It's been a year already it seems! Welcome to the mental illness!

A year ago my friends introduced me to star wars, and it wasn't the original trilogy that made my autism go brrrrr, no it was the prequels with it's windows XP background fight scene in TPM that got to me.

Not long after, today in fact, is when I discovered Obikin and now every time I see fanart of them together I kick my feet and giggle at how much I love them.

To personally celebrate one year of being in this fandom I have decided to show y'all just how bad it's gotten lol. I will be going over my book collection as well as my pin collection. (Help my wallet is screaming at me)

Now you might notice that book five of Jedi apprentice is missing from this, that's because I currently have it out and have been staring at it for MONTHS at this point because I absolutely despise Qui-Gon in this series and I know he's going to for some reason abandon Obi on a civil war torn planet instead of taking him to space Mcdonalds!

Despite the fact that I'm more obsessed with the prequels if I see a book I don't have at thrift stores or second hand book shops I can't help myself but grab it, especially since one character in particular really fascinates me, and that's good ol' Anakin Solo and the sadly less talked about Ken. I wanna know why Leia decided to name her kid off of the father she never knew and the father that also tortured her. And I just really like Ken, he never appears outside of two books but he will forever be canon in my head because he's Palpatine's GRANDSON. And he also says he's just Ken (Barbie flashbacks)

Now these, these are all the ffg ttrpg books I own for star wars! There's one of the saga edition and I've also been using the essential guides for ideas when I GM our campaign. Should anyone want information that one of these books has feel free to DM me and I'll send what I find! (Not seen is my Forces and Destiny core rulebook and chronicles of the Gatekeeper, both out because I'm using them for ideas lol)

These are the two zines I own! I was lucky enough to come into this fandom when nightfall was doing preorders and I managed to snag one! Found is a found family based zine I actually found on Ebay!

Oh boy...Welcome to what I can only describe as a pure concentrated form of my obsession with Obikin. Admittedly this idea wasn't an original thought, it was inspired by discovering @aigoos pinboard design and it inspired me to make my own! The board is actually handmade by me! I bought a pinboard at Michael's and then went to a local fabric shop where I got this beautiful fabric! It isn't the most clean cut well put together board but it's mine! :3

These are hilariously up there as being my favorite keychains! They're from Nightfall zine!

Look at my boys cuddling, look at them, this is the cutest most adorable enamel pin I own and I would slaughter all the younglings in the temple for them.

And as you can see this is the very same pin I posted about days ago where I was concerned that it might be a scam or that the seller was no longer active, great news they are! They hadn't uploaded anything since last year but now it appears they're back! The back of the pin actually says "I loved you!" and I did in fact squeal like a school girl when I saw that! 🤣

This is the brotherhood 2 pin by Foundling mercantile and I wasn't originally going to buy this, I had originally woken up to get the starfighters and Bunnywan/Nyanakin pins which while currently unavailable on Foundling you can still get from RussianRita on Etsy! (They're also who I got the boy's cuddling from!)

Here we have my boys, just chilling, killing, and while unfortunately my phone camera doesn't show it Obi-Wan's lightsaber glows in the dark! (It was very important that I mention this I absolutely adore glow in the dark stuff!)

So really fun fact about these! I had messaged the seller, Deileeart, on Etsy because they hadn't gotten a review since last year so I was worried that they were no longer selling, only for them to immediately respond and next thing I know everything's 75% off! I obviously had to grab them, they're so smol and cute!

Then up top we have my plushies/figures! The first three plushies are by @mouyashii and they're incredibly soft! Padme especially and I don't know why lol! Anakin also has darth vader's helmet underneath his robes!

The one's on top of each other are their tsum tsums! Poor perpetually splitting Anakin, the second Obi gets removed he'll just kill me.

Then the last two are by @saeuchelle! They're connected by a keychain and it's so incredibly satisfying to spin them by that chain in between my fingers!

Also Obi has just a wee bit of a "tabard" problem, it never goes down! 🤣

And that's all of them! (for now) I'll probably start showing off new merch I get in the future because I gain great joy from talking about them! They're my favorite lil guys after all!

I love Obikin as switches but there is just something so special about Anakin wanting to top that old man. Obi-Wan, who has always felt like nobody wants him, being aggressively pursued by Anakin who is frothing at the mouth for him and Anakin, who feels like nobody trusts him or his decisions, having the overwhelming realization that Obi-Wan trusts him completely and feels safe with him. It's so good

There is an absolutely fascinating moment in the Obi-Wan and Padme and Anakin confrontation on Mustafar that I kinda want to spin like three full-length fics off of.

Anakin’s Force-choking Padme. Obi-Wan orders him: “Let her go! Let her go, Anakin!” and Anakin - Anakin who has already pledged fealty to Darth Sidious, who has already embraced the Dark Side, who has disclaimed loyalty to Obi-Wan - obeys the command.

He genuinely doesn’t seem to drop Padme because he’s processed yet what he’s doing; it really does look like he’s instinctively obeying Obi-Wan’s orders even when he’s fully off his rocker, out of his mind from everything from accumulated trauma to elemental-evil-exposure, and has officially denounced any hierarchical relationship between them.

And there is SO much to be unpacked there.

I’m guessing that what’s going on, for the most part, is a decade of conditioning as Obi-Wan’s Padawan (and subsequent years as his partner-but-subordinate) to follow his orders reflexively. Combined with Anakin’s overall instinct to obedience, trained into him by everyone from Watto to the Council to Palpatine. And that’s so powerful it overrides everything else, when even Anakin’s protectiveness of Padme couldn’t break through it. Underneath it all, he's still more Padawan than Sith Lord, at an instinctual level.

(It’s not the only time obedience to Obi-Wan takes precedence over the protectiveness of Padme that is otherwise his driving trait, by the way; Obi-Wan orders him to leave her alone and injured in Attack of the Clones and follow Obi-Wan instead of rescuing her and, though he argues a bit, he obeys.)

And what does it say, too, that that’s what Obi-Wan defaulted to? He considers Anakin a brother, at this point, sees them as equals in many ways. But in an urgent situation, he doesn’t plead or reason - he barks an order expecting to be obeyed. Because, in the end, he is a Master, and Anakin never was. And all the weight Anakin gives that fact? The near-meltdown he has about it in the Council chamber? He’s not getting that from nowhere.

In an AU, if Obi-Wan had, instead of fighting him, said “Anakin, I’m going to take over the Republic now and you’re going to be my attack dog. Sit. Stay. Now bite.” Would that have worked? Based on both this scene and how frequently Anakin offers to betray Palpatine for other people so they can rule the Empire in Palpatine’s stead with Anakin as their iron fist, it seems likely!

Obi-Wan is assigned to fake his death, get surgically altered to look like Castor Troy Rako Hardeen, and infiltrate the plot to kidnap the Chancellor that was happening this month.

But he thought it was a really bad idea to keep Anakin in the dark the entire time.

Okay, sure, Anakin was not by any means a good actor. There was a reason he got cast for the scenery the one time Anakin tried out for the Padawan theater productions. He has improved over time. But. Not a lot.

Honestly, the guy thinks Obi-Wan doesn't know that he and Padme aren't romantically involved, it's ridiculous. Heart on his sleeve.

So. Before the whole thing began, after Obi-Wan voiced his dislike with the Chancellor's plan to combat the Separatist plan to kidnap the Chancellor. But the Chancellor insisted and the other Masters insisted and so Obi-Wan capitulated. In an exact words sort of way.

Which is how he justified leaving a letter behind for Anakin to find after the funeral.

Dear Padawan,

So I'm "dead". Terribly inconvenient. Quinlan owes me 50 credits, if I'm not back by the time you see him next, collect it for me will you? Consider it a bribe not to be upset with me for the emotional upset I've caused you.

I promise to explain when you see my face next.

Obi-Wan

Cue Ahsoka walking in on Anakin cursing Obi-Wan's name and laughing delightedly because Obi-Wan is alive. An absolute asshole for making Anakin think he's dead, but wonderful for letting Anakin know he's not actually dead all the same.

He doesn't get the 'my face' comment until later.

("You said you'd explain when we saw each other again."

"I said I'd explain when you saw my face next. This isn't my face."

*cussing in three different languages*)

Also Quinlan swears he doesn't owe Obi-Wan a single sith damn credit, but he still pays Anakin the 50 credits (that he totally owed Obi-Wan).

I love the idea that Anakin is obsessed with Obi-Wan's gray hairs because he knows he's the one responsible for each and every one of them, could probably recount each dangerous stunt he did that caused them to appear. He'll try to keep Obi-Wan from stressing out over anything else other than him so that nothing "taints" his Master's hair, only he's allowed to give Obi-Wan gray hairs, no one else.

I finally saw Revenge of the sith in 4DX last night and it was awesome! I got thrown around, water sprayed on my face, and Mustafar smells like Sulfar (and so does extra crispy Anakin) but nothing is going to top when Anakin pulled out his lightsaber to kill the younglings and everyone started clapping! 🤣

I have been trying to hold off on archive locking my fics for as long as possible, and I've managed to get by unscathed up to now. Obikin Ficlet

Everyone in the 501st and 212th knew that something was going on between their two generals, one of them was always sneaking into the other’s room (usually General Skywalker), and they couldn’t seem to stand being any farther apart than their shoulders touching. And when they weren’t together and off on separate missions? It’s like they couldn’t sleep at all, the bags under their eyes growing heavier and heavier.

Every clone always breathed a sigh of relief when their Generals were assigned a mission together, because they always woke up looking refreshed and no longer like the living dead. 

General Skywalker was also the more touchy of the two of them and the Clones knew better than to look or even talk about it when they saw General Skywalker peacefully taking a nap in General Kenobi’s lap as he read reports, or hugged him from behind, or wrapped his arm around the other. And any kissing they saw? No they didn’t. Their Generals were happier and fought better when they were together rather than apart, which is why when they were given a mission that would leave them apart for months, every clone felt horror and despair flow through their veins.

It started as it usually did, General Skywalker became more easily irritable and drank more caf than a normal human body should be able to contain. Then it began to grow worse. His eyes looked hollow, his clothes always disheveled, brushing off Commander Tano’s concerns with the fakest smile they’d ever seen. The worst thing however was the fighting. He still did his best to protect the clones and the Commander, but when he fought, when he killed, he did so without a second thought, for the clankers it was understandable, but for their living, breathing foes? It was the same, he cared not who he killed or how much terror was in their eyes as he did so. He was as emotionless as a droid.

The 212th didn’t fare much better but General Kenobi was better at hiding it. While he didn’t kill indiscriminately they frequently wondered if that was because the General was sent on more diplomatic missions than General Skywalker, because he was the Negotiator and had to act like it. And that was what became their own personal problem. It was like after a while he couldn’t switch between being a General, being the Negotiator, and being Obi-Wan Kenobi. 

Their General may not have lost his humanity but he certainly lost his identity while apart from Skywalker, to say nothing of how despite his age he was able to keep himself awake for far longer without passing out then his counterpart, frequently sipping tea while making reports to the council. 

They thought their General had lost his mind as they once caught him staring at himself in a mirror, his eyes glazed over and face scrunched up in confusion and mild shock, as though he didn’t even recognize himself anymore. Nothing had brought him out of it until his comm went off and he had to make his way to negotiate with another self important official. The clones got rid of the mirrors after that.

They thought it would help, thought that maybe if he wasn’t confronted with his reflection, he’d focus on something, anything, else. But it didn’t matter, not really.

General Kenobi seemed to slip further away, carrying out his duties with a perfection that was eerie. There was no warmth to his voice anymore, no light in his eyes when he gave them orders or nodded in approval of their efforts. He was still General Kenobi, still the steady, dependable leader they trusted, but the man who had once smiled gently at them, joked in quiet moments, and even showed them a kindness they knew clones rarely got, that man was gone.

Cody never spoke of the nights he heard the General crying to anyone else, even the other clones. That, above all the other things, was the most private thing he did.

When Cody heard that General Kenobi and Skywalker were to be reunited for a mission, he almost broke down with relief, yet maintained his cool, even as he saw the way the General’s eyes shone as he finished the call with the council. A bounce practically in his step as they made their way out of the room, seeing every clone who saw them pass by visibly relax at seeing him look happier, because it only meant one thing. The two Generals were to be reunited.

They couldn’t get there fast enough in his opinion.

When they arrived at the outpost, General Skywalker looked like he’d actually showered, his hair looking softer and his clothes neater than they’d seen in months, a smile playing on his lips. Every clone in the nearby radius half wanting to kidnap General Kenobi so they wouldn’t have to deal with their General looking as bad as he had before. The 212th were probably thinking the same.

The moment General Kenobi exited his ship, peace finally returned as General Skywalker all but raced into his arms, holding him tightly, like he was someone he’d lost who had returned to life instead of them being just a few mere systems away from each other.

Kenobi visibly relaxed in the hold, hugging him with one hand just as tightly as the other combed through General Skywalker’s hair.

They exchanged soft, quiet whispers to each other that the Clones couldn’t hear, but at the end of it they exchanged the softest, most tender kiss they’d never seen.

They all made sure to stay far away from their General’s tents that night, especially Tano, who acknowledged whatever their relationship was with annoyed affection, mumbling that she hoped she never became that attached to someone in her life.

thinking this fine morning (afternoon) about a rebellion au where anakin never joins the Jedi Order and remains a slave & is sold off of Tatooine before his mother is freed by Cliegg. Sometime during the Clone Wars when he's like 22, a Jedi frees him and the handful of fellow slaves in the area by killing their master during a fire fight with Separatist forces - after the fight, the Jedi tosses Anakin the chip controller he'd found amongst the master's belongings while looking for information on Separatist movements. He says something, witty and kind, Anakin thinks, but Anakin can't remember it - couldn't hear it over the pounding of his heart at the prospect of his own freedom

so a year later, when the Jedi Order falls and the Empire rises up, Anakin just cannot believe that the Jedi were evil. He's not and never will be a Jedi fanatic or anything, but he remembers his Jedi, the one who freed him. He remembers his smile, his kindness, the swoop of hair falling over his sweaty forehead. The way he'd winked at Anakin as he left--the way he'd cut through the master's money safe with his lightsaber to reveal hoards of physical credits, up for the taking and enough for each slave to start a new life. no, his Jedi isn't evil and so Anakin is pretty sure that the Jedi Order was never evil either.

he's only had his freedom for a year or so. it's not been much of life up until then, and it feels like an easy decision to join the Rebellion. he wants something to fight for. he wants to do something meaningful with his life now that it's finally his.

fast forward ten years and he's fairly far up in the ranks of the Rebellion, considering how good of a pilot and mechanic he is. he's got a brain for strategy and he's got a massive amount of luck on his side. It's no wonder that when the Rebel leaders decide that they need the legendary General Obi-Wan Kenobi on their side and back in the game, they tap Anakin to go retrieve him.

Anakin goes. he's never met a Jedi before, apart from his Jedi, and even though this Kenobi guy sounds like a worn-out, retired, old-man Jedi, Anakin thinks it'll be a cool experience. also, orders are orders.

imagine his surprise when the coordinates he's given to find Obi-Wan Kenobi lead him to his home planet. imagine his surprise when he knocks on Obi-Wan Kenobi's door and the very familiar face of his Jedi opens it.

Unhinged Obikin thoughts late at night, my dears.

So! This is something that is in so few aus it makes me sad, cause the potential is soooo good but I digress. Let's get into it shall we?

Palpatine is the man with all the plans and counter plans so I do believe he would have a back up plan should Anakin, shall we say, not comply with what he wants him to do. And here we get so many delicious choices, such as:

- Palpatine created a clone of Anakin just in case Anakin didn't fall to his manipulations, and it's the clone the one who is sent to the temple to kill everyone and it's him who battles Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Anakin is kept in stasis so that he can't wake up and oppose Palpatine and also cause Palpatine is a sadistic fuck who would have Anakin in the room with all the displayed dead Jedis Obi-Wan eventually finds in the series.

- Palpatine is able to mind control Anakin too, similarly to the clones, a la Winter Soldier style. Obi-Wan is too freaked out by this Anakin who doesn't give any signs of recognition to battle him on Mustafar and instead decides to go into hiding to find resources to free Anakin from Palpatine.

Either way I'm connecting all of this to the fantastic "death wife hallucinations" Obi-Wan has in OWK. Can you imagine the deliciousness, the soul wrenching angst and longing, is those visions Obi-Wan has is actually Anakin trying to reach Obi-Wan to make him aware that he's either a) kidnapped, b) trying to break free of the mind control enough to explain,,,, and Obi-Wan being convinced that he's a) delusional and devastated, or b) enraged and devastated.

Can y'all imagine Obi-Wan finding Anakin in stasis in that creepy Jedi trophy room,,,, or finding Anakin right when they are prepping him for another conditioning,,,, he would raze the place to the ground just to get Anakin out of there. The feral energy. The guilt for not realising sooner that his Anakin was not Darth Vader. The hunt for blood for both the abomination that impersonated his beloved/the mind control, the people involved and Palpatine,,,,, I fear he would do a massacre and not even bat an eye akdnKnxks

Also I know Obi-Wan won't let Anakin out of sight ever again. If before they were attached to the hip now Obi-Wan carries him around 24/7. Literally walks around with Anakin cuddled to his chest. The pampering Anakin would get would be insane. If he was spoiled by Obi-Wan before now it's another level. If someone dares look at Anakin twice and Obi-Wan doesn't like how they looked it's possible the person will be risking his health, literally.

Meanwhile, Yoda is just happy Palpashit is dead (stabbed multiple times by Obi-Wan first, then Obi-Wan kept him still as Anakin stabbed him some more and beheaded him). The Jedi order won't be the same ever again anyway so what if Obi-Wan and Anakin are calling themselves Jedi and getting married and trying their hardest to get Anakin's pregnant even if it's not physically possible? It's none of Yoda's business, that is. He's looking forward to being the fun grandpa to Luke, Leia and any other children that might come after (Yoda is not overruling anything with those two). Man be looking at Obi-Wan handfeeding Anakin and be like, I'm too old for this. Jedi marriage is now legal, let me return to my swamp. Literally only call me if you want me to babysit. Peace out.
