Could you do some dandy or sprout headcanons about them being like-half plant (???) I dunno how to explain myself but like reader healping whit lack of water or sunlight becuase they are plant toons and- (I'M SORRY, this is my first time doing a request sorry if i did it wrong)

Authors note: Hewo! Thanks so much for requesting. I decided to do both (separate of course) it’s nice to write for someone other than Astro, so I appreciate that! I tried my best to look up some quick things about caring for strawberries, but I might get some things wrong so I apologize for that.

He does have to sleep in a cold room, it helps prevent him from rotting. It sucks, but he always makes sure to get you extra blankets when your in his room.

You guys both spend time making homemade pest oil in him and Cosmos kitchen. It’s a nice little time and since it doesn’t require heat, you don’t have to worry about him forgetting to turn the oven off (lol)

Sometimes Sprouts leaves get a little bit overgrown, so you’re always the one who has to take care of it. The last time Sprout tried to do it himself he was pretty much bald. (Poor dude was crying for days) he’s a little bit tender-headed, so you have to make sure to be gentle.

Other than that, it’s not that much of a big deal, Since he’s a fully grown strawberry and not a flower.

But Dandy…oh boy….

He always has to be hydrated ALWAYS, if he doesn’t drink water every hour he will start to get dizzy and his petals might even look a little pale.

His room is always really bright, since he can’t go out in the sun, you’re almost certain that you’ve gone partially blind by how bright the white lights are. Luckily he turns them off when he’s sleeping.

I headcannon Dandy to be a sunflower, so I imagine his room being pretty darn hot. You always wake up sopping wet looking like a wet dog.

When it’s spring time, Dandy will start to emit pollen everywhere, and it can be a pain. Whenever you’re around him you will be sneezing and coughing your brains out. He tries to help you feel better but you just tell him to stay back so he won’t make it worse. He leaves notes underneath your door when this happens, always checking on you and telling you how much he loves you.

Even though these things can be slightly annoying, you still love him, and he still loves you.

“Mmm…”

A groan left Astros mouth as his eye slowly opened.

He slowly sat up and stretched out his arms, he looked tired and annoyed. Why the heck did he of all people have to wake up in the middle of the night, couldn’t his brain just let him rest?!

Oh…whatever, it’s not like it’s hard for him to just go back to bed. He sighed as he slowly laid back down, reaching for his lo-

Wait…

“Y/n…?”

Astro whispered

He was so tired he hadn’t even noticed that you weren’t in the bed.

“Y/n!”

He had started to panic. He quickly jumped out of bed and ran out of his room to find you.

He started by looking to see if you had went back to your room.

Astro went to your door, he raised a hand out of his blanket, hesitating, before knocking quietly on it.

“Starlight…are you in there…?”

He whispered quietly, as to not wake up the other toons.

No response.

He sighed, before turning and heading to the other mains rooms. Besides him, they were the only other toons you really hung out with, surely they would know where you were at! right? right?!

Astro knocked on the door of a certain strawberry.

The door swung open and Astro was greeted by a very unhappy Sprout.

“Astro…why are you up dude…?”

“Sprout, I apologize for disturbing you but…I woke up and I couldn’t find y/n next to me, do you know where they could have gone?”

“Sorry, I don’t have a clue….hope you find them tho”

Before Astro could even say a word, Sprout had closed the door to his room and went back to bed.

“Alright…thanks…”

Astro sighed and glumly walked away from Sprouts door, heading to the other mains rooms.

“No, I haven’t, sorry”

“Don’t know don’t care”

“Sorry bud, haven’t seen em”

“Arf!”

After questioning every main and getting no answer, or even a clue, Astro had begone to panic even more.

“Where could you have gone….?” “Why were you up so late?” “Did something happen…did you get hurt?? Or taken?!”

These were all thoughts that ran through his mind as he speed walked through the sleepy halls of garden view.

Finally after what felt like hours he had found you.

You were sitting in the center of garden view, resting your back on the giant tree with your head in your arms and knees.

“Starlight..!” Astro had yelled in a whisper.

He ran over to you, happy and relieved to see you after so lo-

Wait…were you…crying…?

“Y/n…?”

You sniffled, not answering and turning your head away from him.

Astro slowly walked over to you and sat down.

“What’s wrong…?”

“Nothing…just…go back to bed…”

He sat there for a moment.

“I refuse to just leave while you’re sitting here crying…you don’t have to talk immediately, but when you’re ready, I’m here…”

His tone was soft, comforting and inviting.

After a few moments, you felt ready enough to talk to Astro.

You leaned your head against his shoulder, wiping your tears and still sniffling.

One of his arms had escaped from his cornflower blanket and draped itself around your waist.

“Ready…?”

“Mhm…”

“Good…now, what happened Starlight?”

“Nightmare…”

There was a moment of silence before a small giggle left Astros lips.

“It’s not funny…”

“I’m not laughing at you…it’s just…you coulda just came to me instead of making me go on a wild goose chase…”

You fidgeted around with your hands.

“I didn’t wanna bother you…you were sleeping so peacefully”

“Y/n, you wouldn’t be bothering me, dealing with peoples dreams is my JOB…”

You both stayed silent for a moment.

“You’re right…I’m sorry”

You leaned more into his body, laying on his chest as he wrapped more arms around your own body.

“It’s fine.”

You both stared into space for a few moments, enjoying the peace and quiet of gardenview.

You had slowly started to calm down even more, no longer sniffling and instead letting out slow peaceful breaths.

“Do you wanna tell me what the nightmare was about..?”

“It’s kinda dumb…I don’t want you to laugh at me”

“I’ve dealt with very strange nightmares, and never once have I laughed at the person having them”

Astro could see that you still seemed hesitant.

“Y’know…one time Cosmo burst into my room crying because of a dream he had where cupcakes were chasing after him, trying to eat him.”

You let out a small laugh. Astro smiled, happy to see you somewhat happy.

He continued.

“Despite how silly it sounded, I could see how much it genuinely terrified him. So I sat with him and listened, without laughing once, you could ask him if you like”

He slowly removed one of his arms from your body and placed it underneath your chin, tilting it slowly upward so that you could look at him.

“I’m not going to laugh at you, I promise, I’m not that kind of toon”

You hesitated for a moment before sighing and nodding your head.

“the dream started with me in a room, it was pitch black, I couldn’t see a thing”

“Mhm…”

“I called out to see if anyone was there, but No one would answer, so I decided to walk around and see if I could find something…someone”

“Right…”

“I did end up finding…something…”

You were silent, you weren’t entirely sure that you wanted to continue.

Astro had noticed your hesitance. He gently took your hand into his, stroking the back of it in a soothing way, wanting you to feel comfortable.

“I found…you…”

Astro had paused his movements for a moment.

“Oh…?”

“Yeah…but like…it wasn’t you…”

He nodded.

“Could you explain, please…?”

You sat there for a moment and then nodded.

“You were…taller, your eyes were red and there was this black stuff all over you…maybe it was ink.”

Astro had started to look worried.

“Go on…”

“You looked really aggressive, eventually you had even started to chase me”

Tears started to well up in your eyes, you turned your head away.

“Sorry, that was a pretty dumb thing to be so afraid of”

Astro was now eerily silent, he started to look somewhat nervous.

“I’m sorry” he suddenly blurted out

You were confused. You wipes your tears and looked over at him.

“What for?”

Astro didn’t answer. He didn’t wanna talk about how your dreams were starting to get affected by his worries…his secrets. He felt guilty that you were losing sleep because of him.

“I-I’m sorry that you had to go through that…I’m sorry that you felt like you couldn’t come and talk to me.”

He held your body closer to his.

“It’s not dumb, I would be afraid too if I saw something like that happen to you…dream or not.”

You both stayed silent yet again. A small smile appeared on your face as you wrapped your hands around Astros waist.

“Thanks for letting me talk”

“Of course.”

“….”

“How about some late night hot chocolate…?”

“That sounds nice actually”

You both let out a small laugh.

Astro let go of you and sat himself up carefully walking off of the big tree area and heading to the kitchen.

You got up as well, following his lead.

“Astro”

“Hm…?”

“…love you…”

He stopped in his tracks, before looking over at you with a small smile.

“Love you too Starlight…”

Authors note: Hello! I’m pretty Good actually, Thank you so much for making the first request on this blog! I really appreciate it, sorry for the wait, I had rewritten it a couple of times so I wasn’t able to get this to you yesterday. I haven’t written anything in a lil while so I apologize if the writing sounds a bit awkward hehe.

Astro loves to make pillow forts for you two to cuddle in, he’s an expert at making them and they are always so so comfy! You usually sit on his lap as he covers you both with a blanket.

He most definitely runs his hands through your hair (if you have any that is) You will be lying on his chest, talking about your day, and he will be too focused on getting the knots out of your hair.

“Astro, did you hear what I said?”

“…”

“Astro…?”

“…”

“Moonie…?”

“You need to brush your hair more, it’s starting to get tangled”

“What…?”

Most of the time, he likes to be big spoon, but when he’s not having the best day he’ll shyly ask if he can be little spoon (you always say yes).

If you hold his hand, he will get flustered. He could be talking, and he feels you hold his hand and he’ll just turn into a puddle. He will most definitely be a lot more quiet after that.

We all know that Astro is a very stealthy toon, so I could imagine he would like to give surprise hugs from behind. He only really does this when you two are alone though.

He has scared you on accident at times, but he always apologizes.

When it’s bedtime, he likes to lay in bed and read you a bedtime story.

“It’s getting pretty late..”

“Yeah, Im starting to get tired”

“Want me to read you a bedtime story?”

“Im not a child, astro”

“…so is that a no…?”

“…”

It was not a no.

If you two are cuddling in his room, You will basically be shivering. His room has too be cold or else he will wake up super sweaty.

Once, you tried to turn the ac down in his room when he was asleep, he woke up looking like a soggy cat.

I have a personal headcannon that the closer you physically are to Astro the more clear your dreams will be. Because of this, Astro will hold you very close to him while sleeping. His lower arms are wrapped around your waist while his upper arms are holding your head close to his chest.

Speaking of dreams. Ever since you have been with Astro, your dreams have been so much better. They always had something to do with going on a fun adventure, like being a pirate searching the seas for treasure. Or they were calm dreams, sitting in a field with all your favorite flowers and getting to look at the light blue sky, making out shapes in the clouds.
