I'm just about ready to continue writing. Listened to a few songs to get me in the right mood, aka touched and almost crying which is just where I need to be right now. First it was Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran, and now this.

I can't properly put into words just how much I love this movie and how much it means to me. To put it in simpler terms the answer is.. a lot. I've been listening to Nobody Else But You quite a bit these past few days. I always, and I mean always, sing Max's parts. I get so into it, too. "Still whatever mess I land in, who is always understanding? Nobody else but you" That's got to be my favorite part.

Max Goof in Kingdom Hearts when?

I did write that family-focused Goofy Movie fic I talked about last night. I honestly thought I'd completed it already, but my brain just thought of a wholesome follow up scene, so it looks like I'll be truly finishing things up tonight. I can't wait.

This is playing in the background as I'm working on another Goofy Movie fic tonight. Max, Goofy and Bradley are all a central part of it. This one is quite obviously centered around the theme of family. Some typical Goof shenanigans are sure to ensue, but there's also place for some feelings of hurt as Max struggles with something.

Random sketches I found by accident while looking for clean paper to draw on in my sketchbook.

These are probably from 2020-2021, if I were to hazard a guess. I have this awful tendency to doodle something, immediately decide I hate it, and then hide it away somewhere, never to be seen again. 🫣 Especially my Timon sketches. I have this weird complex about needing to get him just right, and they are NEVER good enough in my eyes. But then I look back at these, and I’m like—ya know what, these aren’t that bad?! 🥲

What do you want me to do, dress in drag and do the hula?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but designs in animation are optimized to be recognizable and easy to animate continuously, neither of which are things your oc needs to be.

Go crazy, give it 7 hair colors, use eye shapes that aren't seen in any of the characters, add that hooked nose that you have no reference for in the canon style, add clothes, add a belt, pierce that dog's ears, use 13 colors on that cutie mark, give them 4C coils even when the canon black characters barely have waves.

Go crazy. Have fun. Don't restrict yourself to the simplicity of canon designs! There's a reason so many characters get redesigns in fanart, or get significantly more complex in it. No one will clown you for stepping out of the animator guides, and whoever does is a fucking moron. I'm sorry but it's true.

Stop losing chances to draw over the anxiety of sticking to canon! ♡

And yes, that includes Mary Sues.

Oh, the joys of being a fanfiction writer and of having the means of putting my favorite characters through some shit. I'm sorry, Powerline. You absolutely don't deserve this, but the idea hit me like a bag of bricks after I watched one video titled "The Darkest Moments Caught on Camera" so I'm afraid I have to do it.
