Okay but how do you think you have the right to keep dropping "anthropomorphizing" into every animal post when scientists continue to release studies of animals' umwelts that can be summarized as "Strangely Enough(TM), The Animal In Question Seems To Have Many Of The Same Traits We Do." Like. How arrogant do you have to be to think that humans are the only animal capable of full sentience?
dude, the study of animal cognition is the area where we have to be the MOST careful against anthropomorphizing!
animals absolutely have cognizance and intelligence of their own, but it's VERY different from ours. so if we want to truly understand animal behavior, we have to be very, very, VERY careful against deliberately or accidentally assigning human motivations to animal behavior of any type.
and that's what "anthropomorphizing" is- assigning purely human motivations to the behavior of non-human beings, and ignoring their own very real actual inner lives and motivations.
