[Shirei, Shizo’s Caretaker]

This alter’s been lying around in my binder for two weeks now actually but I never found the time to post it here ... well school sometimes can suck. Nevermind.

Lovely [Shirei] is a 2/2 legendary spirit for five mana. Doesn’t look very strong ... untiiiiil you read its text. Oh the shenanigans you could do with it! Still it is nothing for me personally, as it ain’t got no green o’ blue, man. Although I do love reanimating my stuff so it doesn’t get lost ...

What is your favorite reanimation card? Is it the actual [Reanimate]? Maybe [Muldrotha], or even good bad old [Eternal Witness]? Let me know!

[Momir Vig, Simic Visionary]

Another commission, again for the same customer that ordered the [Endless Ranks of the Dead]. If I remember correctly, he said it is one of his commanders, so I hope he has fun with his freshly altered card.

I once actually also played [Momir] as a general when I first got into commander and someone told me: “What you will always want in your commander are a few good tutors!” So I thought to myself: “What’s better than a few tutors in your commander? Your general beeing your ultimate tutor himself!” It turned out to be pretty fun.

For this cards art I tried to do something a little bit in a classic comic style as this version of Momir always somewhat reminds me of DC or Marvel.

[Tasigur, the Golden Fang]

Here is an alter that I actually did, like, three weeks ago, but that I haven’t had the time to upload up until now. It is a commission that I did for my best friend who is part of my regular EDH playgroup.

He is now playing [Tasigur] as his new commander ... and it turns out this card is better than I expected. Infinite combos incoming! :D

[Command Tower]

Through coincidence I acquired this lovely little C17 [Command Tower] and as I already have one in every of my commander decks I thought to myself “why not alter it?”

It turned out a little harder than I expected, because these glares around the light in the sky (is it some kind of portal? idk ...) were really difficult to paint. But now I am ready and it turned out pretty okay I think. Hit me up if you want to buy it! I am sure you will need another Command Tower in the future anyways ... ;)

[Endless Ranks of the Dead]

Yay! My second commission!

About a week ago I found that I still had a playset of [Endless Ranks of the Dead] from when I started playing MtG. It was around the time that Amonkhet was released and I had that fun casual Orzhov Zombies deck, that I played with my friends at school and with my brother at home all the time. But now as I am almost only playing EDH, it didn’t make any sense for me to keep it any longer, and as the price for this card is still about 4€ as I post this, I asked in my LGS’s WhatsApp group if anyone wanted the playset. The same day this nice person texted me that they wanted it ... and even one of the cards altered by me!

At first a was a bit insecure, when I started altering it, because the artwork seemed so SUPER dark at the artworks borders, and I didnt want to simply paint everything in black. But after some time looking at it more closely and mixing paints to find matching tones, everything seemed a lot more interesting, than I thought in the beginning. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

So here it is. I hope they ike it!

[Scavenging Ooze]

EC-SC’OOZE ME?! What did you say you have in your graveyard? Well ... whatever it was, now you don’t!

This lovely [Sc’ooze] is great in all kinds of EDH decks. And I am personally especially looking forward to playing it in my upcoming Atraxa Commander, for that I ordered all the remainning cards yesterday.

One thing that I really love about this card is also its artwork. Because although this is just a smol oozy boi, he looks super buff, probably referring to all the +1/+1 counters they get, when eating the rotten corpses in your opponents’ graveyards.

[Inexorable Tide]

Another enchantment alter …

I did it last night, instead of learning for my biology test on wednesday … really was a bad idea … BUT I SO LOVE [THIS CARD] ! I played it in my Ezuri EDH deck, and now that I am changing him to Atraxa, I will keep playing it. Curious how it will turn out in the deck …

[Oath of Teferi]

Oh my gosh. I was so excited when I first played this card in my Estrid EDH deck … and I was not disappointed! [Oath of Teferi] is probably the best of the planeswalkers’ oaths and absolutely amazing in any kind of EDH Superfriends deck!

Also it was so much fun painting this alter. Great colours and this wonderful difference between the foamyness of the clouds and the smooth sails of the Weatherlight!

[Danitha Capashen, Paragon]

The first commisson I ever did! So happy! I am going to give it to my lovely customer today at our LGS. It is something a little different from what I’ve done so far because he requested it like this. Also a little more challenging than usual, it didn’t turn out completely like I wanted, still I am quite content.

Where would you play [this card] ? Do you think it would be a good commander, or is it rather a card for a standard auras deck?

[Champion of Dusk]

A Rivals of Ixalan Alteration! [Champion of Dusk]. I actually don’t play a lot of Black … or Vampire tribal, but I guess this could be a good card in a [Edgar Markov] deck. Could it?

Although this one took me quite some time, especially the highlight parts and getting a smooth color transition, I am not very content with it. What do you think?

[Treasure Cruise]

This time I wanted to try something a little more challenging than what I have painted so far … so I looked through my collection and this lovely CMC 8 common from Khans of Tarkir jumped into my mind! I always loved its artwork and colour schemes…

[Treasure Cruise] can draw you three cards for one single {U} in the right deck. Insane, right? Also there might be ways to even profit from its high cost without using the delve keyword cost reduction, such as in a [Yuriko, the Tiger’s Shadow] EDH Deck!

[Cathedral of War]

The third alter I did for my Estrid EDH Deck! I am playing her as an Aura-Voltron-Deck with cards like [Yavimaya Enchantress], [Sovereigns of lost Alara], [Armadillo Cloak] and of course this wonderful land: [Cathedral of War]! It can give your voltron-creature “Exalted” and is hard to get rid off …

Also its dark, grey-black artwork is pretty cool! How do you like it?

[Prison Term]

Well, apparently this isn’t my actual first alter, the first one I did was about a year ago and really not that good, so I will upload this as my first official alter!
