a/n: making a drabble cause iâve been writing way too much and not posting enough. give me some ideas pls iâm in writers blockkk (clingy rin <33)
âiâm home!â you called out as you walked through the doorway, back from a tiring business trip. it was then when you saw rin on the couch, rewatching some game footage. he quickly paused it and hugged you tightly. âhi, rinâ is that my hoodie?â you raised an eyebrow and smirked when you saw what he was wearing. there was no denying it, it was one of your favorite hoodies, one of the ones you wore often.
ânoâŠitâs uhâŠâ he tried defending himself. rin tried to turn away from you and hide it, like thatâd do anything. you decided to tease him a bit, âyou really missed me that bad? you couldâve just called me yâknow?â you made a fake thinking face. âwhat? i didnât miss you or anythingâŠâ he mumbled. you looked down at him and made a fake pout, "aw, you're ignoring me now? cmon, don't you wanna look at your sweet boyfriend whose been away for so long?" rin just stood there, looking flushed. you teased him for another solid 5 or so minutes before he said something.
"you're being mean, n/n." rin muttered at a barely audible level. "hm? i didn't quite catch thatâ" you got cut off, "i said you're being mean!" he said in a louder tone, sounding upset. rin moved away from you and took off the hoodie, "here take it! i don't even want it that bad!" then, he threw it in your face and walked away. "waitâ seriously rin? i was just joking you can have it back!" you tried calling out to him, but to no avail.
all day after that he ignored you. you seriously didnât make him that mad, did you? honestly, you assumed that heâd just cling to you all day like normal. you loved how you could make a stoic guy like rin so soft and cuddly.
you were in your room on your phone when he came in. âoh? whatâs this?â you asked while smirking, âiâm just getting another hoodie.â he tried to sound cold, but it was far from it. âdid i really make you mad? iâm sorryâ he didnât acknowledge what you said and dug through your closet to find another hoodie. you sighed and walked up to him before hugging his waist from behind.
âiâm sorry, rinâŠi was only playing with you.â you mumbled into his ear and left soft kisses along his neck. you saw some redness on his cheeks and you knew you were getting to him. âiâll make it up to youâŠâ you only got a small âhmphâ from him. there was a moment of silence before rin broke it, ââŠi really missed you,â rin grumbled, âyou were gone for so long so i took one of your hoodies.â you were surprised he admitted it so easily.
you chuckled, âthere a reason you took my hoodie specifically?â you asked with a slight teasing tone. âthey smell like you,â rinâs face was flushed, âuhmâŠiâm not that mad, okay? i just didnât want to say that i missed you.â he admitted again. you let go of him and smiled, âreally? i missed you too, rin.â he turned around to look at you, âwhyd you let go?â rin looked really poutyâŠit made you really wonder if he was the tough guy he normally was with others.
âhm?â you could barely react before he hugged you, way tighter than normal. rin looked like he snatched your favorite hoodie and slipped it on already. âyouâre so clingy, but i still love you for itâŠâ you sighed.
all night after that, he clung to you like a baby. you two were cuddling in bed, rin practically being on top of you, it was almost as if he was trying to prevent you from moving. like thatâd ever happen. you closed your eyes before he said one last thing, âdonât be gone for so long again, stupid jerk.â he said under his breath. âiâll try.â you gently laughed, âi hate when you leave me for so longâŠâ rin gave you a squeeze, âi hate when i leave you for too long tooâ a soft smile played on your lips, âi love you, and goodnight, rin.â you looked at his pretty face, you couldnât help but admire his eyes, his eyelashes, everything about him was perfect to you, âi love you too, meanie.â

pairing(s): kunigami rensuke x shy!male reader
summary: you and kunigami get paired up for a school project, only problem was, you had a big crush on him.
warnings: none!
word count: 3.9k
a/n: ofc! thanks for the ask! iâll do my best. this is so bad plus i don't rlly know his personality that great so this is probably ooc. sorry it took so long! i had school and other things to work on (btw this is so rushed i wrote this in like 2 days...)
you tapped your foot anxiously on the ground. you had to work in pairs for a projectâŠhonestly, youâd rather work alone, but the teacher already said no. you were hoping you got someone good. yet, luck seemed to have other plans as your name was heard alongside kunigami's, the guy you had the biggest crush on.
âokay, just donât stutterâŠact nervousâŠoh what the hell im gonna do both of those things!â you thought. you were panicking in your seat when you saw him walk over to you. well, his build was certainly bigger up close. you studied his physique, itâd probably be pretty nice to draw. he was certainly way more attractive up close. you were lost in your thoughts when you heard a voice.
âhey, l/n, you good?â you snapped out of your thoughts "uh, y-yeah, I guess⊠I mean, let's just start, right?" you said, your voice quavering. you seriously couldnât focus at all. it was horrible! how would you pass this stupid class if you kept staring at him? you forced yourself to stop and finally do your work.
you talked a bit stiffly, but you couldn't help it. you could tell kunigami was trying to make a bit of conversation, but it often led to an awkward nod or "yeah" from you. you were typing on your laptop, researching for the project when you head your name.
"mind if i ask you something, l/n?" kunigami looked straight in your eyes. the eye contact almost made you sweat a bit and you tried looking everywhere but him. "y-yeah...go ahead." you said sheepishly. "do you not like me? you seem a bit distant." a small frown tugged at his lips. you felt a knot form in your stomach as kunigami's question hung in the air, lingering like a heavy cloud. his auburn eyes stared into yours. "no, it's not that I don't like you," you replied hastily, your words stumbling over eachother. "i mean, you're a great partner and all. it's justâŠuhmâŠnevermind."
you busied yourself with your laptop, pretending to focus on the project while desperately trying to avoid kunigami's penetrating gaze. but despite your efforts to push him away, you couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt that gnawed at your conscience. kunigami sighed, but you could feel his expression softening. "itâs fine if you donât want to say anything," he said gently, his voice was reassuring. "didn't mean to put you on the spot or anything, just making sure things are cool with us." you nodded, glad that he didn't outright hate you.
you continued working on the project, there was a lingering tension in the air. but something about it felt different, it was intense yet comforting at the same time. you couldn't help but steal a quick few glances at him. you noticed the way he furrowed his eyebrows in concentration as he typed on his own laptop. his hands swiftly navigating the keyboard. but you quickly realized you'd been staring too long and looked away, a blush tinting your cheeks.
the afternoon sun cast a golden hue over the familiar path you took home every day, but today, something felt different. as you prepared to make your way home, a voice broke through the ambient noise, pulling you from your thoughts. turning around, you were met with the sight of kunigami jogging towards you, his features softened by a small smile that seemed to light up his face.
"hey, l/n," his voice, calm and inviting, reached your ears, surprising you with its warmth. "mind if I walk you home?" his words hung in the air, unexpected yet strangely welcomed, sending a flutter of anticipation through you. your cheeks flushed with warmth at the unexpected offer, caught off guard by kunigami's gesture. after a brief moment of hesitation, you nodded, a mix of nerves and curiosity bubbling up inside you.
with each step, the world around you seemed to fade into the background, leaving only the gentle rustle of leaves overhead and the rhythmic sound of your footsteps. the occasional brush of your arms sent a thrill down your spine. you stole glances at kunigami, wanting to bridge the silence with conversation but finding yourself at a loss for words.
eventually, you couldn't contain the restless thoughts swirling in your mind any longer. fidgeting with your hands, you finally broke the silence with a hesitant apology. "uh...sorry if i seemed distant. i just get nervous pretty quickly..." your words hung in the air, tinged with uncertainty. kunigami's response was reassuring, his understanding demeanor easing the tension that had coiled in your chest. "it's no worries, i totally understand," he reassured, his voice a soothing balm to your nerves. "but just so you know, you don't have to feel nervous around me. we're partners, right? and⊠friends, maybe?" his words held some hope, a glimmer of possibility that stirred something within you.
with a small smile, you nodded in agreement, the weight of his offer settling comfortably in your heart. "yeah, friends," you replied with a soft smile. the conversation flowed effortlessly between you. before you knew it, you had reached your doorstep, the realization of parting bringing a twinge of reluctance.
"i'll give you my number if you want to work on the project together or even hang out," he offered, blinking in surprise, you processed his offer before accepting with a nod of gratitude. "what? uh, yeah! sure..." your voice trailed off, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you handed him your phone, eager to exchange contact information.
as kunigami inputted his number into your phone, you couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling up inside you. with a final wave goodbye, he disappeared down the path, leaving you alone with your thoughts and the screen displaying his contact details. you sunk onto the couch, you stared at the screen for what felt like an eternity, the weight of possibility settling over you like a comforting blanket. it was like a dream.
the next day had a more comfortable atmosphere. you found yourself working really well with him. you tried not to show that you were still giddy from getting his number. it was like a dream. you totally scored! âdid you find anything for slide 5?â you asked, trying to ease your mind, âuh, not yet. iâll get on it after i finish this real quick.â
you continued working on the project, every now and then, you took quick glances at kunigami, who seemed engrossed in his own task. kunigami would ask for your input on certain aspects, and you found yourself opening up more, expressing your ideas and thoughts. you admired him, not just for his intellect and dedication to the project, but also for his patience and understanding towards you.
eventually, as the class drew to a close, you both managed to finish a good amount of the project. with a sigh of relief, you leaned back in your chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over you. kunigami turned towards you with a smile, a genuine one that reached his eyes. "thanks for your help, l/n. i don't think i could've done it without you," he said sincerely, breaking the tension that had been lingering between you two. you couldn't help but return his smile, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders. "no problem, kunigami. we make a pretty good team," you replied, genuinely meaning it.
you left the class satisfied with the work you completed. you thought about what you'd do next. as you left the class, the weight of the day's interactions lingered in your mind. you couldn't deny the chemistry you had with kunigami, despite the initial awkwardness, there was an ease when you two interacted. you walked down the hallway, lost in thought, you heard someone calling your name. turning around, you saw kunigami walking up to you, a friendly look on his face.
"hey, l/n, wait up!" he called out, his voice carrying over the bustling noise of the hallway. you slowed your pace, waiting for him to catch up. "hey, kunigami," you greeted, "what's up?" he walked beside you, hands in his pockets. "just thinking. the deadline for the project is pretty near and we might not finish it by then, you mind grabbing some coffee or something and working there?" you could barely contain your excitement. "yeah, sounds good. this weekend sound good?" he nodded before saying "great, i know a good café nearby that we can go to."
the weekend came by quicker than you expected and the deadline was wednesday. you put on a casual outfit and started to go to the café's address. you nervously adjusted the strap of your bag and kept checking it if you forgot anything. soon, you found yourself standing outside the café, kunigami already there. "glad you could make it, l/n" he greeted, "let's get started, hm?" you nodded before you two settled in a cozy corner booth.
the two of you wasted no time getting started. only after a few minutes papers and other things were sprawled all over the table and you two were locked in. you saw how he was always intensely focused whenever he worked on things. you admired it. the way he always did things so effortlessly...he definitely wasn't some jock, that's what. you told yourself that over and over again, it made you feel slightly guilty of your initial thought of him. you shook those thoughts out of your head though as you had to focus on the project. you couldn't let him do all the work, could you?
soon hours passed by, but they seemed like mere minutes when you were with him. kunigami made time pass by fast, and you two finished a good chunk of work. sure, there was a lot more to do, but it was still a decent amount. you laughed at his jokes, sure, they were a bit corny, nonetheless they still made you chuckle. you found yourself opening up to him slowly, you talked about small bits of your childhood, some stories, your family. he seemed to actually enjoy listening to you too. he shared some things about him as well. things seemed to be easing up between you and kunigami, and it felt nice. yet, you two had to go home at some point. so you waved goodbye and made your way back home.
all night you thought about your day, but it was mostly about kunigami. it made you a bit frustrated on how much you unwillingly thought about him. it was like he haunted your every waking. you thought about his smile, his personality, how he looked, pretty much every aspect of him. it kept you up at night. you really tried to stop it but you were unable to. that didn't stop you from acting like a middle school girl with a crush though. honestly, it was kinda pathetic.
you were helping one of the teachers when you spotted him. there he was. kunigami and his circle of friends. he seemed to radiate, in a sense, it drew your attention like a magnet. you caught his eye for a brief moment, and he flashed you a warm smile, causing your heart to flutter rapidly. you quickly averted your gaze, feeling a blush that you couldnt hide creep up your cheeks. what was happening to you? why were you so affected by his simple gesture? you shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts, and focused on grabbing the stuff out of your locker.
with a sigh, you closed your locker and headed to your next class. you remembered that you needed to work on the art and drawings of the physical part of the assignment. the presentation was nearly done, you only had to work on the tri-fold. you were more than happy to do them, but presenting them was a different story. you were sketching the drawings on a piece of paper, but none of them felt right. you were about to scrap what felt like the 100th drawing when kunigami sat next to you. "something wrong? you look a bit stressed" he asked as he looked at you with concern.
"it's just...i can't seem to get these drawings right." you looked down at the paper with a slight frown, "how about you try drawing a different angle of it? the proportions seem a bit off when drawn like this." he suggested, leaning in to get a better look. the proximity made your heart race, you could faintly smell his shampoo, a fresh, citrusy scent lingered in the air. "uh...yeah. maybe that's what i need..." you replied, unable to focus on anything but how close you were.
with his help, you managed to create a set of drawings that you both were satisfied by. "you're amazing, l/n! they're really great." he said in awe as he looked at the drawings. "you think so?" you felt a bit shy from the compliment, "of course i do, you're super talented." kunigami replied genuinely. the praise made a wave of euphoria rush through you and you felt a sense of pride in your work. for the rest of the class, you two goofed off. since there was little left to finish you two had the freedom to. "hey, how about tomorrow we meet up in the library after school? we can make final alterations there." he recommended. "sounds great.
the next day came by quicker than you thought, you practically spent the whole day trying to avoid him, but it seemed like fate had other plans. you walked into the library, looking around until you spotted him. kunigami was already waiting for you. "great, you're here. let's make the finishing touches, shall we?" he greeted, and gestured for you to take the seat in front of him. you nodded and settled yourself into the seat, hoping everything was perfect.
you were fixing up the drawings on the tri-fold when a thought crossed your mind. what if everyone made fun of you? what if they hated the drawings? you started doubting your abilities as you stared at the drawings.. you were fidgeting with your hands before kunigami said something, âyou nervous?â he asked, you nodded in return, âiâm sure youâll be fine, donât sweat it.â kunigami beamed before patting your back reassuringly. a light tint of pink dusted your face, but you ignored it.
every time he glanced at you, your stomach did flips. you often looked at kunigami out of the corner of your eye when you thought he wasn't looking, studying the curve of his jawline, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled. it was like noticing the details of a masterpiece for the first time, and you couldn't tear your gaze away. to you, kunigami felt like a muse, an abstract piece that you couldn't understand at first glance. you needed to know more.
"kunigami?" your voice squeaked a bit. he turned to you signaling he was paying attention. "you think....we're gonna do good?'" kunigami's gaze softened as he met your eyes, a reassuring smile playing on his lips. "absolutely, l/n," he replied, his voice filled with confidence. "we've put in a lot of hard work and dedication into this project. i have no doubt that we're going to do great." you looked hesitant for a moment before nodding, "âŠyeah, we'll do great." you seemed to be reassuring yourself more than him.
the presentation day approached way too fast for your liking. the night before, you barely got a wink of sleep thinking about presenting. it was horrible. when you arrived at school, it didn't get any better. you felt jittery and on edge. you checked your bag, adjusted the strap, checked the time. you tried running lines in your head but everything went blank. not good, so not good. what if you two got a bad grade? and it was because of you? all these thoughts rushed to your head. a knot formed in your stomach and you felt sick.
you walked to class each step your heart pounded in your ears louder and louder. the weight on your shoulders felt heavy. you opened the door, your hands shaking. you saw kunigami in the classroom. he waved you over, but he seemed to realize something was wrong. "something wrong? are you feeling nervous?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. "it's justâ i don't know...i can't help it." you admitted, unable to meet his eye. "even if we did do all of this hard work, i just can't seem to control my nerves..." you sighed in defeat. your mouth felt dry and there was a lump in your throat.
you kept looking at the ground until you felt his hands on your shoulders. kunigami's touch was surprisingly comforting, his warm hands grounding you in the moment. "it's okay to feel nervous," he reassured softly, his voice a soothing melody amidst the chaos of your thoughts. "but remember, we've prepared for this. we've worked hard together, and whatever happens, we'll face it together, alright?" something about his voice drew you to look up at him. and it gave you the tiniest, smallest bit of confidence that you needed. "...right,"
"thanks for helping meâ" it was then when you snapped out of your thoughts and you realized he was still holding your shoulders. still stupidly close. that familiar scent of citrus filled your senses. you took a moment to gather your thoughts, time felt like it stood still. the world around you faded into the background as you locked eyes with him. you admired his features for what? the hundredth time? he seemed to realize that he was still holding your shoulders too, as he let go with a faint reddish hue to his face.
"yeah, it's nothing." kunigami said as he averted your gaze. you two gathered your composure and sat down, you couldn't shake off that warm feel of his hands though. that was quickly interrupted though as the teacher randomly called a random pair to present. someone was testing you, because it had to be your pair. you cursed under your breath and stood up shakily, slowly walking to the front with presentation in hand.
you looked at everyone, their gazes fixed on you. you felt their eyes stare into your very existence, waiting for you to say something and mess up. you glanced at kunigami, he was already looking at you. he made a 'go on, i believe in you' face. you gulped and decided to suck it up.
your voice started off shaky, but it slowly turned out to be steady as you continued. you found a rhythm that worked and you spoke more loudly and confidently. soon, kunigami chimed in and took it from there temporarily. the hours spent researching and working on this project really paid off, as the class seemed interested in what you had to say. the teacher made a few satisfying looks as she typed on her laptop, writing notes and grading.
after a lot of talking and questions, you were done with the presentation. you stood there a bit shocked when everyone clapped for you and made small, positive comments. you exchanged looks at kunigami and he seemed proud. "you did great, i told you you could do it," he nudged you. "...yeah. sorry for ever doubting us." you said lightheartedly.
you two made it back to your seats, after a bit of hesitation and thinking you said something, "hey, do you...want to meet in the library after school friday?" you whispered to him, not wanting to get into trouble. "oh? what for? we got another presentation?" he asked jokingly. "no, it's something else," you chuckled, "just...to hangout, and uh, stuff." you tried making an excuse. really, you wanted to spend time with him. maybe even confess your feelings, but you weren't quite ready to admit that yet. kunigami's expression softened into a warm smile, and he nodded eagerly. "yeah, that sounds great. i'd love to hang out," he replied, his eyes sparkling with genuine enthusiasm. "let me know the time, and i'll be there."
maybe this was your chance to get to know him better outside of school. "awesome, i'll text you the details later," you said, trying to play it cool. as the day went on, you couldn't shake off the feeling of excitement from the successful presentation and kunigami's agreement to hang out. the thought of spending more time with him made your heart flutter. you found it hard to concentrate on your other classes, your mind wandering to what your hangout could result in.
friday came, and you waited in the library for kunigami. you were stuck thinking if you were actually going to confess or not. you were probably going to make a complete fool out of yourself, but something in you nagged that you always ran away from things. maybe you should go through with this, just say it, as simple as that...but you were totally panicking. if he said yes, it would be totally awesome, but if he said no, you'd actually never show your face at school again. so you were stuck, then a genius idea came to mind. flip a coin. yeah, that would decide what would happen.
'heads for yes, tails for no' you said to yourself. you kinda hoped it would be tails, but luck seemed to hate you and you got heads. 'oh screw it, what's the worst that can happen?' you thought. you were zoned out when you saw a familiar sight of orange walking in. "sorry i'm late, i had some things to do" kunigami rubbed the back of his head. "no worries i just got here anyways..." you fidgeted with your hands. he took the seat in front of you. and for a bit, you talked casually, until you decided to spill it out.
your heart raced as you summoned the courage to speak the words that had been weighing heavily on your mind. "kunigami?" you began, "yeah?" he responded, turning his attention to you with a curious expression. "i know this is kinda random, butâŠ" you trailed off, feeling a flush creeping up your neck. "but i like you, i thinkâ" you mumbled "no, i know i like you...you're like really cool, and nice, and it's kinda likeâ i don't know..." you sighed, your words sounded like nonsense.
"please just wait for me...until i can actually say it without justâ just messing up so much" you continued, squeezing your eyes shut. your face felt hot and you didn't know what to say anymore until you felt a familiar warmth on your hands. the feeling making your eyes open to look at him.
he had the same expression as always. yet, he looked a bit awkward, "sorry if i seem uncomfortable, i can't take compliments that well, it's not your fault." he chuckled nervously as he rubbed circles on your hand, "but really, it's fine. i'll wait for you, for however long you need," kunigami paused, "what i'm saying is, i like you too." you stared at him, shocked. "really?" your voice was barely above a whisper. "yeah. so, confess to me again when you're ready, alright?" it all felt like a dream to you, was this real? "alright" you said, this time more confident.

pairing(s): oblivious!itoshi sae x flirty!male reader
summary: you are giving one too many hints that you like sae, but he gets none of them and assumes you two are a bit too close for friends. you decide to take matters into your own hands and be his secret admirer
warnings: none!
word count: 4.5k
a/n: thanks for the support on my last post i love you guys!! itâs like one of my biggest headcanons that sae is oblivious to things such as romance cuz the only thing he canonically knows abt is football đ. i had no idea what to write for the notes so...yeah. also, i didn't intend for it to be so long, i just kept writing. anyways enjoy this mess of a fic! <3 (not proof read)
you sat in class, leaning on your right hand, thinking and a bit annoyed. how hasnât sae taken the hint? you donât just flirt with your friends, dammit! you probably couldnât even ask him out cause heâd just assume you were joking. you donât ask friends out as a joke either do you? friendsâŠthat word left a bad taste in your mouth. you were so blatantly obvious, but he couldnât take the hint? you started thinking of plans that might work. then you settled on one. be sae's secret admirer, then reveal who you are! the more you thought about it, the more the plan seemed like a good idea. it was around a week from his birthday too, maybe that'd be your gift to him, a new boyfriend. you grinned in excitement, this was gonna be fun!
after you got home, you decided to write him a note and put it in his locker. you changed your handwriting while you were writing the note, not wanting him to discover who it was immediately. it was pretty simple, but kinda (very) directed at his obliviousness, but it was nothing out of his comfort zone. the note read "i think you're pretty cute, but you can't take a hint. maybe start paying attention to how others act around you!". you wondered if your plan would work, but only time will tell.
the next day you arrived early and put the note in his locker. you hoped that he wouldnât throw it out like the other love letters and confessions he got. your prayers were answered though, as during lunch, when you were sitting at your guysâ desks, he said something. âi got a note in my locker today,â he said bluntly. âyeah?â you grinned, âand you didnât throw it out?â you silently celebrated. âno, something about it was different.â he gave you the note and crossed his arms before leaning them on the table. âwhat did she mean by âstart paying attention to how others act around youâ?â his eyebrows furrowed in curiousity. âshe, huh? you think itâs a girl?â you looked in his eyes. âare you implying itâs not?â sae raised an eyebrow. âjust saying, ya never knowâ you smiled.
you stared at the note a bit longer. âkinda funny how they say youâre cute but then say youâre oblivious,â you chuckled, âcanât blame âemâ you flirted, but the tone was quite subtle. âwhatâs that supposed to mean?â sae looked at you curiously, âdonât worry âbout itâ you waved off. âseriouslyânevermind. youâre impossible anywayâ he sighed in defeat. you grinned at him, âyeah, i know.â
you looked over at the note again, âhonestly, i think itâs a sign to think about anything other than football.â you remarked as you toyed with the edge of the note, your fingers tracing the words as you tried to gauge sae's reaction. âfootball is not the only thing i think about. it's important to me, though.â sae said, his tone a bit offended. âyou literally donât pay attention in class because youâre thinking about it.â you stared at him with an eyebrow raised, âthatâs why we go on like study dates all the time.â you put the word âdateâ on purpose, wondering how heâd react. âi guess youâre right.â he said indifferently. no reaction... âhey, we gotta test tomorrow, right? letâs go to my place and study for it!â you suggested, âbut we have to practice for our upcoming practice match after midtermsâŠâ he protested, both of you were on the schoolâs team and often practiced together. âwell you wonât play if you donât keep up your grades!â you protested right back. ââŠfine. iâll go over to your house.â
after the school day was over, you waited at the gates for sae so you two could walk home. he was late, which made you annoyed. so you decided to text him. his contact name read âsae â€ïžâ which he never commented on, for some odd reason. you texted him âwhere r u?? iâve been waiting for like 10 minutesâ. after 1 or 2 minutes he responded with âsorry, some girl confessed to me. i think she was the one who left me the note.â oh how wrong he wasâŠ
sae finally met up with you and he was as stoic as ever. âwell well well, look who showed up,â you got up from the wall you leaned on, âbetcha you rejected that girl without hesitation as usual, didnât you?â you smirked, seeing how she was clearly upset and tearing up. you hoped that wouldnât be you⊠âi wouldnât say without hesitationâŠâ sae shoved his hands in his pockets. âyeah right! you totally did, sheâs crying cuz of ya, playboy!â you snickered a bit, âitâs not funny, l/n. and donât call me âplayboyââ he looked at you coldly. âyouâre such a buzzkill, it was a joke anyways, handsome.â you teased with a coy smirk before putting an arm around his shoulder. âugh, donât call me that either, whatâs even the point of calling me that?â he replied with a grimace. âah, just saying cause you are, and all the girls seem to think so too.â you smirked. âdonât joke around like that.â he said, a face of disdain became more evident. âsee? a total buzzkillâŠâ
you opened the door to your house before turning and speaking to him, âso, you wanna tell me what happened with that girl?â your curiosity was out of this roof. âshe confessed to me like any other girl. but i think she was the one, cause she handed me a letter and the handwriting was pretty similar.â sae mentioned. âthat so? and what if it doesnât stop?â you asked, already knowing the answer. âtry to find out who it is, i guessâ
the two of you went up to your room. it wasnât messy but it wasnât clean either. you grabbed an extra chair, put it at your desk and you two started studying together. you regularly had the urge to stare at him for long moments of time, and âaccidentallyâ brush your fingers on his when grabbing a pen. sae's gaze flickered to the folded paper on your desk, a curious expression crossed his face, âhey, whatâs that?â you looked at the note, it was the second letter, but you couldnât ouright tell him that, âuh, itâs a grocery list my mom gave me for tomorrow, cause she wonât be here.â and he took it, like that. âoh, okay.â then shrugged it offâŠ
âhey, can you help me with this question?â sae asked, you already knew all the material, since you actually payed attention in class. âsure,â and you leaned over, a bit too close (on purpose), and started helping him with the question. âyou get it now?â you asked, after some frustration. âyeah, thanks. youâre actually kinda smart.â he remarked backhandedly, âhey! whatâs that supposed to mean? iâm very smart thank you very much! i wouldnât even be in this situation if you actually paid attention in class. stop focusing on football so much!â you hit him on the head lightly, but in a playful manner. he tried to hit you back, but you dodged, right before your chair tipped backwards and you fell. âguess you could say i fell for youâ ow!â then your head got hit, not as lightly by sae. âdonât say stuff like that.â
you faked a sulk for the rest of the time he was there, maybe heâd feel bad for you and kiss you or something. âyou gonna keep pouting?â he asked, âyeah. maybe you should leave, youâre ruining my vibe with all this negativity!â you didnât really mean that, but of course he thought that. sae really didnât get social cues. âwait! i didnât actually mean thatââ then he shut the door. now you were actually sulking. stupid saeâŠdidnât even give you a kiss either.
it was day 2 of your plan, you bought a cute little seagull plush keychain and wrote a note to go with it. it read âhey, handsome! just wanna say, youâre a bit dense for not even getting one clue. but keep it up! i believe in ya!â maybe heâd get that âhandsomeâ was something that youâd often say to himâŠyeah probably not. it was a stretch. you did the same thing, go to school a bit early, put the things and his locker and pretend nothing happened. a part of you wanted this to continue, but the other didn't. there was an urge to tell him you liked him and get it over with. but where was the fun in that?
as you sat in class, you finished your test, which was fairly easy. but you seemed to zone out after that, your mind occupied on how to get sae to realize that it was you. the thought got you frustrated, but pumped out as you wondered what sae's reaction would be to your note. after class, there was a few minutes before the next teacher came in. "hey." sae said as he sat next to you, "soo...what'd ya think?" nudging him playfully with your elbow, his expression nonchalant as ever. "about...?" he asked, "about the test, silly! you think you passed?" he had to be fairly confident, i mean you helped him out. "uh, sure. it was kinda easy." he dismissed it, as always. "it's totally cause i helped you out, right? right?" you teased, "...right, whatever you say."
something seemed to be on sae's mind. maybe it was about the notes. your suspicions were confirmed when he said something, "i got another note today," he mentioned, his expression puzzled. you couldn't contain your excitement as you took the note from him and examined it before giving it back, "wow, another one huh?" you remarked casually, trying to conceal your eagerness. "what's it say?" you asked, your breath hitching in your throat. sae shrugged, clearly confused by the note's contents. "it's just⊠encouraging me to pay more attention to things," he replied, his brow furrowing in confusion. you tried to avoid yourself from smiling inwardly, knowing that your plan was working. "maybe they're trying to help you out," you suggested playfully, hoping he would catch on to your subtle hints.
despite your frustration, you found it impossible to not admire how clueless sae was, it was adorable, in its own irritating way. you tried to drop hints and flirtatious comments, but he seemed to brush them off without a second thought as you just "joking". but as much as you wanted to reveal the truth, there was a part of you that hesitated. what if sae didn't feel the same way? what if it ruined the friendship you had worked so hard to build? despite all this, you didn't want to give up either. you were so deep into this already.
so, for the rest of every period, your gaze remained fixed to him. thinking on how to confess to him, also admiring him. after a bit of thinking, midterms were the day after saeâs birthday, unfortunately. must suck, must suck even harder because all club activities were canceled for the rest of the week due to midterms too! but, there was a good part to it too, maybe he wonât focus so much on football. after school, before he was going to walk home, you called out his name.
âsae! wait up!â he turned around to see you jogging to him, âwhat?â sae snapped at you, not too rudely though, a bit annoyed he couldnât be alone. âyou wanna come over to my house to study for midterms? cmon, i know youâre not learning anything in class, as always!â you could see him be reluctant before sighing. âfine, but not today. iâm busy.â fair enough, it was fine, as long as if you got to confess to him on his birthday. âyou better not be saying that so you can play football!â you turned to look at him and you saw he was avoiding your gaze. âyouâre totally obsessedâŠâ not like you could say anything. you were pretty much obsessed with football too (and him), but not as much.
the atmosphere was kinda awkward after that, so you decided to say something, âdid you get another clue to who that person was?â you asked casually, trying to read his expression. ânot yet,â he admitted, âbut i know itâs someone closer to me. how else would they know seagulls were my favorite animal?â he wondered holding up the keychain, admiring it a bit in the light. âyou gonna keep it?â you looked at the keychain as well, hoping he said yes, âyeah, itâs pretty cute. i donât want to throw something like this away either.â you eyes naturally set on the way his lips curled up ever so slightly, the way his hair fell on his face and caught the sunlight. your face flushed as you scrambled to look away. if you didnât realize it before, but now was when you realized how much you actually liked him.
âso, this oneâs different, huh?â you tried to change the subject, âwhat do you mean âdifferentâ?â he asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. you fumbled for words, as you thought about if he caught you staring or not, âi mean, normally you throw out any gift and reject every personâŠwhatâs so different now?â you swallowed nervously, hoping your words didn't come off too blunt. "i just meant... well, you usually don't keep stuff like this. but this time, you're actually considering it," you explained, trying to sound nonchalant. sae nodded slowly, seeming to think about your observation. "yeah, I guess you're right. It's just... different," he admitted, his gaze shifting to the keychain in his hand. he beat you to saying something else before you could, âitâs like, theyâre close to me, right under my fingertip and i want to know who.â
âyeah?â you smiled at him again, admiring his features once more. âhey, hypothetically, if the person was a guy, would you care?â you asked on a whim, âi guess...not really." he replied with a shrug. "why do you ask?" you shrugged nonchalantly, but secretly felt relieved. at least he wouldn't out right reject you. trying to keep your nerves at bay, you tried to justify yourself, "just curious, y'know? it's interesting to think about." sae nodded in agreement, but you could sense a hint of suspicion in his gaze. it made you wonder if he was starting to suspect something, if he was beginning to piece together the puzzle of his secret admirer.
you waved him goodbye as he walked into his house. tomorrow was the weekend, so you couldn't outright give him anything, but you'd still hint at it when he came over to your house to study. that night, you tossed and turned in bed, partly from the thought of confessing, but also how good he looked on the walk back to his house. you rolled around in bed, almost like a middle school girl in a shojo. it wasn't your best of times, but you refrain from the thought of him, and him piecing together the puzzle had you biting your bottom lip in nervousness and excitement.
when saturday came, you paced back and forth in your room, thinking of what to say and do when he came. you felt pretty damn tired, too from last night, barely got a wink of sleep. you mumbled 'don't screw this up' over and over again when you heard a knock at the door. "sae! you made it!" you said with a sigh of relief, at least he didn't ditch you to watch game footage or anything like that, "yeah, i did." you tried to go in for a hug but he quickly dismissed that.
after an hour or so of studying, you got bored so you decided to hint what you were doing for his birthday. âsae, your birthdayâs coming up right? october 10th?â you tried to put in the conversation casually, âyeah, why?â he looked at you with some suspicion, "i'm just asking. but, i'm sure you'd love me for my gift" a small, yet cocky smirk crept onto your face, "don't you mean i'd love 'it'?" he expressed, some more suspicion in his tone, "oh no, i know what i meant, you're gonna love me." he sighed in defeat, he knew there was no point in pushing it further.
so, that's basically how it went for the next few days. him being stupidly oblivious, you trying to drop the hint even further. you got nowhere, on wednesday, the day before his birthday, you decided to give him a flower. not an overly big bouquet, you'd probably save that for the actual confession, instead, you opted for a single flower. it was a flower he'd seen before, and that you knew he liked. there was a vase with a single flower in your room, his eyes consistently focused on it. it was a light pink hydrangea, it was beautiful, so you understood why he stared at it often. maybe he'd understand then. you decided to take the one that was in your room, when he came over that day, maybe he'd ask why the vase was empty and get the god damn hint already,
as per usual, you went early, dropped the gift off, and went off. there wasn't any note this time, as you were kinda sick of writing them. plus, the big day was tomorrow, you'd save every pent up emotion for then. you waited for him in the courtyard, when you spotted him in the courtyard examining the flower you went up to greet him. "hey, sae! looks like you got a flower now, huh?" you wrapped an arm around his shoulder to break him out of his trance, "yeah. this is the same flower that's in your room, right?" at least he got the hint, you pretended to study it for a bit before replying, "hm, yeah, it is. funny ain't it? maybe they know you really well." you looked at sae to gauge his expression, he did a simple nod and kept his blank expression. you clenched your fists in frustration as sae brushed off your flirtatious comment, a knot forming in your stomach. whatever, he'd have another shot when he went to your house anyway.
you were right, because when he went to your room, he noticed the empty vase immediately. "the flower is missing." he pointed out, "gave it to someone real special" you looked at him as you said that, "it was a nice flower, you should've gave it to me...but i can't really complain if they're that special to you..." you were instictively drawn to the way sae's expression softened when he talked about the flower, a hint of vulnerability shining through his normally neutral face.
you stared at him in a 'are you serious?' look. well yeah, you did give it to him, and he was special, "sorry, was that rude?" sae took note of your expression, "oh no no, it's something else," you quickly went back to focusing, "let's just cram for midterms" you muttered, hoping to divert the conversation away from your failed attempt at dropping another hint. you couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment that sae didn't seem to catch on to your subtle gestures. but you pushed those feelings aside and focused on studying for midterms.
nothing special happened, just some plain ol' cramming. but, you failed to focus on it. all your thoughts went to the day tomorrow. the thought had you feeling all sorts of emotions. sae noticed your unusual quietness and said something on the matter, "is something wrong? you're being awfully quiet." you felt yourself tense up, "just nervous for midterms...don't wanna fail...haha..." you made a pathetic excuse of a lie, he narrowed his eyes a bit, trying to examine your actions before ultimately deciding to drop it. at a desperate attempt to change the subject you decided to point something out that you noticed, "hey, the bracelets you normally wear, you don't wear them anymore," you pointed out, "oh, i lost them. hadn't gotten the chance to get new ones." you kept that in mind, you'd probably get him a new bracelet for his birthday.
you could barely sleep that night, you stayed up thinking what'd you say, do, act. everything had to be perfect, it probably wouldn't end up that way, but you tried your best. a voice popped up in your head that made you not even want to confess in the first place. it said the same things that made you reluctant before, 'what if he didn't like me back? what if i ruined our friendship?' what if this and that. but what if he actually liked you back, and everything turned out even better than you hoped? every thought was about the next day, it made your head spin. after a bit of staying up, you realized being all tired and having eye backs wasn't cute and a good look for a confession, so you forced yourself to sleep.
on the morning of sae's birthday, you woke up with a flurry of emotions swirling inside you. today was the day you would finally reveal your feelings to him. you couldn't focus on anything else, not even the midterms the next day. every thought was consumed by sae and the confession that awaited. as the day progressed, you found it increasingly difficult to contain your excitement. you kept glancing at the clock, counting down the hours until you could see sae and tell him how you felt. It felt like time was moving at a snail's pace, each minute dragging on endlessly. you went to his locker and put in the last note, 'meet me at the rooftop at 7:30'. it was short and straight to the point, no cryptic messages or hints.
you stood at the rooftop, your back leaning on the railing. your palms felt sweaty and you could hear your heartbeat get louder. your mind was full of feelings you wanted to get out. you were looking up at the sky to get your mind off of everything. the scenery was beautiful, you were lost in it until you heard the sound of the door opening, and there you saw him. the man you've liked since forever. his face was a mix of a lot of emotions, it was hard to read, to be honest.
as sae stepped onto the rooftop, the setting sun casting a warm glow around him, your heart skipped a beat. you felt the breath get sucked out of your lungs, he looked stunning, more than usual, actually. "hey, sae," you began, your voice trembling slightly with nervousness but filled with anticipation. "i'm so glad you actually came." his eyes widened in surprise, his gaze flickering between you and the breathtaking view spread out before him. "it was you?" he breathed, his voice tinged with disbelief. you chuckled nervously, your fingers fidgeting with the delicate bracelet you had carefully chosen for him.
"surpriseâŠ? if it wasn't obvious enoughâŠ" you paused, your heart pounding in your chest as you took a step closer to him. "there's something I've been wanting to tell you," you confessed, your voice soft but determined. with trembling hands, you slipped the bracelet onto his wrist, the cool metal contrasting with the warmth of his skin. "i really like you, sae," you whispered, your gaze locked with his. "it's been this way for a while, but I never had the chance to say anything." you reached out, presenting him with the bouquet of pale pink hydrangeas, their soft petals illuminated by the fading light. "these are for you," you said softly, a shy smile playing on your lips.
taking in a deep breath, you continued, your voice filled with sincerity and vulnerability. "i've been dropping hints since the beginning of time and i was hoping you'd catch on, but i realized i had to take matters into my own hands. i needed to tell you how i felt eventually. sae's eyes softened as he listened to your heartfelt confession, his expression shifting from surprise to something warmer, something more tender. "iâŠi didn't realize," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "i never knew you felt this way." you took a step closer, your heart pounding in your ear with anticipation as you reached your hand out to gently cup his cheek.
"i've been waiting for this moment for so long..." you admitted, your voice barely audible over the soft rustle of the breeze, "to finally tell you how much you meant to me. so please, can i be your boyfriend?" you gazed directly into his eyes, waiting for the dreadful answer. as you waited for sae's response, the tension in the air seemed to thicken, every passing moment feeling like an eternity. sae's gaze softened as he took in your confession, his eyes reflecting a mixture of surprise, uncertainty, and something else you couldn't quite place. you held your breath, your heart pounding in your chest as you awaited his answer.
finally, after what felt like an eternity, sae's lips curled into a gentle smile, a warmth spreading across his features. "know that i know how you feel, i don't want to waste anymore time." your heart skipped a beat as you felt a surge of hope and anticipation wash over you. could it be "sae," you whispered, your voice barely audible over the gentle hum of the wind, "what do you mean?" a soft chuckle escaped sae's lips as he took a step closer to you, his eyes sparkling with newfound clarity and determination. "i mean⊠i want to be more than just friends," he confessed, his voice steady and sure. "i want to be with you, too."
you felt excited and shocked and every other emotion there was out there. you uttered a single word, "really?" your heart felt like it was about to explode out of joy. sae nodded, his smile widening as he leaned in closer, his forehead resting against yours. "really," he whispered, his breath warm against your skin. "i've been blind for so long, but now that i see⊠i don't want to let you go." you wanted to cry, that's what. "you're so stupid for not seeing this...i never want to let you go too..." your voice trembled, you sniffled while saying it too.
"i'm sorry. i really am." he admitted, and without another word sae closed the distance between you two. time stopped, it was as simple as that. everything went to a halt as you tried to process what happened. the kiss was sweet and simple, just as you two liked it. in that moment, surrounded by the soft glow of the setting sun and the gentle rustle of the breeze, everything else faded away, leaving only the two of you lost in the sweetness of the moment. you pulled away after what felt like ages.
"happy birthday sae," you said softly, your voice at a barely audible level. "you're right, i did love you for this gift. thanks for everything." he smiled, his face totally different from his usual unemotional look. "no problem and," you held your breath for the next words you were about to say, "i love you." you felt at peace, you finally said what you've always wanted to say, "i love you too."

for you, iâll make an exception
pairing(s): sick!nagi seishiro x germaphobic!male reader
summary: nagi gets a fever, even though youâre deathly afraid of the possibility of getting sick, you decide to suck it up and help nagi.
warnings: bit of internalized homophobia (not a lot, just hesitating to kiss nagi cause heâs a boy)
a/n: first tumblr post, hope it's good! i love the sickfic trope, so i decided to do it for my first post. also, i didnât proof read this so sorry if itâs bad. enjoy :))
you started noticing that nagi has been sluggish lately, really sluggish, like more than usual. it's to the point where it has you worried. you were thinking of the possibilities of this newfound sluggishness, you didn't like to think it, but what if he was sick? the thought made you squeamish, what if you got sick too? it made your mind race.
when class ended, you decided to approach him. "hey, nagi?" you asked. "hmm?" nagi replied lazily. "are you, uh, good?"you waited for his response, but it looked like he could barely keep his eyes open. "...tired" he responded before yawning. "guess you always are..." you muttered. "are you sure there's nothing wrong?" you decided to take another shot. "yeah, i guess. think i might have a fever though..." you just stared at him. your worst fears just settled in. fever? that's even worse than a cold? you could get sick just by standing here! by even breathing near him! you were silently panicking before you took a look at nagi and realized that he was actually really unwell. something in your heart softened a bit, maybe youd make an exception for himâŠ
the next day, nagi didn't show up. but why? was it the fever? or was he just too lazy to get out of bed? you decided to make a visit once school was over. the thought of helping him was a bit sickeningâŠyou washed your hands several times from the thought.
when the school day was over, you went over to his apartment. of course, prepared with hand sanitizer, a mask, and some gloves. you felt light headed from even touching the door. âiâm touching what a sick person touchedâŠâ you thought several times over. you knocked, one, two, three times. no responseâŠyou thought of turning back and just forgetting about this. but the thought of nagi being sick changed your mind. you opened the door, then immediately put on hand sanitizer. it was cluttered, things were sprawled out on the floor, there was dust. all this was a nightmare, but you decided to keep on going, for nagi.
ânagi? hello? you in there?â it was only met with a dry cough. you started seriously regretting thisâŠgetting sick or helping nagi? what would it be? the thought made your head hurt. there were pros of helping out nagi than there were cons of getting sickâŠso thatâs what you decided to do.
you walked in his room, holding the mask in your hand just in case. his room was just as messy as the outside. youâd definitely have a cleaning session with him. âl/nâŠ?â nagi weakly called out. âyeah, itâs me. you good?â you said softly. âdonât feel wellâŠcanât play gamesâŠâ he sighed, he almost had a pouty look. it was adorable. you had a bit of sympathy for him. âcoldâŠâ nagi shivered a bit and he reached for your jacket. âhey! i might have to burn that now since you contaminated it!â you quickly wanted to take back what you said, it was kinda jerkish⊠âfine. you can have my jacket. just wash it, âkay?â you said reluctantly. ââŠâkayâ then you lended him the jacket.
âsmells like youâŠâ he said before having a coughing fit. you wanted to jolt back, but something inside you justâŠdidnât. you felt a blush creep up your face. âhuh? donât say that sorta stuff, nagi! just rest up a bit and donât talkâŠiâll get you some soup.â you remarked. âfine by meâŠâ nagi yawned again
you walked in with a bowl of soup and a cold compress. âcmon, sit up i got your soupâ you sighed. âhuh? but i donât wanna get upâŠfeed meâŠâ he pouted. âseriously? you arenât 5.â you rolled your eyes at this. but it was a bit adorable, in its own way. âhelp me sit upâŠâ nagi looked at you. âuhâŠâ you hesitated a bitâŠtouching a sick person? and you just had to leave your gloves in the kitchenâŠbut it was nagiâŠfine, you decided to settle on helping him. you took your hand out, before hesitating a bit, then held his hand to help him up.
âyour hands are sweatyâŠâ nagi bluntly stated. âoh shut up and let me help youâ you snapped back softly. you held back the feeling to wash your hands. gross, gross, gross. your mouth felt dry and you felt yourself sweat a bit. you started feeding him the soup. âyumâŠyouâre a good cook l/nâ nagi ate the soup happily. âthanks, wasnât anything special thoughâŠâ you blushed a little.
there was a brief moment of silence, it was awkward and the only thing you could feel was your heart pounding. was it from the fear of getting sick? or was it himâŠ? that was a stupid idea⊠you were stuck in your thoughts before nagi broke the silence. âiâm sorry i made you come hereâŠi know you much you hate getting sickâŠâ he said softly, you could tell he felt bad. âoh, uh, donât worry âbout it. for you, iâll make an exception.â you kept feeding him the soup.
after a bit you grabbed the cold compress, leaned forward and put it to his head. it was then you realized you two were pretty damn close. maybe if you leaned a bit more forward⊠no, it was wrong. he was sick, and you were both guys⊠but the urge was driving you crazy. you shook your head and went back to your senses.
nagi ate all the soup, which was surprising since he didnât normally have the motivation to even eat at all. you were about to get up when you felt a hand tug at your shirt. âstay with meâŠâ you blushed hard. âyou canât just keep playing with my feelings like thisâŠâ you thought. ââŠfineâ you said reluctantly before sitting down at his desk again. âin bedâŠâ nagi muttered. âwhat?â you asked, what was he saying? âin bed, with meâŠâ nagi muttered again. was he seriously saying what you thought he was saying? âyou want me to lay in bed with you?â your face flushed all sorts of crimson. âmhmâŠâ nagi nodded slowly. âfirst you want my jacket and now you want me to lay with you?â you put your hands on your hips. âyeahâŠwill you not do it?â nagi looked up at you with a pouty expression. âIâ uhâ fine.â you gave in, you got in bed with him and pulled the covers over you two.
âwarmâŠâ you felt him cuddle up to you and lay on your chest. âheyââ you tried to protest, but then you realized he was already asleep. you chuckles and smiled softly. âgood night, nagi. sweet dreamsâ you whispered before kissing his forehead.
