Protest Flyers, free to use, original content

I got tired of seeing AI flyers and wanted to give people an accessible alternative--so I made several flyers in different styles. These include grayscale versions for printers that don't do color and versions with textboxes so that people who only have access to MS Paint can easily add legible text. They are all 839 x 1191, which should work for A5 paper (albeit a bit low res because imgur ate my dpi, it seems). Here's an example of one design:

Subjects range from American imagery to various locations (hopefully one of which looks vaguely like where you live)!

If there are any reasonable tweaks I can do to make these flyers work better for you, please let me know! Adjusting brightness/contrast and colors is easy. I may have to decline things like drawing a whole new design, however.

I usually don't talk about my politics anywhere but irl and on reddit, but this is serious. If you are an American and you believe in the Constitution and the idea of democracy, the time has come to fight for them. Please don't give up hope before we've actually lost. There are judges, federal workers, representatives, and many, many other Americans who are also fighting to save our country from fascism.

What we are trying to save and to improve is precious, and it will only be harder to fix later if we don't act now. But we can't despair either. As AOC said, "[this administration] is a monster that feeds on your fear." (If you are struggling with this, as I have been, her stream on YouTube is very good at turning that despair into more useful clarity.)

No spoilers, but Charlotte here is instrumental to the Madoka episode that made me fall in love with the show (although the animation studio's incredible use of texture also helped).

Let's hit the beach and get some EYEce cream (I just googled to see if Monster High already did this pun and the one they went with was apparently ice scream, which would certainly have been easier to figure out how to spell).

(edit: had to fix the color balance because I forgot how inaccurate my tablet's reds are!)

Inspired by the color scheme--rich, dark blue against reddish orange has been on my mind. I was also pushing myself to incorporate the bug-lady covered in more bugs with the background elements (dang, I should have made the entire background more bugs).

There was a point at around hour eight where I started shading each moth individually, which...looked bad and tired my soul out almost immediately. I guess I'm also trying to work on not focusing way too hard on minor details!

The original plan was to go over those doodled sand dollars and starfish with more detailed rendering, but I ended up liking the cartoon quality of them contrasted against Ocean Lady.

I intended to play with a cool skin texture brush and ended up drawing the whole thing with it which I'm sure was not its purpose 😅

You have a thought like, "What would Randy Marsh look like if he were in Paradise Killer?" and gosh darn it you have to draw it.

With this one, I really wanted to play with subtle browns and a strong light direction. I was also getting into one-layer painting, which it turns out I find less stressful than trying to keep super neat lines and remember what's on a bunch of layers.

The *other* thing was I had noticed a lot of artists adding a kind of warm midtone at the edges of their shadows and oh wow it looked really good! So this was me trying out a lot of new ideas.

The inspiration for this one was a cool pose I saw and, "Blue. Make her blue. Make everything blue."

This drawing is special to me. When I finally gained access to the internet as a child I stumbled into the shiny world of random anime drawings at the end of Quizilla quizzes and something clicked in me.

I wanted to draw like that. I wanted to make the cat girls and the angels crying blood and the demons wearing plaid skirts and safety pins.

By the time I could possibly approach that sacred task, my art style had naturally deviated into whatever the heck it is now. But, I still felt the longing...
