I know that my hero academia is going in a direction that some people don’t agree with, in terms of the characters that are being killed off or certain character development, especially with the announcement from the mangaka that it will be winding down to the end soon. (there’s no specificity on what “soon” means but I assume 2021 - 2022?)

This isn’t a theory about what will happen in the future of my hero academia.

but if it does end in a way that people find dissatisfying, I am literally begging this fandom to stick together, to not be terrible to Horikoshi, and to appreciate the good of the whole series leading up to this point, even if it ends in a way you didn’t want it to.

I have seen too many fandoms fall to that and BNHA already has a serious problem with toxicity.

What I’m saying is despite all the grief and story turns, nothing is going to stop me from liking my hero academia as a whole. Nothing is going to stop me from writing fanfiction. Nothing is going to stop me from talking about it with my friends.

I have confidence that the ending will be great, I just wanted to put that out there.

I feel like I could already write a whole essay on the kids finding midnight

This panel is devastating. While I never liked Midnight a whole lot due to her habit of sexualizing minors, I respected how much she genuinely loved and cared for her students and encouraged them.

I loved how she encouraged Kaminari to think of his loved ones, I loved how much faith she put in Momo’s leadership, I loved how she saved Popstep and protected the vigilantes from Endeavor’s wrath, etc. She said creepy things, but atleast unlike some problematic characters who contributed nothing positive or significant to the narrative except for acting on their disgusting impulses for cheap “comic relief” (cough grape shit) Midnight always empowered those around her.

And it’s really so traumatizing for the kids to find her like this…

I’m depressed that she suffered alone and died without seeing the kids succeed.

I’m also really depressed by the idea of a woman getting killed while ambushed by a group of men.

I hate to get really dark, but… wartime sexual violence is a crime as old as antiquity. The staunch feminist in me is quick to acknowledge every opportunity men are well-known for taking when it comes to disempowering women.

The naive optimist in me wishes so badly they left her alone after killing her. “Oh maybe people in the 24th century are slightly less savage”. Then again these are soldiers who are part of a terrorist group who essentially want a brutal Randian objectivist anarchy, so civility is already kind of out the door for these people.

Hori hasn’t hesitated to show the other pro-heroes get bruised, battered, or killed. But he left the nature of Midnight’s death ambiguous, which leaves it up to interpretation. As a shonen for young kids, there are things he cannot explicitly show, and it goes without saying, the worst case scenario I’m implying here is one of those things.

Ugh, I don’t know. I’m sad. R.I.P. Midnight.

i was absolutely devastated when i saw the leaks on accident. nemuri was such an underrated character and had so much potential.

BNHA Ch. 296 Mini Rant

[MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS]

Horikoshi why?

Why did you do this?

Midnight had so much more going for her than this, and I'm not just salty bc she became one of my favorite heroes in the series. Horikoshi killing off Midnight was a really sour route to take, both from a writing standpoint and from a character driven one.

After the Kurogiri reveal, her position became so much more pivotal, and she was finally given leeway to shine since she, too, was part of the Rooftop Gang. We all know and love Aizawa, he's been with us since the start of the series and we got the chance to learn about him and his life. Present Mic wasn't as impactful as Aizawa, but over the years, we've also warmed up to him, from his loyalty to his friends and general endearment. Compared to the other two, Midnight didn't have the same character development, at least in the main series. In Vigilantes, she was given more depth and spotlight, though not many people read Vigilantes to begin with so they won't understand how her death was impactful.

Overall, I just feel like there was so much more Midnight could have contributed to the story. She could have had a part to play in bringing back Shirakumo, her getting captured by the villains could have given us so many more ways the heroes could intercept Shigaraki before he reaches AFO's door, and it could have given readers a reason to care about her.

She could have amounted to something amazing, but now she's gone.

I want to think there could be a chance that she's just gravely injured, that this won't be the end of our favorite dominatrix hero, but it just feels too final.

i am still NOT over this. to be honest i wasn't quite fond of katsuki when i first got into mha, but I've started liking him a little more once i rewatched the anime and read the latest chapters in parallel.

but now. NOW. this is such a huge character development, like holy hell. at the end of this chapter you'd find me shaking and tearing up because it just got straight into my heart-

when he said he regretted bullying izuku. when he said that he placed all his trust in him. this sentence, this damn sentence we heard at the beginning of the story : "without thinking, my body simply moved on its own." ; this time it was not izuku who said it. it was bakugou.

y'all, the title says it all : Katsuki Bakugou - Rising.

He thought about all of it.

He remembered every wrong way he treated Deku.

He let it push him forward, to save his longest known friend. The only person who ever showed him unconditional love and support.

Have you ever realized the reason some nomus don’t blink or have eyelids is because they were probably made with intention of having the erasure quirk? They would have all of Aizawa’s power without his weakness and probably would have been able to obliterate top pros like Endeavor and All Might in seconds because the heroes won’t expect their quirks to suddenly not work. The only reason the pros even stand a chance now is because Shirakumo took Aizawa’s place and that makes me sad as heck

Colourless | Soulmate Au - Yagi Toshinori x reader

when i said this was angst, i meant very angst- i basically wrote this around 2 am and finished around 4 am, this took me so much time (and so much tears-). i was originally planning to write a "happy ending", but i guess i ended up feeling like this wasn't how it was supposed to be- i swear when i read it again to see if i didn't make any mistakes, i felt like crying again (so sensitive-). anyways, enough rambling and let's get to the story. i hope I've written correctly, especially toshi, i wanted to let this side of him show itself in my writing. it's actually not that long, but i truly hope you'll like it!

prompt : you only see in black and white until your soulmate touches you.

"how do you see the world ?"

frequent question. too frequent it sounded like a loop- to him, as if it was on every human being's lips.

the fact is, toshinori himself didn't have the answer to those tiring words.

"the world...?"

vast. so vast he was afraid of being grasped by its fearsome and sharp claws, ignoring his harrowing hollers as he is dragged into the crowd's stifling buzz. but as the symbol of peace, he had to shut away these fears and put on a facade ; a smiling, comforting one.

his life was punctuated by tragedies. he couldn't save everyone, and no matter how hard  he wanted to, it took him time to accept- to live with this painful truth.

colorful. an unknown word.

empty. faded.

"colours, where did you go ?

hoping in vain, trying with all my might.

if only the world could tell me the same tales you've read."

he has never been able to make the difference between the bright blue sky and the darker, colder one encountered at night when it was time for the stars to show up. he constantly felt himself watching from afar- a digged gulf restraining him from joining the rest. the smiles, the laughters filling his ears until he caught a migraine. he never understood the joy, the awe all these people felt in a front of a certain landscape.

even a sunset couldn't bring tears to roll down toshinori's emaciated, exhausted face ; a fuzzy river of black and white shades was all he could see. it has always been this way.

"breathtaking, isn't it ?"

"...excuse me ?"

a furrowed brow, confused expression painting on his face as you turned to him, lips slightly parted. you hovered a little, locks of hair softly brushing your cheeks.

"I've never had such a view, before." you tried to smile, avoiding his softening gaze.

"ah... me neither."

his voice sounded unexplainably sad to you- your heart clenched a little as the skinny man reported his eyes on the fading sun, silence falling between the two of you.

"can you see them? "

these words had escaped his lips before he could stop them.

"see what ?"

he ran a hand through his thick and disheveled hair, silently blaming himself.

"the... the colours. can you see them ?" toshinori asked once again, his tone extremely quiet.

he knew you were startled by the sudden question- but what he didn't expect was to see a sweet smile drawn on your lips.

"...there was a time when i couldn't." your answer echoed against the rocks you were both sitting on, facing the ocean as twinkles could be seen in the darkness of night.

toshinori's eyes fell on you, widening under the shock your words procured him.

"but it isn't the case anymore ?"

you slowly shook your head, a smile still plastered on your face.

"I've met... someone." you whispered, lowering your gaze on the sand at your feet.

"a person who made me see the world in the way it's supposed to be. I've had a hard time believing it, actually."

your giggle made him smile with an unexpected tenderness.

"i can see why."

was it what was as well going to happen to him ? someone... who would be able to give him the chance he had always been seeking for ?

yet he met so many people in his life. could it be any different ?

he barely noticed the fingers you brushed against his forehead.

"i enjoyed my time in your company." you said, as your touch left him troubled when you removed your hand from his face.

you turned away before he could even speak, your silhouette slowly walking away from him.

sorrow. longing.

he stretched his arm out as he shouted after you, you were already gone.

too soon.

surroundings plunged into the suffocating darkness around him. but everything felt different to the man.

the sudden wetness of his cheeks. the assaulting wave of feelings made him realize. he wished he could've seen the colour of eyes before letting you go.

the facts!!

I don't know why people in the BNHA Fandom (and other Fandom spaces) think this is appropriate behavior. I saw these two comments under an EraserJoke post and it's stuff like this that really annoys me. If you don't like the ship, why are you in the tag? Why are you commenting mean and nasty shit under someone else's post?

I *love* that this behavior is seen as appropriate for Straight ships, yet none of these people would even consider doing it to popular gay ships like EraserMic or TodoDeku. It's just insanely childish and often pretty fetishistic and misogynistic behavior.

Ms. Joke's only crime is that she likes Aizawa. Half of the Fandom lusts after him already, so why is it suddenly so detestable in canon that a woman is flirting with him and showing interest? She never steps out of bounds, never touches him without his consent, she just teases him. That's it.

Aizawa is a grown ass man, I'm sure if her advances actually bothered him, he wouldn't have literally sat beside her during the Licensing exam or agreed to a joint training session when she asked. We've seen how close he is with characters like Mic, Midnight, and All Might even with they annoy him, so why is Joke suddenly treated as some evil harpy? The only reason I've seen from most people for hating her and insulting her is that she "gets in the way" of EraserMic.

If you don't like a ship, fine, there's a lot of ships I hate, but Tumblr has a blacklist function for a reason. Use it. There's no reason to be rude.

i can't believe I've finally decided to post it- this is the first character x reader I've written for bnha actually. i apologise in advance if i've made some mistakes (English isn't my first language). i'm not really confident in my writing, i try to vary my vocabulary but i really hope you'll like it, and don't hesitate to request anything🥺

you were the new teacher hired in yuei, the hero school where you spent three years of your life. you didn't actually remember how it happened, but here you were, teaching martial arts to the students from all files.

you were also delighted to be back to your home city because of your long time friends, meaning eraserhead, present mic and midnight ; you studied together at yuei and actually did not have the chance to meet with them while you were working and saving people at the other side of the country.

this is how you ended up going on a date with nemuri, known as midnight. she was the one you were the most eager to see, as you had never been able to erase the love you felt for the woman. of course you both stayed in contact during the time you were away since nemuri insisted to, but you never had the chance to express your feelings to her - you feared rejection, you didn't want to ruin your friendship. and why would she choose you above all other ? she was one of the most famous heroes of japan after all, and you had nothing special.

as the stars were starting to be seen in the dark sky, you and nemuri left the restaurant you have been dining in.

"thank you for dinner, y/n. the night was delicious", nemuri said while you were wrapping your scarf around your neck. it was a little cold outside.

you slightly smiled and offered your arm to the woman.

"i'm glad you enjoyed your time. shall i walk you home ?"

"oh, you're such a darling." she winked and locked your arm with yours.

the streets were empty and silent at this time of the night, especially since the weather was not very welcoming, but you liked the feeling of having the person you loved most walking next to you ; it felt a lot warmer.

you kept walking silently, only enjoying each other's company until you eventually stopped in front of the main door of nemuri's house. she slowly removed her arm from yours, made a few steps forward and turned back to you, smiling.

that is when you took the opportunity to admire her features in the moonlight. oh to you, she looked like a goddess. you hadn't felt such things since that time in yuei - it was during a party held for the third years, after they graduated. you were the one nemuri invited, much to your surprise when a bunch of students- mostly boys, literally begged to have this chance. you danced a lot more than you would've expected (you couldn't resist your crush's puppy eyes), and soon found yourselves in need of fresh air, not feeling comfortable anymore with so much people around. that is when, and you still don't know what exactly led to that situation- maybe the suffocating warmth, or the alcohol, you caught yourself in nemuri's arms, with her cherry-like lips on yours and your hands roaming over her body. you would never properly admit it, but you instantly regretted the moment you had to part, breathing heavily and left out as a mess.

yes, kayama nemuri was the only person on earth that could make you lose the control and countenance you always imposed to yourself. that flame you felt burning hot during this certain party was precisely waking up now as you were looking at the woman standing before you.

oh, how you wanted her to make a mess of you again. how you were eager to have your fingers ghosting over her skin, sucking on her delicious neck. you were ready to give anything to have her mouth covering yours one more time, warm and lust filled tongues swinging together. whispering sweet nothings in her ear as her back arches under the pleasure your fingers were providing. your lips, your hands wanted to taste every part of her body, of the scent you wanted to drown yourself in.

you wanted her- you wanted her so badly that you didn't know how long you would be able to hold back ; you desperately wanted to be nemuri's- to belong to her and only her.

"y/n ?"

a soft and melodic voice interrupted your thoughts. you also realized she was standing close to you- so close your noses almost touched.

"are you alright ?" she whispered, a little glimpse of concern in her eyes.

"i- yes, i'm fine," you answered as you felt your breath growing heavier because of your sudden proximity.

nemuri gently pressed a finger on your recently humected lips, tracing their shape. you couldn't help but lean into her light touch- you left a little kiss on her index, causing her to chuckle a bit.

you knew deep inside it was too late- before you could even speak, her oh so smooth mouth was on yours.

your hands almost instantly gripped her gracious waist- you craved for her warmth. 

"why not stay a little longer, tonight ?" nemuri suggested with a playful smile between two incredibly heated kisses.

If I can offer one tip to other people that want to start an imagines blog, it's to never take emergency requests. It is not your job to make other people feel better. If you take emergency requests, it starts to make you feel like it is your job.

It isn't. And I promise you, it will drain the life out of you if you think it is.

There is no worse mindset to have than one where you feel obligated to rush your work and stifle your passion to make a stranger feel better. this is how you ended up going on a date with nemuri, known as midnight. she was the one you were the most eager to see, as you had never been able to erase the love you felt for the woman. of course you both stayed in contact during the time you were away since nemuri insisted to, but you never had the chance to express your feelings to her - you feared rejection, you didn't want to ruin your friendship. and why would she choose you above all other ? she was one of the most famous heroes of japan after all, and you had nothing special.

as the stars were starting to be seen in the dark sky, you and nemuri left the restaurant you have been dining in.

"thank you for dinner, y/n. the night was delicious", nemuri said while you were wrapping your scarf around your neck. it was a little cold outside.

you slightly smiled and offered your arm to the woman.

"i'm glad you enjoyed your time. shall i walk you home ?"

"oh, you're such a darling." she winked and locked your arm with yours.

the streets were empty and silent at this time of the night, especially since the weather was not very welcoming, but you liked the feeling of having the person you loved most walking next to you ; it felt a lot warmer.

you kept walking silently, only enjoying each other's company until you eventually stopped in front of the main door of nemuri's house. she slowly removed her arm from yours, made a few steps forward and turned back to you, smiling.

that is when you took the opportunity to admire her features in the moonlight. oh to you, she looked like a goddess. you hadn't felt such things since that time in yuei - it was during a party held for the third years, after they graduated. you were the one nemuri invited, much to your surprise when a bunch of students- mostly boys, literally begged to have this chance. you danced a lot more than you would've expected (you couldn't resist your crush's puppy eyes), and soon found yourselves in need of fresh air, not feeling comfortable anymore with so much people around. that is when, and you still don't know what exactly led to that situation- maybe the suffocating warmth, or the alcohol, you caught yourself in nemuri's arms, with her cherry-like lips on yours and your hands roaming over her body. you would never properly admit it, but you instantly regretted the moment you had to part, breathing heavily and left out as a mess.

yes, kayama nemuri was the only person on earth that could make you lose the control and countenance you always imposed to yourself. that flame you felt burning hot during this certain party was precisely waking up now as you were looking at the woman standing before you.

oh, how you wanted her to make a mess of you again. how you were eager to have your fingers ghosting over her skin, sucking on her delicious neck. you were ready to give anything to have her mouth covering yours one more time, warm and lust filled tongues swinging together. whispering sweet nothings in her ear as her back arches under the pleasure your fingers were providing. your lips, your hands wanted to taste every part of her body, of the scent you wanted to drown yourself in.

you wanted her- you wanted her so badly that you didn't know how long you would be able to hold back ; you desperately wanted to be nemuri's- to belong to her and only her.

"y/n ?"

a soft and melodic voice interrupted your thoughts. you also realized she was standing close to you- so close your noses almost touched.

"are you alright ?" she whispered, a little glimpse of concern in her eyes.

"i- yes, i'm fine," you answered as you felt your breath growing heavier because of your sudden proximity.

nemuri gently pressed a finger on your recently humected lips, tracing their shape. you couldn't help but lean into her light touch- you left a little kiss on her index, causing her to chuckle a bit.

you knew deep inside it was too late- before you could even speak, her oh so smooth mouth was on yours.

your hands almost instantly gripped her gracious waist- you craved for her warmth. 

"why not stay a little longer, tonight ?" nemuri suggested with a playful smile between two incredibly heated kisses.

you didn't even need to answer.
