Of all the timelines I have visited so far, yours is easily the most complex. So, to start simple, would you mind telling me about yourself?

Oh, I've been waiting for this!

Well, first off, I'm a World Machine operator.

I don't think there's many of those who are actively on here.

I'm also a writer, someone who enjoys making stories and characters and putting them on here!

...Well, I haven't been able to do that recently, considering everything that's been happening.

And there's been a LOT, I hope you're ready.

If I may ask, why have you been rooted in such a place, devoid of any light? Surely your world has had its sun returned, right?

Ah, a journalist? It is little I can offer, I'm afraid. Perhaps our voices shall be enough, for this. I may... not have all the answers you need, inquisitive one, ...but I will attempt, nonetheless.

This place may be dark. But sometimes it gifts us light of sources unknown to myself.

It is where I was taken, after... well. After I aided our savior, with the strength I had left. I was blessed to see them one last time, at the end of their journey but...

My work in this world is over. This is a place to rest, or perhaps it's what comes after it is all over.

You see, this website acts as a singularity where numerous timelines converge. What this means is that you will likely run into different versions of the same people…

…including yourself.

It will likely feel weird talking to yourself at first, but you will certainly become used to it over time.

I believe that is all I have to share for now.

You know, you are the last person I would have thought would ever click a link from an unknown source. So if I may politely ask, what exactly was your thought processing behind the decision that nearly trapped you within your machine?

I was running the program in a virtual machine environment, I didn't think it could break free and cause havoc.

Oh, that’s right. You have not met me yet, Niko. You may call me The Mapmaker.

I will try to explain what has been going on as best as I can.

The Writer was abducted by Team Rainbow Rocket and taken to a fortress established in another timeline, the one you recently returned from, Niko. Somino and their roommates Rizu, Asa, and Sage, had also been kidnapped by them and taken there. I was assisting [Redacted] in finding them all. That is why I was in such a hurry earlier.

Niko…I knew as soon as you found out The Writer was taken, you would try to go after him. I couldn’t allow that to happen, not after what happened to you last time. So asked The World Machine to prevent you from leaving your home timeline for your safety. And, after learning the kind of pain the other four were put through, I am glad that I made that decision.

World Machine, thank you for helping on such short notice, and keeping Niko safe.

The Writer has been found by [Redacted] and the others. Unfortunately, he is currently unconscious. He collapsed just as the others found him. [Redacted] is currently carrying him. If I am not mistaken, they should be making their way out of the fortress as we speak .

You will see each other again soon. Until then, Niko, I must ask that you stay within your timeline.

Now that everyone is safe, there is a certain someone who has been incredibly worried about you. I asked The World Machine to keep them within their timeline to prevent them from trying to come after you. You should contact them as soon as possible to let them know you are okay.

I think it is time that I reveal some information about my home, The Inversion.

Within The Inversion, the roles of time and space are, as the name implies, inverted.

Timelines manifest themselves physically in this dimension…as long as they cross through the Singularity.

What is the Singularity? Well, it is the point at which many different timelines intersect. Many of you know this singularity as “Tumblr.”

Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of timelines are not linear. Timelines change shape depending on the actions and inactions of their residents.

Exiting The Inversion is simple; an object simply needs to make contact with a timeline to be sent to it.

Entering, however, is a completely different story. The only safe way to enter the inversion is through me. I possess the ability to return to The Inversion from any timeline on command, regardless of my position within that timeline. I can bring anyone back with me by choosing to return while holding their hand (or another limb if they do not have hands).

Although, besides directly accessing other timelines, there is little reason to want to enter The Inversion. The only other things you would find here are my workstation, the Fifh tank, and an infinite white void.

But if anyone from a connected timeline needs quick, direct access to another connected timeline, and I am not busy at the, feel free to ask me and I will gladly transport you to The Inversion.
