Happiness In The Darkest Of Hours━ A George Weasley x OC Story
Chapter 8
They pushed the door open, and Harry dropped the Cloak from around his shoulders, running to the mirror. It was tall, almost as high as the ceiling, with an ornate gold frame, standing on two clawed feet. There was an inscription carved around the top: Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi.
There they were. His mother and father beamed at the sight of him. Hope stood slightly behind them, hesitantly, as the two boys rushed up to the mirror. A worry started creeping in as she thought maybe she wouldn't see her mother.
"See?" Harry whispered, excitedly.
"I can't see anything," Ron muttered, squinting his eyes as if that would make the Potters suddenly appear.
"Look! Look at them all... there are loads of them..." Harry insisted.
"I can only see you," Ron said, shrugging.
"Look in it properly, go on, stand where I am," Harry stepped aside, gently pushing Ron to stand in front of the mirror. Harry blinked as, once he moved, he couldn't see his family anymore, just Ron in his paisley pajamas. Ron, though, was staring transfixed at his image.
"Look at me!" Ron exclaimed.
"Can you see all your family standing around you?" Harry asked.
"No—I'm alone—but I'm different. I look older—and I'm Head Boy!" Ron smiled.
"What?" Harry said, furrowing his brows. Hope watched from behind curiously. What exactly was this mirror? She thought.
"I am—I'm wearing the badge like Bill used to—and I'm holding the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup—I'm Quidditch captain, too!" Ron said, looking at the mirror in awe. He tore his eyes away from this splendid sight to look excitedly at Harry.
"Do you think this mirror shows the future?" Ron asked, brightly.
"How can it? All my family are dead," Harry frowned. He then turned to Hope, ushering her forward. "What do you see?" he asked.
Hope gulped, slowly stepping forward. After what Ron had seen, her hopes of seeing her mother had sunk even further. With a deep breath, she stood in front of the mirror. Her eyes widened as her mouth parted. "Mum?" she whispered, her voice shaking. She glanced behind her to see nothing there. She looked back at the mirror. There stood a woman with striking blue-green eyes that crinkled slightly at the corners as she smiled down at Hope. Silky dark brown hair flowed to her shoulders in waves, and she stood a few inches taller than Hope with a bright smile, much like her own. She was beautiful.
"Do you see your parents?" Harry asked.
Hope nodded, not looking away from the mirror. It wasn't just her mum. Standing right next to her was her father, but he was different. His eyes still shone with their usual kindness, but they lacked their usual tiredness. His robes weren't tattered. He stood tall, shoulders free of the exhaustion that had once slumped them. The scars on his face were gone, and then it hit her. This version of her father wasn't a werewolf.
"Let me have another look," Harry said, stepping forward.
"You had it to yourself all last night. Give me another go," Ron insisted, also stepping forward.
"You're only holding the Quidditch Cup. What's interesting about that? I want to see my mum," Hope argued, not wanting to move.
"Don't push me," Ron said to Harry as all three tried to claim the spot.
A sudden noise outside in the corridor put an end to their discussion. They hadn't realized how loudly they had been talking.
"Quick!" Ron threw the Cloak back over them as the luminous eyes of Mrs. Norris came around the door. Ron, Hope, and Harry stood still, all thinking the same thing—did the Cloak work on cats? After what seemed like an age, she turned and left.
"This isn't safe. She might have gone for Filch. I bet she heard us. Come on," Ron said, pulling Harry and Hope out of the room.

You Drive Me Crazy ━ A Sam Evans x OC Story
Chapter 17
So far, Melanie wasn't having any luck finding a duet partner. She had asked Mercedes, who told her she was already singing with Santana. She then asked Artie, who informed her he would be doing the duet with Brittany, who was now his girlfriend—a piece of new information to her. And obviously, the two couples, Rachel and Finn, and Mike and Tina, would be doing the duet together.
Melanie was now on a mission to find Quinn and ask her to be her duet partner when she halted, gasping at the scene ahead of her. Karofsky and Azimio threw a slushie in Sam's face.
"Boom!" Karofsky shouted.
"Welcome to glee club, lady lips," Azimio taunted, laughing as they walked down the hall.
Melanie rushed over to Sam, not knowing what to say. Without hesitation, she quickly led him to the girls' bathroom and began helping him wash the slushie off his face.
"Uhm, you know, it's not so bad after the first time... you get used to it," she started, trying to ease the tension.
Sam nodded solemnly, wiping his face.
"And at least you got red. The blueberry flavor is the worst, especially if it gets down your pants. I looked like a creature out of Avatar down there when I last got slushied."
Sam looked at her with a smile. "I saw Avatar like six times," he said.
She smiled back, her heart skipping a beat as she wiped his cheeks. "Damn, you've got my four beat," she said with a laugh. She moved to get the slushie out of his hair, gently running her fingers through the tousled blond locks. She couldn't deny how much she enjoyed it, the softness of his hair against her fingers. She should have stopped, but something kept her there, fingers lingering, savoring the closeness between them.
His eyes locking onto hers—those chocolatey brown eyes that radiated warmth and kindness. They were the kind of eyes you could get lost in, the kind that made the world feel softer, gentler, "Lo menori." He whispered.
She froze for a moment, just now realizing how close they were—so close she could feel his breath on her skin. A deep shade of red settled on her cheeks. "It means you have pretty eyes... It's Na'vi," he began to explain.
She nodded, already knowing. "Oe na nga lrrtok," she replied softly, as she looked into his eyes.
His eyes lit up in surprise. "It means—" she began, but he interrupted her with a soft smile.
"I like your smile," he finished for her. "You speak Na'vi?" he asked, astonishment and admiration clear in his voice.
"I did see it four times," she reminded him quietly, her gaze flickering down to his lips. Puck had made fun of them before, but she thought they suited him perfectly, and they looked oh so kissable.
"You're amazing," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
Their faces were just inches apart now, her hand still tangled in his wet hair. His eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips, and he began to lean down. She wanted to kiss him—God, did she want to kiss him. But then, the self-doubt crept in. What if she was bad at it? Who was she kidding she'd never kissed a boy before, of course she would be bad at it. What if he felt nothing? What if it ruined their budding friendship?
She felt his breath fanning against her lips, and it took every ounce of self-restraint she had to pull away. "Uhm, you should be all good now," she said awkwardly, taking a step back.
He nodded, disappointment evident on his face as he nervously put his hands in his pockets. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have—"
"No, no, you're fine. Everything's totally fine," she rushed, avoiding eye contact. "...I should go," she said, pointing toward the door behind them.
"Yeah, yeah, thanks for the help," he said softly.
She nodded and turned to leave. As soon as she faced the opposite direction, her face fell, and she groaned internally. 'Why am I like this?' she thought.
