Today at Field // a little sad to find my residency spot like this // some of the toxic ragwort has been removed, but so unceremoniously / careless that this has taken down all of the medicinal plants too // I know from visiting here for over two years that these grasses will recover and regrow in no time // a timely reminder that nothing stays the same for long // much of the grass has been cut elsewhere on the field - it’s all dried up now being a fire hazard // a wake / soar / kettle / husk (all variations on their collective noun!) of six kites are hunting over the mowed fields - a number I’ve never seen here before! This is Callissia Fragrans under the microscope! I am grateful beyond human words to @sonia__levy for these stunning images. A successful start to a beautiful remote collaboration! Thank you! 🔬 There is something captivating about the images being ever so slightly unattainable, fuzzy at the edges, bringing edges to the centre in layers no unlike human skin, yet shifting away from the human focus. 🌿 Read about my project Hidden (2020 onwards) via the link in my linktree.
