Finally, they arrived.

Your boyfriend, Hvitserk, his brothers along with other brave warriors, went to England to raid and, after months, they were back. Hvitserk was back.

“Ubbe, Ivar, Bjorn, I’m so happy you’re returned” you said with a big smile on your face and hugged them. But as you broke the hug, you noticed that someone was missing.

“Where’s Hvitserk?” You asked. You were so excited to see him again. But, the brothers exchanged a look, not good.

“Y/N, I’m sorry but he is gone” Ubbe said as your eyes were starting to fill with tears.

“No, no, it can’t be” you mumbled. Hvitserk was dead, everything was destroyed. He had promised you that when he was back home, you two would’ve started a family.

“don’t cry sweet Y/N, I’m sure he is in Valhalla now” Ivar said, it didn’t comfort you the way he excepted, but at least he tried.

“if you want, you can see him one last time, before the funeral” Bjorn added.

you nodded and followed him.

“Take all the time you need” Bjorn said and left.

You entered and saw Hvitserk. His body on his bed, lifeless, he was pale, his face was covered in blood and dirt.

You broke down and fall next to him. You couldn’t stop yourself, tears started pouring down your cheeks.

“You promised we would be a family! You said that we’d grow old together. You promised” you shouted at his lifeless body “how am I supposed to move on now? Please come back to me, I’m begging you, please” you sobbed but he didn’t come back.
