Jealous Wife HCs - Rob Lucci

At first, Lucci doesn't pay it any mind. His wife has no reason to be jealous, and he assumes she'll realize that on her own. Even her silent treatment does very little to phase him.

His nonchalant attitude towards his wife giving him the cold shoulder doesn't last forever, though. They're both stubborn, and he knows that, but his wife's persisting jealousy will eventually sour his mood so he tries to mellow her out.

Lucci tries to start casual conversations that end up being one-sided on his end; he attempts to set up a truce by cooking his wife’s favorite meal for her just for her to let it spoil; and he even threatens to leave for weeks on end if she continues to ignore him. Nothing works, though. 

He can't stand it after too long. She's his wife for crying out loud. He chose to share his life with her, so what was there to be jealous of? She’s strong, gorgeous, and pretty damn brave if she's willing to spark some anger in a callous man like himself.

Whatever the case is, he believes he's had enough of her irrational jealousy so he begins his way over to her with the intention of setting her straight. However, before he can get far, Hattori makes an effort to intervene.

The wide-eyed pigeon raises a fuss at his lifelong companion, knowing just what Lucci was planning to do. Obviously annoyed, the agent crosses his arms and peers patiently at Hattori, who raises a wing toward a painting of a flower that's conveniently hanging up in the hallway.

As Hattori coos eagerly at the idea, Lucci can't help but furrow a brow. Flowers? What good will those do? Surely, his wife wouldn't drop her silent treatment for some lousy plants. He just couldn't wrap his head around the idea, but Hattori seemed so persistent that the agent take his advice.

Begrudgingly, Lucci winds up purchasing a large bouquet of roses accompanied by a card that was merely signed "I apologize. Please say something." Sort of cliché, he thought. It wasn’t going to work. He just wasn’t good with tending to other people’s emotions, it was never is thing. Why she agreed to marry him is beyond his comprehension. 

Now standing out of view from his wife, he feels absolutely defeated. Could he really go through with this? Was this really necessary? He didn't even know what he was sorry for, he just wanted to remove this burden and go back to how things always were with his wife. Kind of sappy, but these were his own thoughts and no one else could hear them, so he held no regrets.

Swallowing his pride and determined to get this over with, he hides the bouquet behind his back and saunters his way into the room where his wife sat looking out the window, appearing bored with a hint of sadness in her wondering eyes. She wouldn't look at him, but he knew that she knew he was there.

"I brought you something you might like," is all he said to earn a side-eyed glance. With a heavy sigh, he brings the bouquet out from behind him and presents it to her. This must've peaked her interest because she takes the bouquet from his hand and admires the finely blooming roses.

She finally gets to the card, and Lucci leans against the wall on the other side of the window, peering through the glass as his wife did before. Nothing. Not a word is said, not a whisper is heard. Just silence.

Nevertheless, Lucci holds out his hand and waits. Time slows down for a brief moment, but picks back up when he feels the warmth of his wife's palm nestled within his own. He lightly tugs at her to pull her out of her seat and guides her toward himself before the two embrace, and time seems to stop altogether.

The atmosphere is still silent aside from Hattori's soft cooing from somewhere within the room, but this silence is oddly comforting.

Christmas event!

Hi all, happy (early) holidays!! 

Ok, I said I’d start this when I was done with all requests but… to hell with it. I have no self-control nor patience. 

As announced last month, I’ll be holding a Christmas/New Years event for you all to enjoy! I’ve written my own holiday alphabet, which you can find here. From now until december 31st, 12 am CET, you can ask me letters from it! 

What are the rules for this event? 

You may ask for one request at a time, meaning that once your request is done, you’re allowed to submit a new one! If I get a second request from you when the first is not done yet, it will be deleted. 

Each ask should contain only 1 character and 1 letter.

Hi anon! More Kid fluff coming up! Enjoy! ❤ Hidden behind the word detective was this prompt: 

Each day, an event appears on your arm that your soulmate will face today.

Rays of sunshine trickled into your room through the little gaps between your curtain and the wall as you woke up. You stretched and looked at your arm. It was your ritual, every morning when you woke up, you’d look at your arm and check what your soulmate would face today.

From these events, you had already gathered your soulmate was a pirate. You’d seen ‘setting out to sea’ and ‘being chased by marines’ already. You’d also seen ‘losing an arm’, which made your heart sink and your stomach churn. Today though, you had to check, rub your eyes, check again and pinch yourself to make sure you saw this right and you weren’t dreaming.

Meeting soulmate

It was really there. Today you’d meet them. If they didn’t lose their arm with the events on it, they would see it too. You got excited and decided to spend some extra time getting ready that morning, wanting to make a good first impression on your soulmate.

Once you were all dressed up and ready for the day, you left the house. You had no idea where to go or what to do, but you figured you had to be outside to meet them. After walking around for a bit, you decided to sit down on one of the benches on the town square. Your soulmate would only have one arm, so you figured they wouldn’t be too hard to spot. The square was very calm with only a few passerby’s, so when you heard a commotion coming towards the square, you immediately looked up. Two men were running, looking behind to see if they were being followed. That’s when you noticed one of them, the red-haired one, had a fake arm. You saw which alley they turned into, and you realised that it was a dead end. Not long after, a marine officer showed up with a lot of soldiers behind him.

“Sir! Are you looking for those ruffians? I saw them heading that way!”

You officer thanked you and went the way you pointed, which would lead him to the other side of town.

“Hey you! Why’d you help us?”

You simply held out your arm, which still said ‘meeting soulmate’. The man looked at you and then at his own arm, which you noticed carried the same words.

“I knew you’d only have one arm.”

The red haired-man looked at you and smirked.

“Well then, what are you going to do, woman? We are being chased by marines and we’re leaving town as soon as we can. The only way for you to get to know me is by leaving this town behind and coming with me. Are you prepared to do that?”

You already knew your answer. After realising he was a pirate, you imagined this question would come sooner or later. This morning, once you found out you’d meet him today, you thought about your answer once more and you had no doubts in your mind as you responded.

“Lead the way.”

You two are so sweet! Your words really mean a lot to me and I hope I continue to meet your expectations haha.~ But I’m not gonna lie, writing for these boys was hard. I thought Yonji was going to be the easiest, but he probably gave me the most struggle out of the three (can you tell which brother I’m partial to? lol). With that being said, I hope they’re not too OOC, and if they are... my bad. I really hope you guys enjoy it, though!~ Thank you for the requests!~ 😁

General Relationship HCs - Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji Vinsmoke

Ichiji

Ichiji is probably the hardest one to form a proper relationship with as he tends to let his strong sense of superiority dictate his behaviors, though his actions aren't necessarily governed by choice. In order to be in a relationship with him, his S/O ought to meet his standards. He doesn't want someone who's weak-willed or easily discouraged by a challenge; he wants someone who can keep up with him and share his unwavering mentality.

He's often distant in the relationship, only seeking his S/O if he wants something from them or wishes to brag of Germa's victory from their latest battle. He's mostly talking about how he practically does all of the work each time, but it strokes his ego when his S/O listens intently and compliments him.

Being the eldest brother, he prefers to keep a dominant role in the relationship where he gets to make a majority of the decisions, feeling content as long as he isn't undermined. His S/O will have some say, of course, but if he feels like he's being forced to do something he hates, he won't refrain from putting his foot down.

Ichiji will only behave romantically if the mood calls for it, so if he's not craving attention from his S/O, he'll just remain unbothered despite his S/O's advances. He'll smile at their gestures, but he values his autonomy too much to let anyone, including his partner, sway his actions.

He puts a lot of value in his S/O's beauty, but not nearly as much as Niji and Yonji do. He tries to compliment their most alluring features, but they often sound like lecherous comments.

He certainly wants his partner to be loyal to him at all times, disliking when they scold him for his cruel and callous behaviors. It's confusing when his S/O claims to love him one second only to wish for him to change in the next. He feels belittled, and this doesn't sit well with him.

On a brighter note, he is very protective of his S/O, reacting violently when his S/O is in threat of danger. He can never keep a solid explanation for why he behaves in such a way toward them, but his S/O can speculate a few causes for his protectiveness.

Ichiji is not as active as his brothers, so time spent with his S/O often includes lounging around in silence or going for leisurely walks. Surprisingly, he does enjoy a good conversation with his S/O, finding amusement in their stories and hopeful plans for their future.

The eldest brother is rarely, if ever, affectionate with his S/O in public or in the presence of his family, but in private, he's much more willing to slink an arm around their waist or allow them to hold his hand. He doesn't quite understand his S/O's liking to his small affectionate gestures, but he will admit that he gets a good feeling from it.

Although maintaining a relationship with Ichiji comes with it's grueling challenges, there will always be moments that remind Ichiji's S/O that he willingly accepted to be in a relationship with them, and he does value his S/O. He just can't bring himself to say it so blatantly.

Niji

Of the three brothers, Niji comes across as the least desirable in terms of relationship material, but he may as well be the most considerate brother. Sure, he may lack sympathy and compassion for others, but he's still capable of forming a proper partnership with someone.

A relationship with Niji thrives on the idea of costs and benefits. He'll be more than happy to go on the little date his S/O planned for them as long as he gets something out of it, whether it may be a dessert he's been craving or a heated make out session by the end of the night. As long as he gets what he wants by the end of the day, he'll oblige his S/O's wishes.

He may be a tad more hotheaded than Ichiji when it comes to being questioned for his morally questionable behaviors. He'll yell and argue with his S/O, and maybe breaking something, but he won't raise a hand to them as he holds too much respect for them. The servants, on the other hand, may end up on the receiving end of his wrath, unfortunately.

Since he's got an explosive temper, his S/O has to be able bounce back from any fights or arguments that they have, or they should at least be comfortable with letting him have his episodes and not stir the pot. He'll calm down sooner than you might think, and he'll go back to being his regular self, as if the fight never happened. He never apologizes, but if his S/O does, he'll say that the feeling is mutual.

Among the three brothers, Niji is perhaps the most romantic and that's saying a lot on it's own. He's more attuned to what his S/O wants in the relationship, and he'll oblige so long as he gets what he wants, too.

Like Ichiji, Niji is very protective over his S/O, becoming visibly upset and worried when his S/O is hurt. He's the type to never show any mercy to those who harm his S/O, even if it was only an accident. In his mind, people ought to treat his S/O as if they're the most sacred person on the planet. Otherwise, they'd have to deal with him.

Niji also has a great sense of humor, as long as he doesn't feel like he's the butt of someone else's joke. He's prefers to laugh at someone else's expense, but if his S/O says something clever and sarcastic, he'll have a good laugh.

Being in a relationship with Niji is complicated and tricky, but if his S/O can navigate him towards his better self, he could make for a relatively charming boyfriend. And he may not come upfront with his love for his S/O, but he’ll remind them in his own unique way.

Yonji

Yonji is the most honest of his brothers, often speaking out about his desires and openly expressing what he likes, so it's obvious when he fancies the idea of a relationship. As long as his partner meets his standards, he'll gladly start a relationship with them.

He's terribly blunt, so when he flirts with his S/O, he's guaranteed to sound a bit sleazy. He doesn't mean to sound perverse all the time, but he honestly thinks he's being romantic and sweet with them. His S/O will have to teach him the difference, and whether he learns from it or not depends heavily on how mischievous he's feeling.

Yonji has a much better sense of humor than his two brothers, so his S/O is free to joke with him all they want. Pranks wars are another story. His competitiveness may lead to him taking things a bit too far if his S/O doesn't watch him. Aside from that, he genuinely enjoys making his S/O laugh until they're blue.

The green-haired Vinsmoke always tries too hard to impress his S/O with his strength and prowess. His idea is that if he keeps going over-the-top with everything he does, his S/O will continue to think highly of him, but he doesn't know that he looks like a dork sometimes. It might give his S/O a good laugh, though.

He particularly enjoys taking his S/O on dinner dates or picnic outings, as long as he's doing two of his favorite things: eating some good food and spending time with his S/O, one of his favorite people.

He absolutely loves it when his S/O is feisty. Nothing gets him more riled up than a partner who challenges him, and he'll sometimes push their button just to get them all fired up. He can't think of anything hotter than an irritated, yet gorgeous S/O.

As much as Yonji likes to spoil his S/O with expensive gifts and all the worshipping he can offer, he’ll never deny that he likes being spoiled. He wants his S/O to cuddle up to him, he wants them to surprise him with home-cooked meals even if those meals go wrong, and he definitely wants them to shower him with loving gestures and sweet praises. He is the baby, after all.

He's definitely a ride or die kind of guy, so if his S/O gets into trouble, he'll hop to the rescue in no time. If his S/O wants him to bend the rules a little bit, he's all for it. As long as he and his S/O are living it up and having a good time doing it, he'll gladly neglect his duties to Germa to have some fun.

Like his brothers, Yonji is very protective of his S/O, but he's less likely to throw punches unless he finally gets fed up with whoever was starting trouble. For the most part, he'll shield his S/O from any danger while bragging to his S/O that he doesn't feel a thing.

Yonji is also the most affectionate out of his brothers, always wanting to hold his S/O's hand and kiss their cheek. And though he can't explain why being with his S/O makes him feel warm and fantastic on the inside, he has a much easier time showing it through his actions. Even if Yonji's actions are a miss sometimes, his intentions are always there, and his intentions are to make his S/O happy.

Am I back and ready to mass produce some requests? I sure hope so! It’s been weeks and weeks since my last update, and I can’t bring myself to neglect your asks anymore, especially those that are still from May and June. I promise they’re in the works, I just tend to jump around a lot. And for some requests, I have everything finished for one or two characters in the request, but I’m still struggling to come up with things for the remaining characters (and I want the number of bullet points to be the same for each character so that’s taking some time, too). 

I will get these requests done, though, I’m sorry I can’t promise an exact time. My goal is to finish most, if not all, requests by December because I really, REALLY want to do a holiday scenario event.  Who knew the last semester of college could be so tiring? Not me... It’s always a pleasure to write for Buggy, my favorite One Piece character!~ I honestly don’t know what took me so long to finish this... and I’m terribly sorry for the long wait! Hopefully, you meant the SFW alphabet, but if not, please let me know! I’ll gladly write for him again using the NSFW alphabet. Buggy - SFW Alphabet Letters F, K, L

F = Fight – (Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?)

Buggy is generally a fun-loving guy, and someone has to really piss him off to get him in a fighting mood. With his S/O, however, their fights are likely to revolve around a number of issues including the clown's obsession with treasure, insecurities with his nose, or his habits of running away from terrifying situations (like arguments with his S/O).

He may argue with his S/O or try to explain himself through shouting, but he never insults them or tries to hurt their feelings, only asking for them to understand things from his perspective.

The main reason behind why Buggy runs away is that he often gets emotional during fights with his S/O. He feels guilty about it and cries a little bit only because he's afraid of his S/O leaving him.

Buggy always apologizes first, and he does so with flowers, balloons, and stuffed animals. If his S/O is still a bit upset, he does whatever it takes make them crack a smile. When they accept his apology, he'll pull them into the tightest hug and shower them with light kisses, expressing his gratitude the entire time.

If his S/O is the one who apologizes or asks for forgiveness after a fight, he's struggling to hold back tears. He's held a lot of grudges in his lifetime, but the second that his S/O utters an apology, Buggy will not hesitate to forgive them and offer his own apologies.

He'll promise to never fight with his S/O ever again because of how awful it was being apart from them. Of course, it’s a hard promise to keep but he does whatever it takes to keep another fight from happening, even if it means putting treasures and riches second to his S/O. Treasure is replaceable; his S/O is not.

K = Kiss – (Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?)

Buggy claims to be a fantastic kisser, but the real experience may tell another story. He's not terrible, though. He’s just a little awkward because his nose tends to get in the way, which makes him a bit self-conscious - which then makes him stiff and awkward during the kiss.

His first kiss with his S/O comes about through a bizarre series of events, beginning with multiple failed attempts at him trying to kiss S/O only for someone to interrupt them or for him to chicken out suddenly right before by making up some excuse about needing to take care of captain duties. He definitely beats himself up for all those missed attempts, though.

He eventually decides to make the first kiss romantic for his S/O, so he’ll either surprise them with a bouquet of roses or a thoughtful date. What can go wrong with setting the mood a little bit?

The first kiss with Buggy feels like kissing a mannequin at first since he’s frozen in place, but after giving him a few seconds, he’s slowly moving his lips against his S/O’s. He might break the kiss with a nervous laugh and ask if he’s doing okay, but he really just wants to make the first kiss to be memorable.

Once he gets used to sharing kisses, he turns out to be a pretty good kisser. His lips are always soft, and he’s passionate but gentle. And he just loves it when his makeup lingers on his S/O’s lips, he’s even proud of the red smudges he leaves on their lips.

Buggy enjoys kissing his S/O any chance he can whether it’s first thing in the morning or whenever he’s casually strolling by in which he’ll give them a quick kiss on the cheek. L = Love Confession – (How would they confess to their s/o?

A confession from Buggy is an experience of a lifetime. Someone who thrives on being flashy and extravagant will definitely make his love confession over-the-top.

The days leading up to his planned confession, he'll bring his crush a wide variety of gifts, ranging from beautiful bouquets to over-sized stuffed animals to valuable treasures that he comes across during his plundering. Sure, he loves his treasure beyond compare, but the delightful feeling he gets from sharing his valuables with the person he adores most causes him to make impulsive decisions.

He'll plan a gourmet dinner at the finest restaurant he knows; he'll have his own crew put on a circus show for his crush; and then he'll take them somewhere private under the stars where beautiful fireworks will be set off in the distance just for them.

During his confession, Buggy is very sweet and sincere as he professes his amorous feelings towards them. Made obvious by his wavering voice and frequent pauses, he's terribly nervous while he's confessing. He doesn't know whether he should take his crush's hands into his own or if he should run away and leap into the ocean to avoid the chance of rejection, yet he maintains his composure and awaits his crush's response with a soft but nervous smile.

When his crush replies by returning their own feelings, Buggy is absolutely ecstatic and shocked at the same time. His body even comes apart thanks to the powers of his Chop-Chop Fruit, which only emphasizes his stunned reaction even more.

He's so giddy and lovestruck after his S/O returns his feelings that it'll last several days where nothing hardly phases him. All he can think about are his S/O's precious words, and to him, nothing else really matters.

Soft Sides and Insecurities HCs - Kid, Killer

Kid

It takes a long time for Kid to open up about his insecurities, but his S/O has probably figured out a good number of them by that point. He wears his heart on his sleeve, but there are some things he would rather keep hidden.

His S/O already knows about his sensitivity to people insulting his dreams and his underlying care for his crew, especially his lifelong friend, Killer. But Kid is always so confident and brazen that it comes as a delightful surprise when he first shows his S/O his softer side.

When his S/O seemingly falls asleep before him, he'll softly caress their face and pet their hair, thinking that his S/O isn't awake to witness him being tender and caring for a change.

Kid loves listening to all sorts of music, but to him, it's weird to ask anyone from his crew besides Killer to go see a live concert. It's too friendly for his tastes, but he's a lot more comfortable asking his S/O to join him.

He does experience some insecurity in the type of partner he is. He's completely aware of how over-the-top and affectionate most boyfriends are, so he secretly worries that his rough exterior and rigid personality might drive his S/O away.

When his S/O is having a bad day, he'll drop everything and plan to spend the day with his S/O, doing their favorite activities. He's not obvious about it, though. For instance, he'll change the ship's course in order to take his S/O to places that he thinks will cheer them up, like islands with hidden waterfalls.

Kid hates it when his S/O cries, not because it's annoying, but because he doesn't know how to comfort them. It makes him feel inadequate, especially when the best he can do is hand them tissues and rub their back while their sobbing continues.

Despite Kid being confident and daring, he doesn't like being stared at by strangers. His S/O can try to talk Kid down from his irritation, but it still leaves the lingering question of why said strangers were staring at him in the first place. He's not as bothered when he's with his S/O as compared to when he's alone.

Although Kid is proud of his battle scars, he sometimes dwells on the fact that he wasn't strong enough to avoid losing his arm in battle. His intricate prosthetic may have its perks, but it still serves as a constant reminder of his failure to hold his own against a powerful enemy.

The best part of Kid showing his secret soft side to his S/O is that he smiles and laughs a lot more when he's alone with them, a brilliant reminder that Kid is in fact a bright human being beyond his occupation as a murderous pirate.

Killer

One of the first of Killer's insecurities that he reveals to his S/O is his odd eating habit. It's difficult to hide and brings about several questions that he'd rather not get into. He's bound to spend a lot of time with his S/O and eating in front them comes with that pleasure. He'll even pass it off as less of an inconvenience compared to removing his helmet to eat, despite seeming like it should be the other way around.

With food in mind, Killer does enjoy cooking. And since his S/O is different from Kid and the rest of the crew, he can be a little more creative with his decoration of the dishes he serves to his S/O. He'll manipulate the food to either look like hearts or maybe little animals, basically any plating that'll put a smile on his S/O's face.

Killer likes to make lighthearted jokes around his S/O simply because he loves hearing them laugh. Since he hates his own laugh, he doesn't really have much of a reaction to his S/O's jokes other than saying "That's funny."

Give Killer some time, and he'll gradually warm up to the idea of sharing his laughter with his S/O. It'll start off as a quick huff of a laugh, progress into a small chuckle, and then become more of an honest laugh. He'll only laugh when he's alone with his S/O, though, so don't expect him to laugh in public.

He obviously has insecurities about what's under the helmet, so it takes time and patience from his S/O before Killer builds up the courage to reveal his face.

Killer actually has a soft spot for kids, too, but not in the way one might think. He's not overly friendly with them, but he buys treats and toys for them with his leftover berries. He also tends to stick up for children when they're in danger or when they're being harassed by others. His S/O's praise afterwards is a nice plus, too.

He may not look it, but he's a secret fan of cuddling. He'll never explicitly ask his S/O to cuddle, he'll just take advantage of an opportunity to cuddle and pass it off as his attempt to make more room for the two of them or he'll say that his S/O simply looked cold.

Because Killer enjoys playing the drums as a hobby, he'll play different rhythms and try talking his S/O into singing. If they're too shy, he'll see if they're more comfortable humming along or drumming along, whichever one they prefer. He thinks their voice is wonderful, but he understands their self-consciousness. His goal is mainly to find something that he and his S/O can bond over together, after all.

Since Killer knows what it's like to be insecure, he's always complimenting his S/O. He compliments their appearance, their laugh, bits and pieces of their personality... He won't stop until his S/O has nothing to feel insecure about anymore.

Although Killer's name and reputation may seem unappealing to most, his S/O is one of the few people that gets to truly enjoy Killer's entire being from his rugged role as a vicious pirate to his charming role as a loyal partner.

I just found your blog and I'm in love with it ❤v❤ Could I maybe ask for hcs for Luffy, Law and Kid (separately) with a 45/55 year old friend who's like their mom figure who also lives on an small island with her grandkids and they accidentally called her "mom" in front of their crews and they're embarrassed and later she talks to them alone about not being embarrassed because there's nothing wrong with that? Accidentally Calling Motherly Friend “Mom” HCs - (Luffy, Law, Kid)

Luffy

Dadan and Makino were perhaps the closest people that Luffy could consider as mother figures, but now he's very close friends with one woman who's motherly inside and out. He sees the way she treats her grandchildren, and he feels as though she treats him in a very similar way.

On top of that, Luffy's crew is always teasing him about how his friend is almost like his mom, the way she frets over him and constantly feeds him along with her grandchildren and the way she hugs and comforts him as if he was actually her son.

With all of his crew's teasing and his friend's motherly personality, it's no wonder that one day Luffy slips up and calls her "mom." He doesn't even realize he's said it until Usopp or Nami points it out to him.

Now, Luffy rarely, if ever, gets embarrassed, so to see his cheeks begin to grow a rosy tint before he pulls his straw hat down to hide his face is truly a strange sight to witness.

Things are a little awkward afterwards with Luffy staying relatively quiet, only speaking when spoken to but with a mopey tone in his voice. He wants to run back to the Thousand Sunny, but he reckons Zoro or Franky will stop him, maybe even Robin, too.

Luffy eventually finds a chance to leave when his friend's grandkids ask him to go outside to play, to which he happily accepts and flees the scene. How could he say something so weird?

Once the children are done playing, they go inside to wash up and grab some snacks while Luffy chooses to stay outside. He's so caught up in his thoughts that he hardly hears his friend walking up to him until she takes a seat next to him and puts a hand on his shoulder, startling him quite a bit.

She laughs and asks him why he's outside by himself, and when he tells her its about the embarrassing mishap, she laughs and brings him into a tight hug. Seeing her lighthearted reaction, he'll laugh, too, saying that he doesn't even know why he called her "mom" in the first place since he's never called anyone that before.

As she reassures him that she doesn't mind being called "mom," Luffy's wearing a huge grin on his face and joking about how he's finally found himself a mom.

It's not obvious since Luffy is almost always grinning and laughing, but after this encounter, he's just gleaming with joy. Blood-related or not, anyone who treats him like family would get nothing but the best from him.

Law

From time to time, Law will mourn the loss of his family even after all the years that have passed, especially when it's their birthdays or the anniversary of their death. The death of his family weighs heavily in the back of his mind, but he never once thought he'd become so close to another motherly figure.

Law was surprised at all of the advantages of having a motherly friend to dote on him. He likes to think that he's got his life figured out and that he's capable of handling himself, but he learns so much from this friend that he'll often call her up in search of advice.

His crew absolutely adores his friend and her grandchildren, so they've all pretty much integrated themselves into her family. They even go so far as to call her "mom," too. Unfortunately, the crew's habit of calling her "mom" must've grown on Law subconsciously.

Out of the blue during one of their visits to the small island, Law mistakenly call his friend "Mom" and doesn't even pick up on it. The room suddenly grows quiet as his friend and his crew stare at him in bewilderment.

He's confused at first, and when they reveal to him his slip-up, he looks on with astonishment at his embarrassing mistake. Just what was he thinking!?

His face goes red, of course, because his crew is laughing and teasing him about joining them as his friend's "adopted children." And all he can really do is slump back in his seat and pull his hat down over his face.

Luckily, he's not the center of attention for long since the conversation quickly changes to a new subject, but he replays the memory in his head over and over again, wanting to throw himself into the ocean. With everyone else preoccupied, he makes a quick escape to the other room where he grovels at his mistake.

When his motherly friend enters the room to check on him, he apologizes for making things awkward. He's more than surprised at her lighthearted response saying that she doesn't mind being called "Mom."

It's comforting to hear her say that, and her kindness and acceptance is something he cherishes. He sees his own mom in his friend, and it's almost as if he's been reunited with his deceased mother, just through a whole different person.

Despite the horrible first experience of calling his friend "Mom," Law feels relieved at having someone he can consider family, almost like he's filled a hole in his heart that he never knew he had. And with his friend's fondness toward the nickname, Law decides he'll call her "Mom" but only when the two are alone.

Kid

Kid has never really prioritized making friends or building strong relationships with his family, but he does make one exception for a very special lady.

Sure, she tends to scold him for his reckless behavior and his unprecedented cruelty which gets on his nerves, but he can never bring himself to dislike her in any way. He's much too attached, and the pros of having her as a friend far outweigh the cons.

Her constant encouragement and support of his dreams are more than welcoming to Kid. And for that reason, he's sworn to protect her island and her family, often mentioning that she's the only person to ever get this kind of treatment from him and that she should feel lucky.

One day during a particular visit, Kid is spending his time catching up with his motherly friend, while Killer and a few others are playing with the grandchildren in the same room. Meanwhile, the kids keep calling for their mom to watch them do somersaults despite their mother being in the middle of a story.

She apologizes to Kid for the disruption and turns her attention to her grandchildren for a moment, praising them for their impressive skills before returning to Kid to continue her story.

As Kid was waiting for the mother to finish, he noticed a new picture frame hanging on the wall. Curious, he decides to ask her about it. And in the midst of the children chanting for their mom and Kid preparing to ask his question, he accidentally says, "Hey, Ma, what's-?" He barely manages to catch himself, and it's absolute torture for him.

His face is nearly as red as his hair, and he doesn't even know how to react. He can hear muffled chuckles from his crewmates with Killer trying to shush them. When that fails Killer shoos the children and small group of pirates outside, leaving Kid to pout alone with his friend.

Kid tries to tell her it was an accident and that she ought to forget about it if she knows what's good for her. They're nothing but empty threats, and his friend knows that. So instead, she gives his arm a comforting squeeze and tells him that she doesn't mind if he refers to her as "Ma" since she finds it fitting.

He tries to argue with her, but she uses her motherly skills to quiet his fussing and convinces him to calm down. He's still embarrassed, of course, yet he's now able to calmly ask her to never bring it up again since his crew is likely to poke fun at him later. And she agrees, much to his relief.

It's comforting to know that such a close friend is willing to consider herself family to him. In fact, he's delighted to hear her say that, but Kid feels that it's better if they remain friends. After all, it'd be hard on his friend and her grandchildren if someone they considered family never returned from the seas again. But hey, he now knows someone he can call "Ma."
