Text ID: Sometimes I feel when I pray too much that I’ll annoy God. But then I think, I’d rather get to heaven and have Jesus say, [italicized] “now there’s a familiar voice” than to hear him say, [italicized] “it’s nice to finally hear from you.” End ID.

jesus was human. sometimes it hits me and im incapable of thinking about anything else. jesus got blisters for walking barefoot & spent entire nights wide awake & got teary eyed while listening to people sing & joked around with his friends & was good with his hands & went swimming in the river when it got too hot & laughed so hard he cried & kissed his mother goodbye & liked when people played with his hair & was always kind to children & stopped to pet stray dogs & got grumpy when he was tired & wept for his life & asked to not be left alone & bled & loved & lived & died

Oh, to meet someone who feels heaven sent to keep you from discouragement and the validation of them saying the same of you. Truly finding someone you can rest in is one of the highest forms of companionship.

God’s goal is always union, which is very different from any private perfection (which is merely a goal of the small ego). Our carefully constructed ego container must gradually crack open (see John 12:24) as we realize that we are not separate from God, from others, or from our True Selves. We see that we have an eternal soul. Our ego slowly learns to become the servant of the soul instead of its master.

ID: A tweet by Pope Francis @/Pontifex that reads -
Some people cannot overcome the embarrassment of going to confession. Feeling ashamed means you are not happy about what you have done. This is a good sign, but never allow shame to imprison you, because God is not ashamed of you. He always loves you. #Lent.

“To be with G-d is really to be involved with some enormous, overwhelming desire, and joy, and power which you cannot control, which controls you. I conceive of my own life as a journey toward something I do not understand, which in the going toward, makes me better. I conceive of G-d, in fact, as a means of liberation and not a means to control others. Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up.”
— James Baldwin, In Search of a Majority (1960)

How is it to be a lesbian and catholic? Iam a lesbian and ive been getting interested in the catholic religion,i like to learn about religions. (Sorry if its not written good, english isnt my first language)
For me, it’s something that just is? I’m sure plenty of straight Catholics feels the same way - their sexuality exists, it is part of how they were divinely made, and while it can tempt sin, it’s still natural and not something to be ashamed of. My sexuality just happens to not be compatible with the sacrament of Catholic marriage and that’s fine with me - I know several Catholic men and women who just…never married and lived their faithful single lives. It’s possible some of them were also queer and, like me, made peace with their faith and their sexuality. Being attracted to the same sex isn’t a sin anymore than being attracted to the opposite sex. It’s how you act on that attraction within the law of the Church. Humanae Vitae is clear that human sexuality is not a shameful, sinful aspect of ourselves that must be kept behind closed doors. We were given sexual attraction for a reason - some for the purpose of marriage and new life - and some for directing that energy in similarly life-bringing vocations.

When you have the chance, maybe say a prayer for the Australian independent bishop who was stabbed earlier today, along with his attacker. May Jacques Hamel and Thomas Becket pray as well.

God of Love, we lift up Palestine and [its Israeli-occupied territories]—its people, its land, its creatures. War is a monster that consumes everything in its path. Peace is a gift shared at meals of memory with Christians, Muslims, and Jews. Let us burn incense, not children. Let us break bread, not bodies. Let us plant olive groves, not cemeteries. We beg for love and compassion to prevail on all your holy mountains.

“Don’t omit your visits to the blessed sacrament. After saying your usual prayer tell Jesus, really present in the tabernacle, about the cares and worries of your day. And he will give you light and courage for your life as a Christian.”

The Lamb That Conquered The World.
I finally finished this digital painting. boy did it take a long time to finish (took many months). probably the most complex digital painting I have done so far, hope it turns out well.
(Fun fact: everything you see in the foreground are symbolic of biblical stories involving Jesus, have a guess which item symbolises which story)

When I feed the hungry, they call me a saint. When I ask why people are hungry, they call me a Communist.
