucking Lane (like seriously wtf????)

Luna and Shinn and Stella love triangle. The only one allowed because I said so.

Rey like "go best friend that's my best friend!"

Shinn would actually be a powerhouse instead of puppet and go the Athrun route in SEED where he realizes Durandal is a lil bitch.

Neo aka Mwu would resolve in like two days because Murrue would simply bitchslap him and he'd go "Oh shit you're right I'm Mwu la Flaga not Rau le Crueset Jr 2.0".

They would also get married and live happily ever after.

Andy would be their third jsyk. We love a poly throuple in this house.

Instead of adding more nuclear weapons the war would end after Durandal and the Earth Fed leaders are assassinated (by Athrun and Kira) and Orb would mediate a peace treaty between the PLANTs and Earth.

The druggie kids would get therapy and go through rehab. None of them die.

The clones plot line would absolutely not be a thing. You stop that.

Yzak would become the new PLANTs leader and Dearka his bestie second-in-command.

Kira, Lacus, Athrun, and Cagalli would all raise the orphans together in peace. Meer would be their aunty. Shinn and Stella/Luna would come babysit. Yzak and Dearka would also babysit. One big happy family.

*the writers were in a war with each other & intentionally wrote the characters to be dumbasses out of spite for each other (I'm trying to find the interview/source I originally had for this info but that's the gist of it)
