Okay theorizing time

I’m going to flat out say it, and this isn’t *just* because I’m in denial.

I do not think Tech is dead

Reason number one, as @oo-hazel-oo pointed out, he’s just too smart. Even when falling to his death and sacrificing himself, his brain was probably working over time for any solution(s), and I don’t believe that he would have just let himself fall

Reason number two, the Empire is known to lie to get what they want. And just lie for fun.

Reason number three, Hemlock is trying to create a “superior” species by genetic engineering. Tech’s brain is so magnificent in so many ways, he is probably candidate number 1 for who’s brain to copy.

Reason number four, no body.

Reason number five, it’s my birthday and I make the rules. Tech isn’t dead
