If I may ask, how did you learn to draw? Your art looks phenomenal!
Thank you! I’d say I’m mostly self-taught. I do have some formal education, but not specifically in drawing. I’m currently doing my Master’s in Illustration, but we're mostly just working on our projects. I suppose it’s assumed that we already learned how to draw, but I came from a Graphic Design background, which is quite different. And as a kid I went to an art school, but it was mostly just for fun. I often feel sad that I never received proper technical training in drawing, anatomy, or academic painting - especially when I compare myself to those who did. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been left behind.
I think I kind of learned to draw naturally, just because I’ve been doing it since childhood. But there are a few things that have genuinely helped me grow as an artist. First, studying the work of other artists. When I want to create something cool, I find a piece that inspires me, keep it nearby, and try to make something of my own at that level. Second, drawing from life. I don’t do it often, but there were a few periods when I did. At one point, I regularly attended life drawing sessions with quick nude figure sketches. At another, I would draw while watching films. I noticed my style improved after that. Third, the ink-imitating Photoshop brushes I bought some years ago :) Sure, there are plenty of free ones out there, but in my case, the paid brushes really helped me improve the quality of my linework.

Hello, I’ve followed your art for a long time and I’m happy to see you posting again! I’ve always wanted to know more about the character that appears so often in your work, and I hope you’re still working on stuff with them
Hey, glad to hear that! I’ve been too overwhelmed to post anything for a long time... If you mean my original characters - I haven’t worked on them in quite a while, and right now I just don’t have the energy for that kind of art. I’m currently working on my master’s project for university, along with several smaller ones, which keeps me constantly busy. On top of that, there have been a lot of changes in my life that really drained me, and at some point, I stopped drawing for myself. That’s when I turned to fanart - which had a surprisingly therapeutic effect on me. It turned out to be much easier and more comforting than my usual work and, to be honest, it brought me more recognition. I do hope to return to my original stuff eventually, but first, I need to sort a few things out.

I'm still not over the Joker wearing a dress. P.S. I'm going to keep posting this kind of stuff here — we'll see how it goes.

I hope you post more of the Joker in Drag (so utterly amazing). Please don't pay attention to the hate in the comment section x
It made me sad to realize that my art could trigger someone, but I actually started the discussion in the comments myself because I wanted to understand what I should be mindful of. I'm not ready to completely give up drawing drag, but maybe it’s time I consider creating an AO3 account and posting that kind of content there, with all the necessary warnings, so no one accidentally stumbles across it in their feed and gets upset. If I decide to go that route, I’ll be sure to announce it. Thanks so much for your support!

Hey! I saw that someone in the comments giving you shit about your Joker in dress artwork. I just wanted to let you know I think the piece is amazing! Someone getting that upset about it, thinking it's offensive, is way over the top in my opinion, no matter what their reasoning is. I hope it doesn't dissuade you from making more amazing pieces in the future!
Hey, thank you so much for your support! 💜
It was a somewhat sad revelation to learn that the things I like can trigger someone so much, as it was never my intention to offend anyone. But it's hard for me to judge from the perspective of people whose shoes I haven't walked in.

I’ve wanted to draw the Joker in a dress ever since I saw this excerpt from the script for ‘Arkham Asylum’ by Grant Morrison:
"Pale and emaciated, he should look simply grotesque, but standing there, hand on out-thrust hip, he projects an absolute confidence that confers upon him a bizarre kind of attractiveness and sexuality". Edited: I added boobs.

Another Joker I drew a long time ago but couldn't finish until now. I tried to make him look handsome :)

Not the Joker this time. It's a drag-queen Yvie Oddly dressed as Beetlejuice.

I’m sorry for those, who came here because of the Joker: it seems like I’m not very fast. But soon there will be more drawings, as I’m having fun drawing him.
