i think realistically and how i would want it to be done contradict each other a bit.

i would want it done via a genuine exploration of mia's feelings towards men and her unpacking how it relates both to her trauma and her sexuality. and the unfortunate blurred lines between the two. the comphet i could fit in this bad boy is crazy

i think you’re missing the point. what defines self-defense vs first degree homicide and whether or not random ppl should be considered murderers for defending themselves is not what i’m arguing about here. i’m arguing about ppl’s belief that batman should have full discretion to execute ppl based on what he believes to be the greater good, including ppl like the joker (who actually isn’t even the worst villain he’s faced lmao). we also have this conversation about cops and the death penalty all the time hence why i mentioned them. batman believes in rehabilitative justice, which is why him killing for any reason would be out of character and why he doesn’t and shouldn’t do it. also this is comics. this is not the real world. batman doesn’t have to kill in self-defense bc he’s batman. the story is designed to let him always find a way out or find a way to save ppl without breaking his moral code. sometimes he fails and ppl still die but it’s not bc he didn’t choose to kill someone, it’s to remind us that he is not infallible and can’t save everyone.

batman does not have the right to kill ppl the same way cops should not have the right to kill ppl. the same way federal and state governments should not have the right to kill ppl. believe it or not murder is bad! also yes this DOES include the joker!
