okay well go on, tell us your parents’ very romantic meet cute story then

ok haha I hope I haven't over sold this. so both of my parents went to the same university and were there at the same time and involved in similar activities. we even found a photo of my mom at a college party where my dad is in the background. but they never met, which my dad says is a good thing because he would have been too immature for her then. 😂

after my mom graduates, she gets a job in London. she loves it there, makes lots of friends, even gets a boyfriend. in an alternate universe they get married and she and my dad never meet. but eventually her visa expires, and she doesn't want to move back to the states, so she spends some time backpacking around europe, working an under-the-table waitress job, living her best life.

unfortunately, (or I guess fortunately, for my existence) after a year or so of this her dad is like 'I didn't pay your college tuition for you to be a waitress. you need to get a real job 😠' my mom is like well I like to travel so much maybe I should work for a travel agency. she hears about this one travel agency with a boss that has a reputation for being kind of heinous but my mom needs a job so she applies.

now my dad's mom ran her own travel agency (#girlboss). and around this time her husband was away for work a lot so my dad took a job at her company to help her out. I guess she had a reputation for being strict because one time my dad was at a travel convention or something and a stranger said to him "oh you work for betty jane? she's horrible!" and my dad replied "oh, mom's not so bad."

anyway, when my mom applied for a position at this travel agency, my grandma saw where she went to university, and said 'you have to meet my son.' she gave her the job and that's how they met. :)
