Going for something cute that has the ability to look normal among mid to upper class civilians in case she needs to mingle with nobles, but just a bit more militaristic and practical for fighting! Thinking of doing a layer by layer breakdown for her outfit as well

I couldn't take that last scene in the 3rd DC movie seriously the man casually took out a billion doves and then T-posed 😭

This isn't what happened in the movie but the thought of these two trying to have a conversation with the billion doves talking in the background was funny to me.

the reason i do my art like this actually stemmed from the fact i used to do black and white comics in photoshop. I at one point moved over to medibang so i could work off of my home desktop and not just my school given laptop that had photo shop installed for a class, this was in like 2018.

i struggled so much with sketching my character and figuring out all of the different layers of her hair and where they would go when she moved her head that i tired blocking it out in different colors. i dont believe i have any screen shots of that progress art but i continued to do that for any characters on a background for a while. i stopped for a bit until i landed upon my current style where i use the line tool and the colored lineart so prominently defines the figures and layers that i went back to it. its not as obvious with the kaitou art bc he wears mostly the same color; white. but on this image for example:

i feel it has more of an impact!

The Koi Skater piece was one of the first ones i did in this blocky style, but not THE first that honor goes to:

This was a piece i did in clip studio to "remix" a work i had done the year before in a different art program, giving it a vibe that i felt fit the current times (2020) much better than the previous one, which felt childish in comparison.

From there i tried out converting images into more sharp simplified art, heres a piece i did of GoodTimesWithScar's cat Jellie back in 2021!

I chickened out of posting it at the time, twitter intimidated me and then the whole Elon thing happened putting me off of it entirely.

Getting into the Hermitcraft series actually inspired the work that affected my use of color the most; I made some fanart of some minecraft skins i made inspired by the Third Life series!

I wanted it to feel like as the 'series' (my friends and i were going to attempt a knock off smp but it fell through bc of scheduling) as the progression from green to red happened there was also a transition of brightening the saturation, color wise and metaphorically on my characters rage and emotions! it inspired me to be a lot more bold with my color pallets moving forward, which i think is awesome!

Anyways sorry for the long rambley post about my art process, was staring at my current strawberry shortcake piece (currently in neon hell) and wanted to share the side of my art not as many people see unless your in a specific discord group chat, and that turned into me trying to explain how my style started!

heres an example, i posted that kaito kid piece a day or so ago but most of the time i was making the lines it looked like this:

this was i belive actually the sketch right before i fixed the shoes, here below is peak neon line hell phase when i had pretty much completed most of the lines sans i think his epualettes/cape clapses and tie.

you can see i have a few things to correct here in this stage like this shoes on the leg bending up being behind the other pant leg when it should be in front.

anyways heres the progress pic of the piece once i change all the colors around and fill in the layers correctly

vibe change immediate. obvs i havent finished the shadows and such but the stark difference in aesthetic from the majority of the time im working vs the image i have in my head that im working on always makes me feel giggly.
