Announcing the New Jersey Quidditch Contract

New Jersey State Quidditch community is proud to be the first state in USQ to have a uniformed contract for every New Jersey team. This contract was drafted after the rumors and reports of the sexual assaults at World Cup last April. In response, New Jersey drafted a contract covering four points that we believe to be important to keeping our community safe. The contract covers discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other offensive conduct such as physical assault and aggressive language. New Jersey players that are accused of violating this contract will have to present themselves in front of the New Jersey leaders, which includes a representative from each team. If a player is found to have committed any of these offenses, punishments will be put into effect. Players can be suspended from a game, a tournament, or removed from their team. In extreme cases, the player can be banned from attending any event run in or by New Jersey.

For the first annual New Jersey awards, the Individual Player Award for Best Seeker in New Jersey goes to the Brendan Clonan. 

Brendan founded the Montclair Quidditch Team and will be playing with them in the upcoming season.

For the first annual New Jersey awards, the Individual Player Award for Best Chasers in New Jersey goes to the Quran Kelly-Battle (top), Nicole Economu (middle), and Chisa Egbelu (bottom) . 

Both Quran and Chisa play for Rutgers, while Nicole plays for the Horn Tailed Horcruxes.

Phill Cain Rutgers University Quidditch Team, Chaser / Seeker

Phill Cain is a chaser / seeker who began playing for Rutgers University Quidditch team this year. Coming from a soccer background, with talents in skiing, snowboarding, capoerira, and ballroom dancing, it’s no wonder that Phill was able to adapt to the fast paced athleticism necessary for a quidditch player. Phill began playing quidditch in high school, but upon reaching college he began to take the games more seriously.

Cain was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and lived there for eight years before coming to the United States. Phill is also in a band, where he plays guitar and sings.

The cheer is led by Rutgers captain and NJ MVP, Chisa Egbelu.
