We are super thrilled to announce that we are flying out to film one of our favorite animators, Glen Keane, to be in Pencil Test!  Glen was a character animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios for films including “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin”, “Pocahontas”, “Tarzan” and “Tangled. Keane received the 1992 Annie Award for character animation, the 2007 Winsor McCay Award for lifetime contribution to the field of animation and in 2013 was named a Disney Legend. Glen also directed “Dear Basketball”, an animated short film based on Kobe Bryant’s retirement poem in The Players’ Tribune. Glen and Kobe won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 90th Academy Awards for Dear Basketball. He is also directing the new Sony Pictures Imageworks animated film “Over the Moon!” We can’t wait to talk to Glen more about 2D animation! I’m going to just put this here, and I’m going to try not to Goof this up! (a -hyuck) We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Jason Marsden @jasonmarsden is going to be featured in Pencil Test! Jason (AKA Mars) has been in so many things we have all grown up watching, such as “Boy Meets World”, “Full House”, “White Squall”, “Mr. Saturday Night”, “Fun with Dick and Jane”, (catch a breath), “Step by Step”, and so many more! But something really special about Mars is that he’s not just a fan of animation, but a really amazing voice actor for animated characters we all grew up watching/hearing! I think everyone can freakout together when we say, Mars was the voice of Max from “A Goofy Movie,” but he’s been in hundreds of our favorite animated cartoons! Hey, guess what? We are stoked that Alex Hirsch will be in Pencil Test!!! Alex is an American writer, animator, voice actor, and producer. He created the Disney Channel/Disney XD animated television series Gravity Falls! He was also the voices of Grunkle Stan, Soos, and Bill Cipher, and others. He also earned BAFTA and Annie Awards for the series. In 2016, Hirsch co-authored Gravity Falls: Journal 3 which appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list for nearly a year.  If you don’t follow him already, please do!

Happy Friday! We have another special announcement! We are incredibly honored to have Aaron Blaise be apart of Pencil Test! Aaron spent 21 years helping to create some of the greatest animated films ever made. During his time at Disney he worked as an animator or supervising animator on “The Rescuers Down Under”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin”, “The Lion King”, “Pocahontas” and “Mulan”. In 2003 he was co-director of “Brother Bear” for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
