i need someone to be as insane as i am over how fucking wild the bell tower segment is in the minish cap (where link has to rush up to the top of the tower within three tolls of the bell or else vaati kills zelda and the game gets a bad ending). i know i've posted about it before but!!! i mean!!!! bell tower tolls are not slow!!!! the time between the tolls in the game are scripted for the first two tolls and then stretched out for the last toll (because a player needs time to be able to defeat the enemies), but like. obviously there's not going to be some magical extra stretch of time between the tolls in-universe. obviously, in-universe, the bell is going to toll with a steady rhythm—and again!!! they are not slow!!! look up any video of a bell tower tolling and you'll know what i mean!!! so anyway that means that within the span of three tolls, minish cap link defeated *checks notes* one ball and chain soldier (and then climbed the stairs), ten purple keatons (and then climbed THOSE stairs), and then the group of two red darknuts & one black darknut before finally reaching the top of dark hyrule castle. it's just so fucking nuts. i'd love to fucking stick him in a majora's mask speedrun actually
