Art and Reblogging Survey

HELLO! I have made a Google Form about art and reblogging on tumblr. The questions involve why you might not reblog art and the reasons behind it.

Admittedly this is because a piece I posted got 80 likes and 29 reblogs, and I’m curious as to why people hesitate to reblog. Also I like creating studies no one asked for that happen to be relevant to my interests!

If I get 100 responses, I will publish the results for other artists to see.

Which languages does your OC speak?

Which languages did they grow up with? Which languages did they pick up along the way? Which languages do they wish to learn?

Do they have a use for every language they know? Do they still speak all of these languages on a regular basis? Are any of these languages unusual or out of place for where they live or for their species/race/ethnicity?

Character questions

Gonna cheer myself up by compiling a list of questions that were asked here into one of those meme thingies. Feel free to ask any of my charas if you want to or reblog this or whatnot. They are meant for OCs but can be answered by non-OCs too, or you can even answer them yourself if you like.

What’s one experience your character had that made them very afraid?

What is your character’s happiest memory?

What’s one skill your character really wishes they had?

What is their favourite food? Their daily diet?

Do they like music? If so, what kind of music do they enjoy?

Do they collect anything/have a collection?

Have they ever encountered someone they really wanted to kill?

How do they deal with bullies and people who just won’t leave them alone?

Does your character have any accidents or stunts from the past that they’re extremely embarrassed about or had a funny result? Details please!

Your character has discovered that they only have a week left to live. What do they do with that time?

What was something they struggled with greatly and how did they overcome it?

Your character has the opportunity to have one wish granted. Would the wish only benefit them, someone else (one person or multiple), or everyone? And what would that wish be?

Does your character have anyone that they really care about, to the point that they would give their life for them? If so, who are they and what is your character’s relation to them? If not, do they wish they did? Is there anyone they wish they could build such a relationship with?

Do they have someone that they consider to be a family member, even if they’re not related to your character by blood? What was one of your character’s favourite moments with them, and what makes them so special to them?

Does your character have a deep and/or dark secret? If so, what is it? 

What is their aspiration? Their goal? Their purpose? What makes them want to wake up everyday and keep on going?

How was their childhood? Did their parents treat them fairly? Did they have any really good friends?

Does your character believe the ends justify the means? No matter who they have to step on to reach their goals?

Have they ever lost a loved one? What happened to them, and are they the same as they were before they lost them?

How would your character define love? 

How does your character decide if a person is mature or not? 

Do they have any nervous habits? If they know, what made them start doing them?

Does your character know any languages apart from their native language? What one would they like to learn?

Does magic exist in your character’s world, and can they use it? If so, how does it work?

Has anyone ever tried to kill your character? If so, why?

Has your character ever been hurt or betrayed by someone they thought they could depend on? What happened?

How much have they given up to get to where they are in life, willingly or unwillingly? How much do they think they would give up to get to where they want to be, in the future?

When your character was younger, how did they picture themselves growing up? Does it differ from how they really turned out?

If they could change just one thing about themselves, what would it be?

Does your character have a family? If so, do they get along well with them?

How patient is your character with others? Do they find it easy to handle people that try and bug them, or hard?

Would they consider themselves a weakling or are they more of a tough person? How hard a punch could they deliver and just how tough a blow could they take?

In your character’s opinion, is it okay being content in one place, or are people just wasting their time if they don’t explore?

Has anyone ever given your character a really important gift? What was it? Do they take care of that gift today or have they since lost or broken it?

Speaking of items, what is their most prized possession? If they have one that is.

Tattoos. Do they have any? Do they want any? 

How advanced is the technology in your character’s world? Do they have mobile phones and high-tech computers yet or have they far surpassed that?

Have they ever had to hurt someone else, physically or mentally, to save themselves or another person? Were they the same after the incident, or did it change them?

What do they like better: angels or demons?

Do people expect a lot from your character or look up to them for something? Why or why not?

Where do they live? What is that place like, do they enjoy living there?

From where or from what do they originate?

What are they like when they’re drunk? Don’t be a prude and tell me they’ve never been smashed before.

Do they believe in elves, or even know any?

What’s their spirit animal? What animal do they just look at and say, “That’s me”?

Which is your character’s preferred weapon of choice?

If your character could be any other species, what would they be? (anthro, feral, whatever, anything is good)

Do they have any health conditions?

Do they have any religious/spiritual beliefs? What are they? How did they come to believe in them?

What’s their earliest memory?

Do they find that they care what others think of them? or do they not really mind how others view them?

Do they have any pets/familiars/animals or really anything that follows them around?

Do they have an alternate form?

What kind of weather do they like best? How do they enjoy that weather?

Do they have any special powers? 

Would they ever turn on someone they just met in order to save themselves?

Would they rather be hot or cold?

What’s their preferred method of fighting?

Have they ever had an encounter with someone that changed their whole life?

Have they ever committed a crime, or something they felt was wrong? What was it?

What would have to be the most interesting thing about where your character lives?

What’s something that really repulses them? 

What do they do for a living? Do they enjoy it, or are they just doing it because they have to?

What are your character’s thoughts on liquor? Ever had anything strong?

Have they ever eaten something unusual to their normal diet? What was it? Did they like it?

If they were free to do anything, be it cruel, kind, or otherwise, without fear of repercussions, what is it that your character would do?

What was the most acidic remark your character’s ever given to someone? And their reaction?

What, in your character’s life, puts the most pressure on them?

Do they enjoy facing their fears? CAN they face their fears? If not, what do they do in a situation where they’re forced to face them?

When it comes to clothing, what’s their style? Do they prefer natural or formal? Skinny or baggy clothes? 

How is your character’s bedroom? Is it small, big, colourful, simple, messy, organised, filled with their things, shared��? 

Do they like to read? If so, what’s their favourite genre? Favourite author? Favourite book?

If your character knew what they know now when they were younger would they do things in their life differently?

What would be the worst way to die, in your character’s opinion?

What was the worst experience they’ve ever had with their family? Or, if they don’t have one, what’s the worst part of not having a family?

Which one of the five senses is most important to them? 

Are they capable of handling themselves in a fight? And, what was the worst fight they’ve gotten themselves into, if any?

Are they very trusting or not trusting at all? Have they ever been betrayed or has someone they hated become one of the most reliable people they know?

Which one do they prefer; knowing when they die or how they die?

How do they spend a rainy day?

Your character is running late but need to grab something to eat. What do they get?

If they could have one superpower, what would it be? Choose wisely, it could have drawbacks to them.

Have they ever had to tell someone a lie to protect them? Did they regret doing it or not?

What do they do if they have a really bad nightmare?

If the opportunity to join an adventure appears, but for your character to participate the’d need to leave their current life behind without knowing if they’ll ever come back, would they go no matter what? Or would they prefer to stay with their current life?

Do they have anything that they consider a good luck charm? 

What’s their favourite physical activity?

Assuming they aren’t one already would your character prefer to be a Vampire, a Werewolf, or a Demon? And no cheating, if they are already one of those they can’t pick the one that they are.

Does your character like the ocean, or are they more of a land person? Perhaps they prefer specific bodies of water, like ponds and rivers, or specific locations on the land, like forests and mountains?

What tastes and flavours does your OC prefer?

Do these change depending on certain factors, like time of day or mood? What flavours do they prefer for breakfast? Are there things they’d eat for breakfast they wouldn’t for lunch or dinner? What flavours do they prefer for lunch? For dinner? How picky are they in these flavours?

How much variety can be found in your OCs’ wardrobes?

Look at both an individual level and your OCs as a whole. 

Does your OC generally wear the same style, or do they have radically different outfits and pieces in their wardrobe? Do your OCs of the same genre generally dress the same, or do they each have their own distinct style?

Toyhou.se is one of the best sites out there to use when you want OC profiles, so I’m spreading this post again!

Toyhou.se codes and where to get them

Since so many people are looking for a way to obtain a sign-up code for Toyhou.se and they can be a bit annoying to track down, I’m gonna crosspost my DeviantART journal on how to obtain them here.

Please note that I don’t have any codes, so I can’t provide you with any.

First off, NEVER give any money, points, art, or designs for codes! They are worth $0,26. I calculated it. They are virtually worthless and easy to obtain for free

Now, what is Toyhou.se?

Toyhou.se is a site that focuses on OC profiles and adoptables. You can host your character profiles on there and have an unlimited amount of uploadable picture on each profile, making it ideal to collect all details on your characters. It has built-in trading feature and an active community on the forums. You can check out my profile and characters here.

The site uses sign-up codes as it started off as a personal project that accidentally got really big, and to avoid the servers being flooded a code is needed to sign up.

How to obtain sign-up codes?

Toyhou.se users who have paid for premium get two codes for free every week. Some quick math makes the value of a code $0,26, which is why I strongly recommend not paying for a code. There are some easy methods to get them for free, as many are giving them out just like that.

So, how do you get codes?

▶︎ This thread. It was made just to give out codes. You can search for a user commenting that they have codes, go to their profile, and see if they have links to other sites that you can contact them on. This is by far the most efficient method.

▶︎ Search for people who give away codes for free on DeviantART. You can always search the journals section until you find a person that gives them out for free.

▶︎ Look on Tumblr. The Toyhouse and Toyhou.se tags are really good for codes but have slowed down a lot lately. It’s also filled with people trying to get art and money in exchange for codes, which you should stay far away from. You have a bigger chance finding a code in the above two points than here.

▶︎ If all else fails, try to Google search ‘free Toyhou.se code’. Here you may have to deal with old journals, but it can be a last resort.

If none of the above yield any results, I suggest checking that thread again every few days to see if anyone new posts there. If you have a friend on Toyhou.se, you’re also more likely to get something if they post on that forum. Most people get a code within the day like this.

My main gal is named Baliya, she’s a fox/human hybrid with pink anime hair lol. I’m proud of how much work I put into her and her story! She used to be a PowerPuff girl self-insert but now she’s become so much more! She’s usually the main subject of my art and daydreams. I share her a lot on DeviantArt but not much outside of that since she’s probably be considered cringey elsewhere lol. I don’t have her story written down but I remember it by heart! Thank you for letting me ramble about my Oc!

Hey, I love her already! It’s amazing that you’re proud of her, it’s so easy to feel affected by the whole cringe culture thing and in turn become less enthusiastic about your characters. People who give their OCs their full love are always super nice to see!

Would definitely recommend testing the waters and sharing her around some other sites, because I’d love to see her ;v; You can always block the people who are trying to undermine your creativity.

Hey y’all, my name is Eli and I’m making a brand new blog to help people out with their brainstorming around their worldbuilding and their OCs.

There aren’t many blogs out there that have a focus on mostly worlds, so I aim to make my focus a little more on those, but there will definitely be lots of OC content as well! Currently, I’m still setting up the blog and prompts may be sporadic, but if there are submissions that regularity may get higher. The first prompts will be pretty stock as introductory prompts, but after that, we’ll delve into some detail.

You can also make submissions to talk about or show off your worlds and OCs, or ask for advice and I’ll do my best to answer it as best as I can or showcase your ask to the world so followers could answer.

So, let’s get this started! Hopefully, this can be a useful and enjoyable blog!
