“You are the incarnation of Parfir, not the lackey of this or any other council!” Though his words were quiet, Kahlil felt his face flush with conviction. “Your flesh is my earth. Your blood is my river. Your breath is my sky. Your body is my world. Only you know how much destruction this world can endure. You can feel it as none of us can.”

This isn’t technically Rifter content, but it has Jath’ibaye vibes

He had failed. He had ruined the world. No amount of remorse would change that, and he had no right to expect the release of death. He had no right to dream of it, as he did each night. He deserved to feel bad and he deserved to suffer, but he didn’t deserve to die yet. He had too many obligations.

"Once Ravishan had undressed, John handed him a blanket, which he wrapped around himself. His black hair was beginning to dry and curl just slightly. He looked like he could have been some young, biblical prophet draped in shadows and flowing cloth."

blessed indeed <3
Both halves of his life melted into each other and what had once felt like contradictions, like losses and failures, now seemed unified and blessed. - The Rifter

“Then Jahn wasn´t such a bad choice?” “I suppose it wasn´t.” Ravishan reached past John to pull a spray of pine needles from the branch above them.
“So you saved the candidate´s life?” Ravishan pulled one of the needles loose from the rest, and after a moment, let it drop to the ground.
“I don´t know.” John shrugged. “He was pretty well guarded. He might have been fine without my help.” “The Issusha`im Oracles foresaw his death.” Ravishan shifted to face John, his hip and elbow resting lightly against the smooth alabaster. He leaned close, keeping his voice low “But you stopped it.” ________________________________________________________________ I don´t think I will ever stop screaming about just how good The rifter series by Ginn Hale is. I´m currently reading the books again for the third time and while I´m not too happy with how this turned out (because I have this very clear image of John and Ravishan in my mind) I just couldnt resist. Seriously, go read the rifter! ♥

Dreamwidth Community
Due to the future of tumblr being up-in-the-air, I highly suggest checking out Dreamwidth as a possible fan-community alternative! It’s a wonderful platform (if a little bit antiquated) that is super supportive of their users.
I’ve made a Ginn Hale Dreamwidth community. Please consider joining if you have a Dreamwidth account. There are no posts there yet, but it would be awesome to know we have a backup place to hang out if necessary.

This series has gorgeous maps and some of the best bonus content of any book I’ve read. There is a bunch of cool illustrations at the end of the last book, a dictionary of Basawar words, a family tree, and an extra short story! It’s so sad that they’re out of print! I’m holding on to hope that one day @blindeyebooks will do a relaunch! 🙏 • • • ❓Have you ever read a series that didn’t have a map that REALLY needed one? 🗺 I can’t believe The Queen’s Thief series didn’t get a map until the FIFTH book! Another series that really needed a map was Doctrine of Labyrinths by Sarah Monette. Although luckily an amazing, talented fan did a gorgeous map for the series (you can see it on AO3). 🌏 • • • CHALLENGES! 📋📖 #novinbooks18 📚 “favorite #bookishmap” 🗾 #allthebooksnov18 “ #mapmonday “ 🔰 • • #therifter #therifterseries #ginnhale #mmromance #book #bookstagram #bookish #bibliophile #booklover #booknerd #bookphotography #fantasy #bookspines #bookstack #ilovereading #fantasy #queerbooks #lgbtbooks #photooftheday #flatlay https://www.instagram.com/p/BqFnQL3HI49/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1sfq3g42912o9

The Rifter is Nominated for Yuletide!
If you enjoy reading/writing fic, consider signing up for Yuletide! It’s one of the most well-run and active fic exchanges of the year, with TONS of participation and representation for a bunch of small fandoms.
The Rifter is nominated, which means that you can request to receive or offer to write fic in this fandom. It’s not a guarantee that you’ll get it for your assignment, but there are tons of other awesome fandoms nominated as well.
Get more info and sign up here: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2018/profile
(And if you have any questions about it, hit me up with an ask. I know the fic exchange process can seem a little complicated and confusing!)

this has been sitting in my files for a while now! It´s Ravishan from Ginn Hale`s Rifter Series - probably one of my absolute favourite book series ever (and seriously so so underrated!)
