KARD gets Wild in London Town
MyMusicTaste brought super-rookie K-pop group KARD to the University of London’s Student Central on 1st September 2017. With the London leg of the Wild Tour in Europe selling out within an hour of release, fans even started a petition to get a second date. The South Korean group made up of J.seph, B.M, Somin and Jiwoo, officially made their debut from DSP Media in July 2017.
Fans queued from the early hours of the morning to try and get as close to the stage as possible for the perfect view. The queue was full of commotion, from fan projects to blasting music out loud, as they got ready to party with KARD. Even the manager set up a project where fans could submit questions to the “Ask KARD” board for the Q&A session scheduled as part of the night.
Tumblr media
KARD opened the concert with the English version of Don’t Recall. As they stepped onto the stage, all dressed in purple, they were greeted with roaring cheers from the audience. Next, Kard belted out their debut single, Oh NaNa and a cover of Rihanna’s Monster. The excitement failed to fizzle out as the audience sang along to every word with the occasional wave of cheers during the instrumentals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After each member introduced themselves, it was time for the Q&A session featuring their manager’s “Ask KARD” board. This portion of the show created an intimate atmosphere as the fans got to know the quartet. B.M being American, helped with translating his fellow members’ answers.
The question on everyone’s mind was “what did you first think of the members?”
The crowd cheered and cheered whilst waiting for their answers, encouraging KARD to open up their hearts. One by one, we learned that B.M was like a big brother, the boys considered the KARD ladies as their sisters, and funnily enough, the others thought member, J.seph was scary at first but they assured us he is a nice guy once you get to know him!!
Time was running out as we got to the last request of the night, which was for the group to perform a dance, American-style. Despite having just a few moments left, J.seph dropped the beat as B.M brought the sauce before rushing off stage for the next segment. Needless to say, the crowd went wild!
Tumblr media
KARD went on to do more cover performances. Starting with another Rihanna track, Jiwoo and J.seph performed  Bitch Better Have My Money. B.M and Somin performed together to Ariana Grande’s The Way. The four member group then came together, continuing to showcase their vocals by performing hit songs: Side to Side, Empire State of Mind and, I Can’t Stop. The crowd continued to show excitement and energy with someone even shouting out “J.seph is brighter than my future” due to their glossy white outfits.
To calm down the energetic crowd, KARD played charades, giving out Polaroids and albums as prizes. Everyone wanted the chance to guess the correct word, a little salty if they were close but got it wrong!
This segment showed another side of KARD, as they got up close and personal with audience members, selecting a few lucky fans to choose their favourite Polaroid image.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The concert continued as KARD performed Rumour and then the song everyone was waiting for... Hola Hola. The energy levels shot up as the crowd sang along filling the hall whilst stomping their feet to the beat.
Tumblr media
After a quick costume change, the group returned to the stage in black Hidden KARD tops and white bottoms for their final performances of the night: the Korean version of Don’t Recall and Living Good.  KARD interacted a lot with their fans by reaching out to the first-floor balcony seats as well as those who were standing. Jiwoo leaned over to touch a fan’s hand and J. Seph splashed the crowd with water before taking another fan’s golden sunglasses. In between performances, KARD held UK flags and made sure to take a group photo with the audience to commemorate the moment.
Tumblr media
As the show came to an end, meet and greet ticket holders were moved into another room. The high touch segment flew by in seconds, and last but not least, we took a group photo. With no barriers between fans and KARD, the members held out their hands to make hearts, allowing fans to complete them with theirs, ending the night picture-perfectly.

Korea HipHop Fest Vol.2 in Busan
Oh my Hush Hush, fam, we have so much to tell you!
We heard that the Korea HipHop Fest V2 was going down in South Korea’s second largest city, Busan. At first, we hesitated a little since the venue was almost four hours away from where we were in Seoul but that all changed once we saw the fabulous line up. Over 30 artists from the industry including the greats like Dok2 and The Quiett from Illionaire Records, Heize, Loco and Gray from AOMG, VMC and so many others were gathering under one roof for three explosive days of pure hip hop bliss. We absolutely had to be there.
We jumped on the KTX express train from Seoul to Busan (and stood for most of the way, reservations are difficult in Korea!!!) and in a few hours, we made it to Bexco just in time for day two and three of the festival.
Tumblr media
Day Two:
Illionaire Records, Ambition Muzik, Jessi, VMC, Ignite and Hwana formed a fabulous line up for the second day of the festival. VMC performed “Ye I Need” with DJ Son and DJ Vani Dong keeping the crowd hooked on the beat. Whilst Jessi kept it “Gucci” performing her latest song.
Tumblr media
First up from the Illionaire-Ambition set was Keem Hyo Eun. He belted out a new version of Prime Time from The Quiett’s latest album, Millionaire Poetry. He delivered hit after hit with “Rapstar” and “LA LA LA”. He was soon joined by label-mate, Changmo. Together, the two Ambition artists performed their new single “One more Rollie”. The crowd lapped it up, shaking their fists and stamping their feet in time with the music. Keem Hyo Eun’s set complete, Changmo took the floor performing hit song, “Aya”.  Every crowd has a favourite, and here it was “Maestro.” Changmo’s throaty voice vibrating across the venue got everyone’s inner rapper going. All around us, people were pounding out the lyrics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Changmo ended his set and for a few moments, the stage was engulfed in darkness. We all knew who was coming up next. The air thick with electric tension in near silence, everyone was waiting for the Illionaire boys to come out on stage. Every now and then, a hand shot up into the sky in the shape of the Illionaire sign. The boys know how to make an entrance. Pyrotechnics on point, smoke filling the stage, Dok2 and The Quiett burst on to the stage with “Beverly Ills”. The crowd completely lost it, screaming out the lyrics, jumping up and down and shaking their Illionaire signs in the air. The dynamic pair performed hit after hit from across their discography. We heard “2 Chainz and Rollies”, “YGGR”, “Most Hated”, “Am I” and “1llusion”
Tumblr media
A Climatic End – don’t miss the train home!
The closing line up for the festival promised a fiery night with performances by Reddy, Paloalto, Cheetah, Huckleberry P, Just This, Sik-K, and AOMG’s Loco and Gray. We were super excited so this time, we prepared ourselves for a long day of queuing to get a close as possible to the front of the stage!
After hours of queuing, we finally got into the venue, securing a place right in front of the stage. As the hall slowly filled up, the crowd were getting more and more excited as it got closer to the start of the concert.
Opening the show was Just This, who got the crowd singing along to every word. Next up was Hi-Lite’s Paloalto, Huckleberry P, and Reddy. The crowd jumped to the beat of the song, waving their hands in the air as Paloalto performed. Fellow label-mate, Huckleberry P joined the stage to perform before the two continued the hype by performing “Turtle Ship” together. Finally, it was time for Reddy to take the stage. The crowd was treated to a range of songs from SMTM5’s “$insa” to “Ocean View”. Reddy was later joined on stage by surprise guest, Chancellor to perform “ Hot Moscato D`Asti” from his latest album “Universe”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reddy finished his set and soon to come was Cheetah who delivered her fierce rap in “Coma ‘07” as the crowd went wild. During her performances she engaged with the audience, even giving the mic to a young fan who sang their heart out to “Like Nobody Knows” before Cheetah finishing off her set.
Tumblr media
As Cheetah left, the crowd slowly quietened down before Sik-K blew up the stage keeping the party going delivering songs from his latest album, “party(Shutdown)”, “XYZ” and “Chit Chat Ting”.
Tumblr media
As Sik-K’s stage slowly came to an end the stage was overtaken by darkness. It could only mean one thing… it's time for the famous duo CORAY! The crowd sang along to the “A.O.M.G”, with DJ Wegun on the decks, as Loco appeared from the side of the stage. The venue was filled with screams and cheers as Loco continued his set performing hit tunes before Gray burst onto the stage during “R.E.S.P.E.C.T”. The crowd went crazy, making sure to belt out the lyrics! They continued to perform together during “GOOD” before Gray was left to perform solo. They performed numerous hits across their discography. We heard “Hold Me Tight”, “You Don’t Know”, “Da Da Da”, “Summer Night”, “In my Head”, “Comfortable”, “Just do it” and “No Manners”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loco and Gray completed their set. The lights went out and the cheers slowly started to die down. The Korea HipHop Festival Vol.2 was over and we needed to get the last train back to Seoul!

Now Hush Hush meets 24K at UK’s 1st ever K-pop Fan Signing!
Now Hush Hush Guest Writer, Hannah Knight covers 24K’s fan meeting in London:
Fans were lined outside from the early hours of the morning on the 9th of August, excited for the second concert held by 7 member group 24K in London. Unlike most concerts, this was a little different from the norm. The number of Korean artists coming to the UK has been increasing year after year, but this was the first fan signing event that has ever happened here. The event was hosted by Skey Ace and their team did a fabulous job managing a very busy day and some extremely excited fans!
