Chapter 16
Next Chapter
Previous Chapter
Back at the base, Tony’s hands flew over the keyboard, his eyes scanning the USB drive they had found at your location, hoping for an answer. He still couldn’t figure out what just happened. The last thing he heard was your voice.
“Tony, they found me!”
Then nothing. Nothing but silence had followed. The screen in front of him flickered, lines of data scrambling across his display, but there was nothing. No signal, no trace, just an empty line.
“FRIDAY?” His voice cracked. “Find her. Now.”
“I’m attempting to triangulate her position, sir,” FRIDAY responded. “There’s interference. But the transmission was abruptly cut off.”
“Damn it,” Tony muttered, turning to the others. “Get your gear ready. She’s out there and we need to find her.”
Natasha, Clint, and Sam were already on their way, Tony’s words had barely left his mouth before they were heading for the door. But Steve, the ever calm leader, stopped them in their tracks.
“Tony, listen this isn’t your fault,” Steve said, he tried to comfort. “We’ll find her. We just need to think.”
But Tony didn’t want to hear it. His jaw tightened. “I should’ve been there,” he muttered, more to himself than to Steve. “She’s out there alone, and I
”
“Tony.” Steve’s voice was firm now, a reminder to focus. “We’ll get her back.
Tony gritted his teeth, his mind already racing with calculations. “Right. well I’m going in first. No delays.”
Hydra Base – Your POV
You were strapped to a table, Electricity stillbuzzed through you, your body was stiff and shaking on the cold metal table. The bitter taste of blood on your tongue. Tubes were jammed into your arm, you weren't sure what they were....IV lines or worse, pumping God knows what into your bloodstream
“Shit” you muttered willing yourself not to pass out. You tried to breathe through it, tried to focus on the subtle movements of your surroundings. You could hear them now, two figures, maybe more, moving closer.
With all your remaining strength, you forced your eyes open. A figure stepped into the faint light, their silhouette barely visible through the haze of pain.
“I was hoping you’d be a bit more cooperative,” came the voice, it was familiar. You couldn’t quite place it. But you recognised it.
Back at Base pov:
Tony was pacing, his hands running through his hair. He couldn’t stand all the waiting around. He shot a quick look at Steve.
“Any luck?” he snapped.
Steve shook his head, his eyes still fixed on the map, trying to predict their next move. “We’re getting close. But we don’t know where she is yet. These Hydra bastards have too many holes.”
“We will find her,” Tony said, “And when we do, it’s over for them.”
YOUR POV
A door hissed open. It wasn't the usual grunts or masked interrogators. No this one wore a suit. Clean and crisp with the SHIELD emblem on the front pocket. “It took us a long time to track you, Y/A/N.” (Your avenger name)
Your stomach dropped. Zero the head of SHIELD stood before you.
“Oh, come now. You knew SHIELD and Hydra weren’t that separate. Especially after we tried to reclaim the Soldier and maybe trap the trickster god.” He tapped your temple lightly “But do you even know who you are? Why we kept you around once they disappeared?”
You stayed silent your gaze unwavering staring straight at him.
“A soldier who can crash networks, slit throats, and disappear without a whisper
What we didn’t expect was for you to grow a conscience. Join the Avengers.” He leaned in close, whispering your ear, “But it’s about time we changed who you’re loyal to.”
Avengers, Bucky and Loki POV
Natasha crossed her arms sighing deeply. “You all know we’re going to have to tell them.”
The room fell quiet.
Tony didn’t look up from the display. “Yeah.”
Sam let out a deep breath through his nose. “They deserve to know.”
Clint nodded grimly. “Well this isn't going to be pretty.”
Without another word, they were in the jet, heading straight for the only place they knew the two men would be.
The front door creaked open.
Bucky glanced out the window, shaking his head, “We really need a new safe house.”
Loki nodded, fiddling with his dagger between his fingers. “We’ve had more guests here than an Asgardian ball”
But the moment they saw the team’s faces tight, grim and silent they knew something was up.
“What is it?” Bucky asked, already moving forward.
“What happened?” Loki’s voice sharp but fear rising behind his words.
Steve stepped forward, his jaw clenched. “They got her. They have Y/N.”
Loki’s face paled, his illusion fading for a split second.
Bucky’s voice came out low and deadly. “Where.”
Steve met his eyes. “You need to come with us. Now.”

Chapter 15

A few weeks later you sat hunched over a desk in some forgotten outpost on the edge of Romania, half buried beneath snow.
The Hydra base had been long abandoned, or so they claimed. The flickering screen in front of you told a different story.
Lines of code streamed past your eyes. You barely blinked your fingers flying over your keyboard. This was where you thrived in the hum of machines.
A soft click echoed through the dark.
You didn’t flinch you just paused and reached slowly for the sidearm holstered at your thigh your eyes still on the screen. “Not now,” you muttered annoyed. “I’m in the middle of something.” nothing answered back, thank god.
Then static danced through your earpiece. Tony’s voice crackled in.
“Y/N, do you ever sleep, or do you just snack on encrypted firewalls and rage?”
You smirked. “Mostly rage., I’ve got Nat and Clint heading to Base 9. You sure you don’t need backup?”
“No,” you said firmly. “I’ve almost got it. This is the last piece. Then we hit them hard.”
“You alright,?” Tony asked, noticing you were quietter than usual or in general.
You sighed. “I’m good.” You didn’t tell him you still dreamed of Bucky’s voice snarling behind you. Or Loki’s soft, cruel smile. You didn’t tell him about the ache in your chest every time you thought of them how you wanted to go back, but you couldn’t. Not until this was over.
You were brought out of your daze by a Sudden click.
The screen lit up green. ACCESS GRANTED.
Your heart jumped and you leaned in.
A full Hydra drop-site list. Encrypted comms. High-level internal logs and a transfer schedule. But This wasn’t just another patrol. They were planning something big. You quickly began the download.
Then..
A creak.
Behind you.
Barely audible, but definitly there.
Your eyes darted to the corner mirror you’d wedged up hours ago, just in time to see a flash of black.
You grabbed the drive, and threw it across the floor, and went for your gun but it was Too late.
A sharp crack of electricity sounded your spine arching in agony.
Your fingers scrambled for the comms in your ear.
“Tony” you gasped.
Another surge your knees hit the ground.
“Tony, they found me!”
The scream echoed down the comm line just before the connection cut
Tony Stark stood frozen not known what his next move was going to be

Chapter 4
Next Chapter
Previous Chapter
The lights are dim as the movie plays in the background, it was Steve's choice , so it was some old action flick that no one’s really paying attention to.
You’re sitting cross-legged on the floor near the coffee table, one hand half-heartedly dipping into the popcorn bowl. You try and keep your eyes on the screen but Your focus drifts Clint’s behind you, sprawled on the floor near the sofa, legs stretched out, the picture of casual.
Except there’s nothing casual about the way his knee brushes against your back. Or how, every so often, his hand snakes over your shoulder to steal popcorn his fingers lingering, grazing your bare skin like it’s nothing. Like it doesn’t set your whole body on fire.
Then, when you shift to reach for the bowl, he’s there his hand wraps firmly around your waist, fingers splayed wide on your stomach as he pulls you back, slow and steady, until you’re nestled between his legs, your back resting against his chest.
Your breath catches in your throat.
As the movie continues, you can feel your heart racing. Clint’s hand stays on your waist, his thumb brushing lazy circles against your side.
He still steals a piece of popcorn every now and then, his arm sliding across your shoulder to reach the bowl.
You feel him breathe, the rise and fall of his chest behind you, and his breath across the back of your neck.
He’s the only thing you can feel. You have forgotten about the movie, you have forgotten about the popcorn. It’s all too much, too much heat, too much tension, too much Clint Barton.
You mutter, “I’m
I’m gonna get a drink.” barely holding it together: You slip out of his hold and make a beeline for the kitchen. Your heart’s slamming in your chest, your skin still tingling from where his hand had been.
You reach for your glass on the shelf, your arms stretching up. Your shirt rides up with the movement, exposing a strip of skin along your waist. And that’s when you feel it....his hand.
Large, warm, fingers brushing your bare hip as he reaches around you, his body a solid, burning presence at your back. His voice, low and rough against your ear: “Let me get that for you, sweetheart.”
You freeze.
The glass clinks softly as he takes it down, his hand lingering on your skin, just a moment too long. His fingertips skim the curve of your waist.
You turn slowly your heart racing, and there he is.
Clint.
Close enough to feel the warmth radiating off him, close enough that you could lean in, could taste the air between you. His eyes lock on yours and For a moment your world stops.
You whisper, breathless, barely holding onto control: “Clint
”
He doesn’t back off and doesn’t move. His voice is low, “I know.”
His hand is still on your waist and the tension is suffocating.
But before you can say anything else, before you can even breathe, a slow, deliberate throat clear breaks the moment.
You freeze the glass trembling in your hands.
Clint steps back, his hands falling to his sides like he’s been caught. You turn your head, and there he is.
Loki leans against the doorway, arms crossed, one brow arched, smirking. His voice is smooth as silk, but there’s a dangerous glint in his eyes. “How
 domestic.”
He pushes off the frame, sauntering into the kitchen with his gaze locked on Clint. There’s a dark amusement in his eyes, but underneath it there is a warning.
Clint’s jaw tightens, his hands curling into fists at his sides. Loki stops just close enough to you, tilting his head silently asking if you are okay.
You slip past Clint, your heart pounding in your chest, glass trembling in your hands. The air is thick with the weight of what almost happened.
You don’t look back.
You make way back toward the living room, trying to steady your breathing.
Behind you, Clint stands watching as you leave his fists clenched, His eyes shoot to Loki as he passes beside him, he turns his head just slightly, his voice low, “Careful, Barton. Don’t make promises you’re not willing to keep.”
It is a warning but Loki doesn’t wait for a response.
He moves after you, taking a seat beside you.
And somewhere behind you, Clint stews in the kitchen, the moment slipping away, wondering how the hell he’s going to fix this.

Chapter 14

You wouldn’t have guessed how dark it was as the HYDRA compound burned.
Steve lowered his shield, his chest heaving and his knuckles bloodied. “Secure the last tunnel,” he barked into the comms.
“Already on it,” Natasha replied, as she dropped from the rafters, blades flashing as she took out the final guard. “South exit’s clear.”
Tony hovered above the wreckage, scanning the ruins. “Heat signatures neutral. Not bad for a little underground rebellion.”
Across the compound, Sam flew overhead. “Drones are offline. Communications jammed. HYDRA’s not calling for backup anytime soon.”
“About damn time,” Clint muttered.
“Excuse you, I think the words you’re looking for are ‘thank you,’” your voice crackled through the comms.
Steve froze. “Y/N?”
“Don’t sound so surprised, Cap,” you teased from the other end. “Wasn’t gonna let you all have the fun without me.”
“Where the hell are you?” Natasha demanded.
“Somewhere warm. Now hurry up, I’m hungry.”
Clint chuckled. “So
 still bossing us around, huh?”
“Someone has to.” The comm went dead with a soft click.
Loki & Bucky
The door creaked open.
Bucky stepped in first his gun raised his body tense. Loki followed, green light humming in his palm.
“Feels wrong,” Bucky muttered.
Loki sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes. “It smells like her perfume.”
Bucky raised an eyebrow. “Since when do you notice perfume?”
Loki arched a brow right back. “Since she wore that one that made my knees weak and my morals questionable.”
“Right,” Bucky muttered, rolling his eyes. “So, since always.”
They moved through the flat slowly.
Then Bucky saw it a slip of paper on the table.
He picked it up, unfolding it carefully, like it might explode.
“We’re in this together, even when apart.”
Loki peered over his shoulder. “Told you so.” Then walked away.
“Well, good for you,” Bucky huffed out.
“And she didn’t even steal our last coffee ration. That’s love,” Loki said from the kitchen.
“She better not have touched the Pop-Tarts,” Bucky added seriously, storming into the kitchen.
Loki moved toward the window, frowning. “She was watching us. Probably made sure we were clear before even stepping foot in here.”
Bucky folded the note and tucked it into his jacket pocket with quiet reverence. “Yeah. She’s watching our backs.”
Loki looked over, face softer now. “Then we’d better make it worth her trust.”
Bucky snorted, grabbing a beer from the fridge. “She breaks into our safe house and leaves a love note, and you get all sentimental.”
“I’m not sentimental,” Loki said smoothly. “I’m poetic.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“You kissed me once for writing you a haiku.”
Bucky paused. “It was a good haiku.”
Loki smirked. “Exactly.”

dangerous territory → clint b.
Tumblr media
gif credit (x)
summary → clint stays behind during a mission, leaving you alone with him in the avengers building. seeing him sprawled out on the comfy lounge room couch gives you some naughty ideas – only adding to the tension your relationship already has.
word count → 6.7k (literally wtf)
warnings → i ignore the entirety of iw/endgame except for clint’s makeover, extreme sexual tension, smut; switch!fem!reader, switch!clint, couch sex, oral (both recieving), fingering, slight overstimulation, dirty talk, praise
a/n → literally idk if i should be ashamed or not but im Horny 4 Hawkeye!!! oopsie !! also there are like .3 smut fics for him on here and im determined to fix that
—
Quiet was not a word you’d use to describe the Avengers Facility.
In fact, with Steve’s loud orders, Bruce’s lab explosions, and Sam’s boisterous laughter – not to mention the never-ending petty arguments that managed to revert the Avengers to 11th graders in their first debate club – it was the farthest thing from quiet.
But, now, with zero disagreements and zero distractions, you’d been able to enjoy the building all to yourself. Almost. Of course, the one time you got to avoid a mission, you ended up falling into an even worse situation.
You’d covered for Wanda last mission, and she’d insisted on paying you back for the newest one. It wasn’t high stakes by any means, but the work itself had countless components and everyone who was nearby – or at least on the planet – had been called in to fill some role.
Everyone, of course, except you. And Clint.

Chapter 13

The safe house was too quiet.
“Something’s off,” Bucky muttered, already reaching for the knife tucked at his lower back.
Loki stilled at his side, his eyes narrowing.
They moved carefully toward the small, battered living room.
And there, sitting at the table under the dim yellow lamp, was you.
Half your face was hidden in the shadow, the other half lit by the light.
One elbow rested casually on the table, a small smile tugging at the corner of your mouth.
You tilted your head “Hello, Pet.” You grinned, echoing Loki’s first words to you all those weeks ago.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
Then Loki’s lips curved into a smile, “Bit dramatic.”
“I thought you’d like it,” you quipped smoothly.
Bucky crossed the room in three long strides. dropping to his knees His metal hand caught your jaw, he kissed you hard, fierce and desperate.
You kissed him back just as fiercely before breaking away with a small, breathless laugh.
Without hesitating, you turned to Loki. He met you halfway in the room, his hand threading into your hair as he kissed you deep.
“It’s not a long visit, boys,” you said lightly, nodding toward the file sitting on the table. “I just came to deliver something.”
Bucky glanced at it and shrugged.
“We didn’t need it back,” he said. “We’ve got it memorised.”
You only smiled faintly. “Mmm,” you hummed.
You turned toward the door, pausing with your hand on the knob. Without looking back, you said coolly: “And don’t think you’re forgiven yet. You’ve got a lot of making up to do before that happens.” The door clicked shut behind you, leaving them in stunned silence.
Loki crossed to the table and lifted the file. He flipped it open and froze.
Inside wasn’t their file.
It was yours.
A thick stack of documents intelligence, surveillance logs, secret meetings, all compiled by you and the Resistance.
Hydra agents. SHIELD operatives. traitors.
Nestled among the papers was a small, green origami dragon. Loki stared at it, stricken. It was the same dragon he’d crafted years ago on your first date sending it flying through a restaurant, causing soups to spill and salads to scatter while you laughed.
Tucked underneath the dragon was a simple, handwritten note:
You can trust me.
I love you.
Y/N
Loki stumbled back a step, the blood draining from his face as he sank heavily into the chair behind him.
Bucky caught the look, alarm flickering across his features. “You okay?”
Loki wordlessly handed him the file.
Bucky flipped through the pages, mouth tightening into a grim lineand then he let out a low, stunned curse. “Fuck,” he whispered. *“She has busy.”
It hit them both at once. You had been fighting the whole time, for them. And after all they had done, you had put your trust back in their hands.

Chapter 12
Next Chapter
Previous Chapter
The underground compound was silent, and the air was thick with anticipation and dread. It had been weeks since you got “kidnapped.”
Then the alarm screamed through the halls.
Tony flipped out of his chair, nearly falling over. “Shit”
“ALARM ONE, THAT’S EXTERNAL,” Sam yelled, sprinting toward the monitors.
Tony slammed his palm down on the console.
The screen flashed SURFACE SIGNAL DETECTED. ID: Y/N
Tony’s eyes widened. “It’s her.” He spun around. “Y/N’S SURFACED.”
Steve was already moving grabbing his shield, grabbing his jacket, his whole body locked in battle mode.
“Move. NOW.”
They found you sitting on the hood of a beat-up truck, swinging your legs. looking up at the stars
Steve stormed up, skidding to a stop when he saw the dark angry bruises around your wrists.
He went still. “You tell me which one touched you like that,” he growled, voice shaking with fury. “I’ll break them in half.”
You grinned, “Relax, Cap. I’ve had worse from a pissed-off goose.”
Tony choked behind him. “What the fuck kind of geese have you met pippin”
They bundled you back underground, half fussing, half grilling you the whole way.
Everyone circled you like hawks in the debrief room, questions fired at you from every direction.
Steve asked “How did you get the files?”
Tony asked “How did you survive this long without us?”
Natasha: asked “Did you blow something up? Tell me you blew something up.”
You kicked your feet up on the table, grinning. “They gave me the files.”
There was dead silence.
Natasha raised a brow at you “You slept with them.”
You tilted your head, pretending to consider it.
“Or cried,” Tony added, smirking.
You grinned wickedly. “Both.”
Tony let out a scandalized mock yell. Steve looked like he was about to combust. Natasha just shook her head and muttered, “Icon.”
the rest hid behind hands and sniggering.
God, it was good to be home.
You sat cross-legged on the edge of the medical bed after all the questions.
Steve paced the length of the room like a caged animal. Every time he caught sight of the angry red welts around your wrists and ankles, he made this noise under his breath. Half a growl, half a dying noise you’re pretty sure you’ve only ever heard from cornered animals before.
“Y/N,” he finally said furious, “I’m going to kill them.”
You laughed “Relax, Cap. I’ve had worse. Remember Budapest?”
Tony, who’d been aggressively typing something into the StarkPad, snorted so hard he almost choked. “Yeah, except back then you weren’t freshly kidnapped by an Asgardian drama queen and a super soldier with abandonment issues.”
You grinned at him, “Technically, we let them kidnap me,”
“They chained you to a goddamn chair.” Steve barked out.
“And then they gave me classified files and let me walk out with Bucky’s burner phone,” you pointed out helpfully, wiggling the stolen phone in the air like a prize. “which I was able to use to let you know to come get me.
Back in the conference room, it didn’t take long for Tony to pull the files.
The room fell into silence.
Photo after photo. Document after document. Experiments. Torture. Surveillance logs. Your name, over and over again. Files stamped with Hydra’s ugly black-and-red insignia. Records of every mission you’d ever run. Psychological profiles so detailed it made your skin crawl.
And not just you.
Steve. Natasha. Clint. Tony. Everyone. It was all there.
“How much do they know?” Steve whispered.
“Everything,” Tony said grimly. “For years.”
“They weren’t interrogating me,” you said quietly. “They were protecting me.”
Everyone turned to stare at you.
You huffed a humorless little laugh. “They were trying to figure out how much I knew. If I was compromised. If they were.” You trailed off.
Because they still loved you. Because they still trusted you.
You rubbed the heel of your palm against your eye, furious at the burn building behind your eyelids.
“They gave me the files,” you said, voice cracking just a little. “Because they wanted to. They’re going after the ones we couldn’t touch.”
Tony slammed his StarkPad onto the table hard enough to make everyone jump. “Yea well they still owe a goddamn apology and a five-star spa weekend.”
You snorted. “I’ll settle for a pizza.”
Steve crossed the room in two long strides and stopped in front of you, His hand curled loosely around your wrist, so careful not to touch the bruises.
“This is amazing Y/N you did amazing and we will bring them back home.”
And something in you broke a little bit.
You dropped your forehead against his shoulder “You’re such a sap,” you muttered.
Steve chuckled. “Yeah, well. You’re worth it.”
Around you, Tony cleared his throat loudly and pretended to check his watch, and Natasha muttered something about “idiots with hero complexes,” but neither of them moved away.
You realised, suddenly, you weren’t just fighting for Bucky and Loki anymore. You were fighting for this. For them. An you were going to win you promised yourself.

The silence stretched long after your words.
Bucky’s fists slowly unclenched at his sides. Loki’s shoulders lowered, though his whole body stayed taut.
Neither of them moved.
Finally, Loki spoke, voice low and careful. “What do you need from us, Y/N?”
You stared them down, jaw tight. You weren’t ready to make this easy. “What do I need?” you repeated, “How about the truth for once? No more half-answers. No more riddles. No more deciding for me what I can or can’t handle.”
“You want the truth?” Loki asked softly.
“Yes.”
He exchanged a glance with Bucky some silent, loaded conversation passing between them.
“We never planned to leave you behind,” Bucky said quietly. “We thought we’d come back for you. As soon as it was safe.”
Loki added, “But there was never a safe time. And the longer we stayed away
the more we convinced ourselves it was mercy.”
“Mercy would have been giving me the choice,” you rasped. “Mercy would have been trusting me to stand with you. Not abandoning me.” You stepped forward, slow and deliberate, until you stood in front of them. “If you want me to forgive you, Then you don’t get to decide anything anymore. Not without me.”
“Whatever you want, Y/N. Just say it.” Bucky agreed.
“Then listen carefully,” you said, “Because I’m not forgiving you tonight. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not ever. You’re going to have to fight for me.”
Both of them nodded without hesitation.
Both of them willing to spend the rest of their lives trying.
You sighed heavily “I’m leaving,” you repeated flatly, zipping up your jacket you took from the table. “And I’m taking the files. And if you so much as breathe a disagreement, I’m going to start listing every stupid thing you’ve ever done while I was tied to a chair.”
Bucky scowled, “You can’t just leave “You’re bleeding, you’re shaking, you smell like you went fifteen rounds with a wild animal, and you wanna walk out into the woods alone?”
You shrugged. “I’ll take my chances. wild animals like me.”
Loki’s mouth twisted, somewhere between a snarl and a smirk. “You are being ridiculous, darling.”
“And you are being clingy, darling,” you shot, patting his cheek “Deal with it.”
Bucky raked a hand through his hair and muttered something in Russian that sounded suspiciously like a prayer for patience.
“You don’t get it, do you,” Bucky said, voice low. “We let you go, we might not find you again.”
You smiled “Guess you’ll just have to trust me.”
Loki narrowed his eyes. “You expect us to simply watch you disappear? Again?”
You sighed theatrically, throwing your hands up. “If you want forgiveness, if you want trust, you’re gonna have to earn it. Step one: Let. Me. Go.”
There was silence, Then reluctantly they backed down.
You were halfway turned away when you pivoted, lightningquick, and snatched Bucky’s phone clean out of his back pocket
He blinked, startled but didn’t grab it back. “Really, doll?” he said dryly,
“Trust exercise,” you chirped, tucking it into your jacket. “You’re doing great by the way baby.”
Behind him, Loki’s lips twitched like he might actually laugh or murder you, hard to tell with him.
You winked over your shoulder. “See you around, boys.”
And with that, you vanished into the dark, leaving two of the most dangerous men on the planet standing in the dirt looking like kicked puppies

Chapter 10

“I asked why you left me.” Your head was lowered, your question met with silence.
You chuckled softly. “I should have expected the silent treatment, huh?”
Finally, Loki spoke, his voice calm. “You know the reason, Y/N. Hydra, SHIELD, survival, we did what we had to do.”
“You left me,” your voice was quiet, a thread of sadness slipping through. “You just left. Didn’t you trust me?”
“We thought we were protecting you,” Bucky muttered, his voice cracked and raw. “We thought you’d be safer if we stayed the hell away.”
“Protecting me?” You laughed bitterly. “I was the easy scapegoat. After you fled, I was the one left holding the bag. Everyone thought I was hiding you, or at least knew where you were. No one cared about me. And when they pretended to be satisfied, I became a joke. Pitied.” You shook your head, the words and tears spilling now. “I had to pretend I didn’t hear the whispers them mocking me. Couldn’t even hold on to her men.’” You sneered. “What a goddamn punchline I became.”
The rope at your wrist slipped slightly. They’d tied you but not tightly enough.
Rookie mistake.
Loki’s gaze flickered downward. He noticed, but it was too late.
In a sharp twist, you jerked your wrists hard, slipping free of the bindings, and before they could react, you were on your feet, stance defensive and your chest heaving.
“Y/N ” Bucky surged forward, but you raised your hands sharply, warning him back.
“Don’t,” you snarled. “Don’t even fucking try.”
Both men froze, watching you with a mix of caution, regret, and something else.
You backed a few steps away from them.
“I’m not some fragile thing that needs saving, Bucky. I was an Avenger too. Just because I’m not a god or some super soldier doesn’t make me weak.” Your voice hardened into steel. “I’m one of the best hackers alive. I’ve seen Hydra’s worst. I survived SHIELD’s lies. I know how to handle danger better than either of you gave me credit for.”
Bucky looked like he was physically restraining himself from grabbing you, from holding you.
“You think leaving was protecting me?” you spat. “It didn’t protect me. It broke me.”
A muscle ticked in Loki’s jaw. He took a slow step forward, hands raised in surrender.
“Y/N,” he said lowly, voice roughened by guilt. “We thought”
“You thought wrong.” Your words cut sharp.
“They’ve been working behind the scenes,” you confirmed. “SHIELD’s been more involved than you think. They’re everywhere. Covering their tracks. But they are getting sloppy.”
“And how do you know this?” Loki asked carefully, even though his heart filled with dread, as he knew the answer.
“Because I’ve been working against them,” you said. “I’m trying to do exactly what you are.”
Bucky’s face contorted in anger and panic. “You’re going to get yourself fucking killed!” he barked.
“Oh, now you care?” you snapped back. “Where was all that concern when you disappeared?”
“You think we stopped caring?” Bucky shouted. “You think we stopped loving you?”
Loki closed the distance slowly.
“You were never alone, Y/N,” he whispered. “We never stopped. Not for a second.”
You exhaled sharply, fists clenching.
“Well, here we are,” you said. “You are going to have to work with me, you need me.”
They stood there silent, two of the deadliest men alive and for the first time in a long time, you held all the power between you.
And you weren’t giving it up again.

FLASHBACK
Today was the day. You knew it the moment you stepped out of the apartment.
Across the street, sitting far too obviously at the curb, was the familiar beige sedan. Fucking S.H.I.E.L.D., still following you. Still thinking you hadn’t noticed.
Further down the block, another car. Two shadows inside watching you even closer.
Loki and Bucky.
You felt their presence.
You straddled your motorbike. No helmet. Reckless? Maybe. Necessary? Definitely.
In the other car, Bucky clicked his tongue. “No helmet, Doll,” he muttered.
Loki smirked faintly but didn’t look away. “She’s going to get herself killed.”
Your heart hammered in your chest. You twisted the throttle sharply, making the engine roar to life, and peeled off down the street at a speed that made both men tense.
You didn’t go far. With a sharp, controlled motion, you skidded to a stop, sliding the bike sideways until you were facing the beige sedan.
Before the agents inside could react, you were off the bike, gun drawn You pointed the weapon straight at them. “Stop fucking following me!” you snapped, your voice cutting through the evening air. “And if you’re gonna keep doing it”
You squeezed the trigger. Twice. The tires deflating instantly.
“learn to be a little more discreet about it.”
In the distant car, Bucky lets out a bark of laughter.
Loki’s mouth curved into a slow, pleased smile. “Glad to see she’s as feisty as ever,” Loki murmured.
You swung your leg back over your bike and peeled away, heart pounding, heading for the only place that still felt safe: Joe’s Bar.
Inside, it was dark and familiar. You shoved your way to the bar.
“A beer and a shot of tequila, Joe,” you said.
Joe didn’t argue. He poured the drinks, sliding them over with a small, knowing nod.
You downed the shot first, chasing the burn with a swig of beer, hoping it would steady the nerves clawing under your skin.
You dropped your bike keys onto the bar. “Take care of her, Joe.”
The old bartender’s face softened into a sad smile. “Good luck, Y/N.”
You pulled your hood up over your head, tucking away your face, your nerves and your fear. The weight of the moment pressing down on you.
“Well
” you muttered to yourself. “Here goes nothing.”
The cold air hit you like a slap. You zipped your coat up tighter around you.
You walked in the direction of your apartment. You knew they were somewhere near.
You stopped to look at the moon and sigh deeply and that’s when you heard it.
Heavy boots crunched behind you.
You didn’t have time to turn.
An arm snaked around your waist, yanking you back against a solid chest. A gloved hand clamped over your mouth.
“Easy, Doll,” Bucky’s voice rasped “Don’t make me hurt you.”
You thrashed instinctively or tried to but you were fighting against a super solider with a metal arm, you had no chance.
Somewhere in front of you, a figure emerged from the shadows tall and lean, his eyes borrowing in to yours.
Loki.
“You shouldn’t be out here alone, darling,” he said, voice thick . “There are dangerous men walking the streets!”You growled against Bucky's hand, kicking again.
Loki stepped closer, his fingers tilting your chin up tenderly.
A shimmer of magic danced along his fingertips
“You’ll thank us later,” he whispered against your lips.
And then he spoke words in a language older than time, letting the magic pour directly into you.
The world blurred, your muscles went slack, and the last thing you felt was Bucky lifting you easily into his arms, holding you tight against him.
“Got you, sweetheart,” he whispered into your hair.
Darkness swallowed you .
PRESENT
Both men snap their heads in your direction, both tensing at the question just asked and you waiting for the answer.

Loki’s hand flicks lazily in the air and suddenly, you’re arching in the chair.
Invisible chains snake up your arms and legs, tightening, spreading you open just a little more than before. Exposing you. Your limbs strained against the binds.
Your skin buzzes under his magic. It doesn’t hurt though, it’s worse than that it vibrates just under your skin, it's an unbearable tingling, like your nerve endings are being plucked one by one.
Then it happens before you can swallow it down before you can suppress it before you knew it was even happening a whimper escapes.
Both men freeze and then, they smirk.
“There we are,” Loki murmurs, voice dripping with satisfaction. He steps around you slowly, a predator circling prey. “No more bravado now, pet. No more empty threats.”
Bucky crouches in front of you, his face dark with emotion anger and lust flickering dangerously in his eyes.
“You wanna play tough, Doll?” he murmurs, his vibranium hand tracing a slow path up your thigh, so close but never where you need it. “You wanna pretend you’re not shaking that you dont wantto scream our names? Fine. We’ll play.”
He presses a kiss to your knee deceptively soft then lets his teeth graze the skin there, hard enough to make you jerk against your bonds.
“Let’s see how long that mouth of yours holds out once we stop asking so nicely,” Loki purrs, flicking his fingers again and something invisible drags along your inner thigh, it's featherlight, almost tickling. You thrash, unable to stop yourself
“You can scream, darling,” Loki urges you. “No one will hear you. No one will come.”
Bucky’s hands are relentless now pinching and nipping at your breasts without gentleness, making your body betray you, arching into his touch, desperate.
“You’re burning up, sweetheart,” Bucky whispers against your skin. “You want it. You need it. Tell us what we wanna know, and maybe we’ll let you have it.”
He leans down, his mouth brushing against your nipple, sending shivers racing down your spine. “Or maybe,” he murmurs, “we’ll just leave you like this, writhing and desperate.”
You’re body trembling, the pressure building is unbearable with no release in sight. And still, you grit your teeth and say nothing. Because you’re stronger than they remember. Because you have to be.
Bucky growls low in his throat, the sound animalistic, “Fuck it,” he mutters, voice rough, wrecked. “She wants to be stubborn? Fine.”
You’re ripped from the chair and forced down to your knees, he binds your hands behind your back.
“If nothing but lies is gonna come from that mouth, maybe we’ll find other uses for it, Doll,” Bucky sneers.
Before you can object, his cock is deep in your throat. Tears stream down your face as he uses you and God, you had missed the feeling of him.
You look up at him, your eyes widening at the angry stare burning down at you but all it does is turn you on more.
He pulls out with a snarl and turns you onto your stomach, lifting your hips, and with one brutal thrust, he buries himself inside you
He stills, just for a second, leaning over you, brushing the hair from your face. “Missed you so much, Y/N. Is this okay?” he whispers, brokenly.
And there it is the crack in the armor.
You nod. Yes.
Bucky growls, and then he’s moving a brutal pace, fucking into you hard enough to bruise, the sound of your bodies colliding echoing in the room.
His thrusts grow sloppier, rougher, until with a low groan he spills inside you, holding you tight against him for a moment, like he can’t bear to let go.
You barely have time to catch your breath before fingers tangle in your hair, yanking you back to your knees.
“I like it when you kneel for me, darling,” Loki croons in your ear from behind.
He spreads your knees wider and eases himself into you with a slow, deliberate push.
His hands roam over your chest, his touch almost reverent, you feel the flicker of his magic around your core, you close your eyes, throwing your head back.
“Let go, Y/N,” Loki sings in your ear, . “Remember how this was?”
But you, just like with Bucky, won’t give him the satisfaction.
As much as you had missed this, you refused to make a sound.
You bit your lip when Loki’s mouth finds your shoulder, biting down as he spills into you, groaning your name against your skin.
And just thought for a moment it feels like old times.
Strong arms lift you, setting you gently back into the chair. Tying you up again, this time only only your wrists.
Loki conjures some clothes for you and a blanket which he gently places around your shoulders
Bucky leans heavily against the table, watching you sleep. His mind is spinning. What the hell just happened? The words echo in his head, but none of them feel right. You'd fought him, you were strong, stubborn and beautiful and then
 let him in.
Bucky drags a hand over his face, his jaw tight, his heart tight. Why did you let him?
Somewhere in the room, Loki watches too. She’s still mine, he thinks. She always will be.
But something about your struggle, the way you fought so hard before yielding lt intrigues him. You still wanted them. As much as they wanted you.
Loki brushes his fingers across his lips, where your taste still lingers.
You're not broken.
He smiles. “That’s my girl,” he thinks

BAM.
Bucky’s fist slams into the chair beside your head, splintering the wood, making you jolt. You don’t flinch not visibly. But your heart’s racing.
You blink up at him at both of them your spine straightening with stubborn, reckless pride.
“I told you,” you shout , “The only names I have are the ones I told you.” “I don’t know who’s running SHIELD anymore,” you hiss. “It used to be Director Nolan. But after you two fled, after Hydra turned everything inside out I became the enemy.”
The air thickens, but Loki and Bucky remain still.
“You think you’re the only ones who got abandoned?” you snap. “You think you’re the only ones left to rot? We were told to either fall in line or get sent to the Raft.”
Bucky takes a single step forward.
“You still could’ve come with us,” he says.
“You never fucking asked me!” you scream at him, voice cracking. “You just left. Not one word. Poof. Gone.”
You swallow back the tears burning your throat.
“Go to hell,” you spit.
The air feels thick. Your breath comes faster now, your heart pounding in your chest. You feel the urge to scream to fight them. But you know that’s not the answer. Not now. Not when they’re waiting for that slip-up, that weakness to surface.
There’s also the briefest shift in the room. A hesitation from both of them. It’s fleeting, but you feel it. They falter, just for a moment.
But it’s short-lived.
“You think this is a fucking game?!” Bucky roars, his voice echoing off the walls. His metal hand clamps around your throat again, trying to regain control.
Loki steps forward slowly, no longer smiling. His hands glow brighter now, magic thrumming dangerously in the air around him. “You mistake mercy for weakness, Pet. A mistake you will not make again.”
“Mercy? You snort., What mercy have you shown me, Loki?”
“You don’t get to play tough, Doll. Not here. Not with us. You’re going to wish you never opened that pretty little mouth.” Bucky threatens.
You can feel the violence, the tension building in the room, something was definitely about to break, and you only prayed it wasn’t you.
The muscles in Bucky’s arms are coiled tight, his fists clenching and unclenching around your neck, Loki’s magic hums louder, both unsure of what their next move will be
They’re losing it because of you. And a twisted sense of pride flares in your chest.
You stare Bucky down, your voice shaking but defiant. “Go ahead. Hit me. Break me. Tear me apart. I still can’t give you what you want.”
Something snaps in Bucky. You see it in the way his jaw clenches, his nostrils flaring. And for the first time in your life, you’re afraid of him. Maybe you’ve pushed him too far.
And just as you brace for impact for the pain Loki’s voice shouts through the air “Enough.”
He steps between you both, one hand pressing lightly against Bucky’s chest to hold him back.
“She wants the brute force,” Loki says softly, his eyes burning into yours. “She craves it. She expects it. Predictable, she always loved it, always loved when we took control.”
He turns his gaze back to you, a wicked smile curling his lips.
“No, darling. If you won’t give us your mind
” He leans in. “Then we’ll take your body instead.”

Your body was trembling from the strain, from the teasing touches , from the relentless interrogation that has your mind fraying at the edges.
But you still don’t break. And that’s starting to piss them off.
Bucky’s hand clamps around your jaw, not gentle this time. he forces your head up until you’re nose to nose with him. His grip is bruising, his fingers digging into your cheeks, and his breath fans hot against your face.
“You’re gonna look at me, Doll,” , his voice low and deadly. “No more hiding. No more pretending.” His thumb presses hard into your chin, forcing your mouth to part slightly, almost like he’s daring you to speak
Your hands clench into fists, the binds biting into your wrists. You glare at him.
And then You feel it. something that doesn’t feel quite you, in your head.
Loki.
You dart your eyes to the side and catch him standing just out of your line of sight, fingertips glowing faintly, whispering words under his breath in that silver tongue of his
It creeps up your body the Warmth the confusion and the Submission. You fight it, thrashing against the pull, Your breathing stutters and the room tilts slightly and you feel like your falling.
“Ah, there it is,” Loki purrs, stepping closer. He places two fingers against your temple not forcefully, but tender but the pressure inside your skull increases . “You’re slipping, pet. You feel it, don’t you? That sweet little mind of yours is beginning to unravel.”
Bucky watches, his eyes gleaming “You’re gonna tell us,” he says, voice low and certain, like it’s already decided. “You want to tell us.”
Loki’s voice slithers into your ear, making you shiver. “Say it, darling. Give in..”
The fight inside you wavers.
Bucky softens his grip just a fraction, thumb brushing your lower lip, gently he whispers
“You’re tired, sweetheart So tired of fighting. We could make it all stop. We could make it feel so good. All you have to do is tell us what we want.”
You shake your head weakly, blinking away tears you refuse to let fall.
But the spell
The spell is eating away at your defenses.
Loki hums approvingly, brushing your hair away from your damp forehead. “You’re not protecting them anymore, pet. You’re protecting yourself.”
He leans closer, lips barely grazing your forehead. “And even you know
 you can’t win this.”
Bucky’s hand moves sliding up, up until it’s pressed flat against your chest, feeling the frantic beat of your heart beneath his palm.
“Tell me their fucking names,” he demands, “Tell me, Doll. Let me take it from you. Let us make it better.”
You open your mouth and for one terrifying moment you almost do.
Your mouth parts but not to give them what they want.
Instead you

. laugh.
A broken, rasping sound, full of defiance and exhaustion.
Bucky freezes, his hand tightening on your chest, his eyes narrowing. Loki’s fingers still against your temple, suspicion flashing across his face.
You think I’ll crawl back just because you whisper sweet promises?” You scoff. “You think I’ll fall apart because you pull the clothes of my body and play nice with your hands or do a little Asgardian party magic?”
You laugh bitterly, voice trembling with anger.
“You don’t get to make me want you and then call it power. You lost that right when you tied me to this chair.” You look straight in Buckys eyes, your noses practically touching your lip curling in a smile. “You boys are slipping.” And you slump back in to the chair
For a moment the room goes dead silent.
The only sounds are your ragged breathing.
Then Loki’s smirk returns, only this time unnerving. “Still so spirited, darling. We never did break you, did we?”
You lean forward despite your restraints, jaw clenched. “You never will.”

The room was dead silent you could hear the thumb of your heart.
Then Bucky moved.
His hand slammed into the back of your chair, rattling it hard enough that your teeth clacked together.
You flinch
“reynolds? Ford ?” his voice furious . “ You’re telling me that’s all you’ve got?”
You kept your gaze steady,
“It’s the truth,” you explain. “You think they trusted me after everything that happened? After you vanished?”
Bucky’s jaw worked, muscles flexing tight, You could see the war inside him
“You’re lying,” he growled, grabbing a fistful of your hair and dragging you closer, your faces inches apart. “You always were good at it. Even when you said you loved us.”
The words hit like a slap. when had you lied to them, was it just words he was using to hurt you or had he actually thought that. But you didn’t look away.
“If I was lying,” you whispered you mouth inches from his, “you wouldn’t still be standing there needing to believe me.”
As you both stare at each other, Your eyes flash with anger, and your jaw clenches. but you look at Bucky eyes you see the hurt and just as quickly, the anger melts into something else, a crack in your resolve, You can’t let them see it. Not yet.
Loki’s voice cuts through the tension he had been awfully quiet through out this. “I can see it in your eyes, y/n ” he says. “You’re losing your grip. Just a little more, and you’ll break. but your wrong if you think that’s enough Two names. No structure. No orders. No leadership.”
He crouches low beside you, “We know you’re protecting something. We can smell it on you.”
Bucky releases your face with a rough shove, pacing behind you, his hands running through his hair like he’s barely holding it together.
“She’s holding out,” he mutters. “She always was a stubborn little thing.”
He slams a fist into the wall behind you, the crack echoing through the room making you flinch despite yourself.
Loki’s gloved fingers trace lightly down your arm . “What was that little flicker in your eyes, hm?” he asks . were you thinking of us? i don’t think so it was a different look. “Steve.” He smiles like a wolf baring its teeth. “You thought of him. Of your dear, noble captain. Don’t lie.”
You say nothing. You bite down hard on the inside of your cheek to stay silent.
“You’re going to tell us everything, sweetheart,” Bucky says hoovering over behind you, trapping you between him and Loki.
“One way
” Loki leans in, his palm sliding up your bare thigh, inching dangerously high again and connecting with your core “Or another,” he finishes smoothly, his fingers giving you the release you so desperately needed, but still you managed not to make a sound. But you weren’t sure how much more you could take.
before you could breath Bucky’s fingers trail up your arm again, deceptively light “You wanna keep playing stubborn, Doll?” Bucky murmurs, His hand fists in your hair, jerking your head back your face grimacing at the pain “You’re gonna break. You always do.”
Loki chuckles darkly beside you, watching the way you struggle, the way you fight yourself not to give in.
“Oh, look at you,” he voice sounding cruel. “So proud. So loyal.” He leans down, his lips brushing yours . “But you’re leaking all over the floor, Pet. Every move, every flinch it’s delicious.”
Bucky leans in “Give us a name, a location something,” he growls.
“I already told you what I know” you spit.
Bucky’s knife reappears He drags it slowly up your sternum, not enough to cut, but enough to leave a cold trail in its wake. “try again, sweetheart,” he says.
You swallow thickly, chest heaving, body betraying you. You can feel the blood in your mouth with how hard you are biting your lip.
Loki presses a soft, kiss to the corner of your mouth. “You miss us,” he whispers. “I can taste it. You miss me,” he teeth scrapping gently against your throat before he bites down. . “Tell me.”
Your heart slams against your ribs, your body trembling under the strain.
“I......”, but stop yourself.
Loki tuts softly, shaking his head. “So disappointing, Pet.”
Bucky pulls back and for a terrifying second, you think he’s going to leave you hanging, cold and alone. But no he moves fast.
The chair you’re tied to scrapes violently across the floor as Bucky grabs the back of it, dragging you closer to the wall, pinning you between his body and the cold stone. You can’t move. You can barely breathe.
His hand slides roughly up your thigh again no more teasing as his fingers dig into your skin.
“You belong to us,” he says.“You always have.
Loki stands just behind him, “Yield, darling,” he commands. “Give us what we want. And we’ll make you feel again.”
Your body is screaming for relief, for something to break the unbearable pressure coiling inside you. his offer was too tempting
But your mind your heart you are still fighting.Still trying to protect them.
Tears prick at your eyes as you stare defiantly up at them .“You’re gonna have to do better than that,” you rasp, voice broken but stubborn.
Bucky’s eyes darken and, he smiles not one you've ever seen before but one so sadistic you began to question yourself would you actually be able to last.

Previous Chapter
You’re still tied to the chair, every inch of you screaming and stiff. You groan and try to shift to get comfortable, but the bonds are too tight.
“Any chance of you letting me go yet?” you joke, but there’s no smile behind it.
“You know, Pet,” Loki murmurs, his voice dripping with menace, “it’s becoming rather tiresome, this game. I know you have what we need. Why make us tear it out of you, hm?”
“You’re smarter than this,” Bucky states. “We’re not here to play. You know we can get what we need from you, We know you have something, I can see it in your eyes. You’re hiding something, Y/N. And we will make you talk.”
You raise your chin defiantly. “I’m not hiding anything. You can keep playing your games, but I’m not giving you shit.”
Without warning, Bucky’s hand moves to your throat, tightening around you. Your pulse quickens, but you refuse to show fear. He leans in closer.
“You really think you can keep your secrets, huh?” His fingers flex slightly.
Bucky’s anger radiates off him. His grip grows more possessive. “You think you can protect whoever’s pulling your strings, huh?” His voice is low. “Tell me. What’s SHIELD’s next move? What are they planning?”
He leans over you now, caging you in, his body a wall of heat and pressure.
“We know you have something,” he growls, “and I’ll make sure you regret holding back if you don’t start talking.”
Frustration boils over when he is met with your silence. Without warning, Bucky yanks your hair back, forcing your head to tilt up, causing you face to wince.
“You know we don’t play fair,” he snarls. “So tell me, Y/N who the hell do you think you’re protecting? SHIELD? Hydra? Or are you just pretending to be some kind of hero?”
Loki interrupts. “Be specific, darling. Who is really pulling SHIELD’s strings now? Who’s running it all?”
You still say nothing.
“Who’s running SHIELD, Y/N?” Bucky demands again. “Tell us. And don’t pretend you don’t know. You’ve seen the signs. The movement. We need answers now. Where are the files? Where are their plans?”
You fight to keep your breathing steady.
Bucky grips your chin tightly, forcing your gaze up to meet his. He snarls “Who makes the fucking calls, Y/N?”
Loki watches. “I suggest you answer, darling,” he purrs, leaning close enough that his breath brushes your ear. “You don’t want to make this harder than it has to be.”
Bucky draws a knife, slow, and deliberate and places it lightly against your sternum.
“We were so good together, Y/N,” he murmurs. “We know you still love us. And we never stopped loving you.”
He rips the blade downward, splitting your shirt. He tears at your trousers, frustrated when the fabric gets trapped. He unwraps one leg first to see if he can remove the torn material that way but then you sigh out loud in relief as you’re finally able to stretch your limbs .
Bucky watches, silent, as you close your eyes and flex your ankle. You eyes open when you feel his hands gentle, massaging the cramped muscles.
He reties your leg looser this time and does the same to the other. what you don’t notice yet he has tied them a little bit further apart.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
You narrow your eyes at him when you feel his hand grazing the inside of your ankle, then sliding higher, brushing your calf, your knee. slowly getting higher.
You stare straight ahead, willing yourself to stay still, to show nothing but you can’t suppress the shiver when his touch drifts higher still, featherlight against your inner thigh.
He grazes your core ever so lightly and you hold in a breath, you blink slowly and concentrate on your breathing but when he does it again and again, you cant help but start to move.
“There she is,” Bucky smiles, satisfaction in his voice. “There’s my girl.”
His touch grows faster. You squirm against the chair, helpless against the way your body responds.
Just as you are about to shatter, he stops.
Your head snaps toward him, a desperate, furious glare in your eyes. Bucky only chuckles. “Aww, sweetheart,” he taunts. “You don’t think you’ve earned that yet, do you?”
He leans in, lips brushing yours.
“Now tell me. Who’s running SHIELD?”
It goes on. And on. The teasing is relentless, Sweat beads on your forehead. Every nerve on fire.
Just when you think you can’t take anymore, hes stops again but this time for longer,
He takes a moment to look down at you, you close your eyes and try to calm your body. You thoughts go to Steve.
Flashback:
You stand with your arms crossed, watching Steve pace by the window.
“We can’t leave them in the dark forever,” you say, “Bucky and Loki they deserve to know. They need to trust us.”
Steve sighs heavily, dragging a hand through his hair. “I don’t like this, Y/N. Giving them information could put you in more danger than ever. And we need to try to clear their names without putting them in danger”
“I know,” you cut in. “But Steve we need them. We need them to take down the parts of Hydra and SHIELD we can’t reach.
He hesitates and then nods, slowly.
“Okay. But not everything,” he says gruffly. “Only what they need to know. No Resistance names. No underground ties.”
You nod. “Just the names tied to Hydra’s current moves. I’ll leave everything else out.”
He steps closer, resting his hands on your shoulders
“Be careful, Y/N,” he says softly. “Don’t trust them fully. Not yet.”
You step forward impulsively and hug him tightly.
“We’ll bring them back, Steve. I promise. You’ll have your best friend back. Thor will have his brother.”
Steve hugs you back fiercely, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “I hope you’re right,” he whispers.
Flashback ends:
You’re yanked back to the present as Bucky’s hands roam again.
“Oh no, sweetheart,” he croons. “You don’t get to block this out.”
You tremble with need, every muscle tight and strained.
You need to choose your words carefully. Very carefully.
“I don’t know who’s running SHIELD now,” you rasp. “After you left everything changed. They stopped trusting me. Revoked my clearance. I barely get scraps these days.”
Bucky’s jaw clenches a flicker of guilt flashes across his face.
You swallow hard, forcing yourself to sound broken, defeated. “The names I have left are Agent Reynolds and Operative Leo Ford. Both were still active in containment and counterintelligence the last time I checked. But if you’re looking for who’s pulling the real strings now
” You slump forward, exhausted. “I don’t know anymore. I really don’t.”
You pray silently, desperately hoping that it’s enough.
