Scara hated how good The Traveler was with words. The Traveler seemed to hear something in his silence, because he sat up and scooted a bit closer. “You already knew that, you just don’t like the idea of people caring about you. Because then they can leave you.” Scara nearly smacked him right then and there, and he knew damn well that wasn’t the erosion, but instead he just reared back and hissed. The Traveler smiled at him, something sad and fond and all sorts of things that Scara didn’t like seeing directed at him. ------ An exploration of a headcanon of mine, in which Scara is a case of Erosion. After Irminsul, Scara's slate is wiped clean, as is his erosion. Sort of. Aether decides to check on him. Title is a reference to "How do you talk to a star?" By Everybody's Worried about Owen, which I listened to way too much writing this fic.

Wriothesley and the rest of the crew meet a dragon, and things only get more fucked up from there. (Title is a reference to Island by SVRCINA.)

It Begins

Eldritch horror Neuvilette and pirate Wriothesely and general shenanigans is officially in the works (did I mention there's merfolk? I don't think I did. There's merfolk too.)

just remembered I'm allowed to post literally whatever I want so here's a fic idea I wrote one chapter of and haven't picked up since

Scara/Cyno. A ship that, at the time I thought of it, had exactly five fics and four of them were made by the same two people. I am absolutely delighted to report that I just looked and there's now a whole entire 22 in the tag! Yippee. It's not one of my main ships- but I am nothing if not a multishipper. I was chatting with my partner, who I often bounce ideas around with, and mentioned that those two should NEVER meet. The man who's all about justice, and that one motherfucker who tried to be god? Yeeeaaaah, not a good idea.

So, naturally, my next question was "What if they were gay?"

And thus, Debt Collector (yes it's a song) was born. It uh, died pretty quickly, but I could probably be persuaded to post what I have of it and mayyyyybe revive it if people liked it. 'Tis the curse of the auDHD author.

The whole fic idea, essentially:

Celestia, as fucked up as they are, go "Hey that guy got too close to being a god lets not let that go unpunished" and tell Cyno to go kill him

Problem; Scara can't be killed.

Solution; Meropide.

The fic takes place as they travel, fuckery ensues, and frankly I might actually brainstorm some ideas as to how my current headcanons for Scara would fit into that.

It's definitely not my favorite bit of the first chapter but here's a little blip:

The entity spoke again, voice gentle in a way. Condescending. It sounded like the way Cyno imagined he would speak to a toddler if one were to walk in on a torture session. “Will you be quiet and listen, now?” He couldn’t do anything but nod. His breath returned, and he gasped for air. He didn’t know why; he’d been able to breathe before, just unable to scream. The stranger stepped forward, towards Cyno’s side of the bed, and Cyno’s suspicions were confirmed. It walked just above the ground, light appearing where it stepped. It hurt to look at. “Don’t look too long. You wouldn’t look at the sun.” Another reminder that held gentle condescension. Cyno managed to unfreeze, if only for a moment. “What are you?” “We are Celestia.”

I'm going through old Genshin screenshots of mine and can I just. uh.

CAN I TALK ABOUT THIS FOR A SEC. That little tiny thing in the bottom left of the eye? That's my friend, who was playing as Lumine. That's a whole person. That eye is fucking HUGE, dragons are fucking HUGE and I know we already knew that but I feel like having to ask my friend to stand in the eye because I couldn't get a picture of the full thing without running away quite a bit just really solidified it for me. I thought I was being dramatic about scale with how I write Zhongli's true form- who within my headcanons is a Sovereign- but honestly?

Yeah no, I wasn't. This fucker is way bigger. I think it's easy to forget scale because "made up a mountain range" is big, but it's also inconceivable in a weird way. Seeing the eye, just the eye, next to Lumine? I fucking love dragons. I will never shut up about dragons and this is a good example of why.

This discord message I sent to my partner sums it up pretty well.

I WAS EXPECTING THE LORE DROPS. I WAS PREPARED FOR MONUMENTAL, WORLD-CHANGING, COMPLETELY MIND-BREAKING LORE DROPS.

I was not prepared for a sweet, emotional quest. I was not prepared for the siblings. I was not prepared for the fucking bedtime story. I was not prepared for ANY OF THAAAAAAAAAAAT /pos

Like we did get huge lore drops!! They just didn't break my brain as much as "Hey, Celestia isn't the original god, there were these Sovereigns" and "Hey actually guess what Teyvat isn't the name of the planet, it's the name of the CONTINENT, and there is place outside of it called the Dark Sea. Actually Teyvat is just the part of the planet that Celestia rules." And that's not a complaint- especially because once I think more about the implications, the lore drops we got are a big deal. We just don't have the information to figure out exactly how yet- or at least, I don't, not on hand in my brain.

We got even more emotions though. I feel like I'm kind of salty about the fact that The Traveler knows less about it than we do, now, and doesn't remember the thing with Lumine- BUT overall I actually liked this quest.

Also, HOLY SHIT?????? CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE VOICE DIALOGUE????? can we PLEASE (I am trying not to use too much caps I'm so fucking excited) talk about "Aether-" "You're the only one who calls me that in this world." Can we talk about the fact that it's now CANON that Aether is Aether, that the player name is only an alias. I've seen fics- albeit not many since I don't read a bunch of fanfic centered around the Traveler- portray Aether as actually very secretive. I don't know how prominent that is in fanon, but I'm starting to feel like it's canon- and I don't know that just!! makes me feel things. I haven't put much thought into Aether as a character in a long time, but I think I'm going to have to now. /pos

I don't have a bunch to say about Caribert right now just because I'm exhausted, but HHHHHH my heart couldn't take any of that and I absolutely adored it all.

As someone with a billion headcanons, I am obligated to reblog this.

However I genuinely cannot figure out where most of mine land on. I feel like a lot could be placed on either 2 or 4, and character headcanons and lore headcanons are NOT the same. On one hand, I often just make shit up- but I do actually read the lore so I can make shit up right. I mean don't get me wrong I just sort of throw things together and they're way out of left field (see: Scara as a textbook case of erosion, Neuvilette as the original Hydro Sovereign rather than a reincarnation, the abyss as infinity embodied) but they do have a basis in canon in the sense that like... I work with canon most of the time. "The Fatui is a cult" is one of the easiest ones, canon practically does that for me- Scara as a case of erosion is pretty easy too, albeit a newer headcanon, since he really does experience what could be interpreted as symptoms! Most of my lore-based headcanons especially are basically just "We don't have answers yet so I'm making them."

idk man, my headcanons are so out of left field that they feel like lvl 4 but they're not really... I think.

it came to my realization that 99% of my fandom related headaches would be cured if everyone understood this

I apologize in advance for using your post as a jumping off point for this ramble. But I fucking love these two and I will never shut up about them, soooo....

I love the idea of Wriothesely getting repeatedly jumpscared by how powerful Neuvilette is in every sense of the word. Neuvilette being strong and able to lift things is just one example- I think it'd be damn near a running bit. The problem is, Neuvilette is terrified of making the humans around him feel... Small.

This fear is completely warranted. He's a Sovereign- and within the context of my headcanons, he's even the original rather than a reincarnation so it's even worse. He doesn't like to flaunt his power, he prefers to blend in and not scare the people he wants to keep close. His power as Iudex alienates him enough already, he can't have that getting out of hand. So he lets Wriothesely do the heavy lifting, the fighting, and he keeps his mouth shut. Except that doesn't always work.

I just feel like Wriothesely slowly but surely noticing things would be so fun. Land animals cower when Neuvilette walks by like he's a predator they should fear, but the fish still swim up to him when he walks onto (not by) the lake to feed them occasionally. Neuvilette tears effortlessly through some enemy that gets too close, and he barely has to move to direct the hydro- just a quick precise motion with his hand. After the flood he moves differently; more fluidly and without the awkwardness from before. Wriothesely slowly realizes that he mayyyybe has underestimated Neuvilette, and starts to wonder just how much power is underneath the surface and why it seems so inhuman and ancient.

This is barely related to the original post by now so I'm gonna stop here, but just UGH /pos it reminded me of my feelings about Neuvilette being a force of fucking nature. I feel like it's kind of easy to forget because he's so emotional, and when he's not emotional he's being very prim and proper, but this man is an ancient fucking dragon. He's just good at containing himself. He's not fragile even though I'm sure Wriothesely kind of thinks he is for a while.

one of my all time favourite wriolette tropes is wriothesley thinking he has to do all the heavy lifting in the relationship; he’s always offering to carry things for neuvillette, ranging from a few books to heavy crates. wriothesley can handle ‘tougher’ jobs like that, he’s used to heavy lifting, besides, the chief justice with his elegant, princely appearance shouldn’t have to worry about things menial labour.

neuvillette always lets him, finding it endearing how much wriothesley goes out of his way to be such a gentleman for the people he cares about.

but one day, the duke is very obviously struggling to lift something, to the point where neuvillette is worried about him hurting himself. sigewinne would never let him live it down if he allowed wriothesley to pull a muscle doing something silly like trying to be too helpful for his own good.

“if you’ll allow me, your grace..”

before wriothesley can even argue, neuvillette is lifting the large crate with ease, barely breathing out so much as a sigh as he effortlessly moves the crate from one table to another.

needless to say, wriothesley’s idea of ‘the delicate iudex’ was quickly shattered, but he was not disappointed to learn his partner was far stronger than he looks. quite the opposite, actually.
