Website roleplay is funny like that. It becomes so intertwined that it becomes difficult to keep up with. It doesn't help that my most active blogs (zeralight-asks and the-writer-machine) often don't use the tag, though that's due to some post being more suited for the pokemon roleplay sphere (rotomblr).

Heck, I've had that issue for rotomblr as well, though likely due to their reliance on discord servers to stage more plot important interactions rather than supplemental chats. It's easier to do that, but it makes it way more difficult for others to follow along.

Now that I'm thinking about it, that might just be an issue with the medium itself; It's difficult to piece together what's going on if you don't follow everything involved, and if you do then it can still be hard because it's either overwhelming or tumblr sucks. And when the stories involve another platform entirely, it's easy to just give up-

It also doesn't help that os game rp in general has become pretty complicated in terms of everyone's lore. "#onerole" was created to ground the scene to just oneshot and oneshot-constrained original characters, but it only has a handful of blogs.

That said, there have been attempts to keep track of select plots, often called arcs. @/os-mapmaker (and me) made a few posts under "#os arc map" that attemps to chronicle certain arcs, and @/the-writer-machine has a list of "companions" that are individual stories between Emma and another character.

We're also prone to rambling and infodumping, so feel free to ask us about the stuff you wanna know about :3

Hey so, really didn't wanna make this post but

It's super likely we're gonna be short on rent this month. Wife's last paycheck came in today, & we're prolly gonna be about $500 short. We're good on food, thanks to food stamps/food bank, but a little of that will be for gas, since she & us both have to find new work.

Our household is 4 humans:

Us - physically disabled/chronically ill, haven't been able to work for over a year & a half, currently trying to find new work through staffing agencies & government services, but everything is likely going to be too slow to get any kind of paycheck or financial aid in time. Not to mention any work we do find is going to be less than ideal & just make our health worse, since we're still in the beginning of getting treatment. We're also trying to get on the waitlist for disability, but that's an even longer process & we're unlikely to qualify since we're married.

Our wife - former mechanic, with dual bachelor's in History/Business. She's been chronically ill for the last few months, something we're still trying to figure out. Her direct bosses were more than willing to work with her, but corporate management got impatient & basically fired her. She's looking for new work but the loss is hitting her hard. She's also applied for unemployment but the application hasn't been approved yet.

My brother - fresh out of high school, kicked out of the family household because he came out as bisexual. We took him in because there was literally no one else. He's not on the lease & needs to be as soon as he finds work, but that's another $250 none of us have. His living situation was… not ideal before, & he needs a lot of personal help to find work, something which we don't have enough time to do.

Partner/roommate - another partner & roommate who lives with us, also because her old family kicked her out (& also not on the lease). Also severely disabled, the only income she has is food stamps & blood plasma donations. We're also trying to get her help to reapply for disability; but as anyone knows, that's a long & difficult process. Her last attempt several years ago was denied; it's likely she needs a new application.

What happens if we can't pay rent ontime?

We're asking for more information from our landlord, but we're likely not going to be evicted first thing. Even if we do receive an eviction notice, WE HAVE RESOURCES. Unfortunately, they don't activate UNTIL we get that notice. Very helpful.

If worst comes to worst & we do get kicked out, it will likely be VERY BAD. None of us are "fully functioning/capable" individuals, a lot of us depend on specific equipment & setups in the apartment, & almost all of us are on a variety of very necessary medications. Everyone here has a mental health situation of some kind that will be made a lot worse by losing our apartment. We don't think it will come to that, but it's still something that makes everyone here super anxious.

Update on the new RP blog:

I’ve finished designing 3 of the 4 characters’ base sprites. It’s taken a little while since I decided to learn 2 programs that I had never used before, but I think the designs turned out pretty good. Once the last character’s base sprite is finished, I’ll only need to design the different expressions for each character (which shouldn’t take nearly as long), and possibly the blog’s banner. Then the blog will be up and ready for asks!

Hello. I’m sorry about taking yet another unannounced hiatus. Although, most of us on OS Game RP did seem to take a bit of a summer break so I guess it wasn’t much of a surprise.

Life has been pretty busy lately. I worked as a summer camp counselor for July and half of August, and I just moved in for my first year of college not even a week ago. I’m currently in marching band camp which takes up most of my day.

But that really isn’t why I haven’t been RPing. Truth is…I’ve kind of been struggling to get into the mindset of Mapmaker or the Tide Arc narrator. I used to be able to just naturally know how they would respond to or describe what’s going on, but I feel like I can’t do that anymore. I still want to RP, but I need to get my head back into my characters.

So, how am I going to return to Tumblr RP?

By making a new blog!

I think the best way to get the RPing part of my brain to function again is by doing something that I want to. And this is a blog I wanted to make for a while and have been slowly working towards making. It still has a bit of a ways to go, since most of the character sprites still need to be made, but I think it should hopefully be active soon (don’t hold me to that though, I’m terrible at judging how long things take).

A little bit about the upcoming blog: I showed the characters of this upcoming blog a month ago, although initially only one character will be there, with the others joining afterwards one by one (it’ll make more sense when it happens). Another thing that I think will make this blog really interesting is that each character will be a different art style/art type.

This blog is not going to be OS Game RP, since they have no relation to OneShot, but I suspect most interaction will be with OS Game RP anyway. I’m hoping to have some minor characters introduced after the main 4, and I want to create some conflicts and fight scenes between the characters and maybe with some characters from other blogs.

Anyway TL;DR, I’m hopefully going to be coming back soon with a brand new blog that I’m really passionate about, and one that reignites my RP abilities I should hopefully FINALLY finish that godforsaken Tide Arc.

P.S.: If you followed my old RP blog, you might notice that blog doesn’t exist anymore. I’ve archived the posts, and will be reusing that blog for the new one. There may or may not be a preview of the new blog’s name there right now…

Hello.

I normally communicate here through temporary cryptic flashing messages, but this message is important for everyone following “The Mapmaker”.

Not too long ago, I mentioned a countdown which would conclude on the 6th day of the 6th month at 6 in the evening (EST).

However, due to unexpected circumstances, this countdown has been extended. It is not clear when exactly it will hit zero right now, but it will likely not be for a long time.

I will update you all once I have an exact time, likely through my usual form of communication as of now.
