April Progress Report
Hey!
This month we鈥檝e mainly focused on:
- Menu refactoring
- Second world spiking
Menus
We鈥檝e redone a bunch of the UI for menus, as well refactoring how they鈥檙e implemented. Not to much to say on this but here鈥檚 some gifs :)
Second World
One of the main concepts we wanted for our game was each of our other worlds to have a different game play style. So far we鈥檝e chose聽
- world 1: rpg (this could change)
- world 2: puzzle, horror (sort of)
This month I did a quick spike to see how world 2 could be implemented. So far we鈥檝e got a few components for building up puzzles: pressure plates, moving doors, levers.These seemed simple and easy to add so hopefully this world should start taking shape fast when we focus more time on it.
I also got some fun bugs to play with...

March Progress Report
Hey there!
Since this is our first progress report I guess I should give some background on what we鈥檙e trying to do, who we are and what we鈥檝e done so far.
We鈥檙e a two person team of UK based devs. Currently we鈥檝e been working on this part time since August. We鈥檙e attempting to make a 2d side scrolling rpg game with a magical girl theme. The game has two main modes:聽
School Mode: As the player you are a student at a boarding school; you can interact with other students and teachers, partake in lessons, purchase items and probably other stuff that we haven鈥檛 thought of yet.
Battle Mode: In battle mode you can battle things :) we鈥檒l probably expand on this as we develop it more.
These two modes will affect each other ie. making friends with other students will allow you to bring them into your party for battle mode.
Tools:
Game engine: Unity
Language: C#
Art: Gimp
Sound: ???
Progress so far:
We are both new to unity so we spent the first few months getting our heads around seeing how things are done using it.聽
So far we鈥檝e got:
dialogue
menus: pause, inventory, characters
different school rooms including dorm rooms for most of the characters, school halls and classrooms
character creation
Currently in progress:
quests
saving
battling
battle animations
The next month:
Hopefully over the next month we will get battling working with individual animations for each party member. Then look how we can link the two modes together. It would also be good to get how we鈥檝e implemented characters in a good place as well. Maybe we鈥檒l come up with a name for it as well ^^
