It has been one month since I started taking S’moo to help with my PCOS symptoms. Here are some updates:
I haven’t been able to lose any weight as of yet.
I have a lot more energy and haven’t taken a day time nap since i started using it (which is so different for me).
My mood has gotten much lighter and I’m not really quick to anger as much as I was before.
After a night of drinking, where before would trigger a migraine, I have not had a headache in a month which has been my favorite change since starting S’moo. This was one I was not expecting at all.
S’moo states that it takes 1-3 months for the supplements to be truly doing work in your system so I’ll be back in another month to share any changes I have seen.

Wow, what a crazy few months it has been. I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile..
I tried the Keto diet so I can lose weight in a quick way. I didn’t lose anything at all. I had cut back, drank only water, and no snacking. Nothing. Turns out, I have PCOS. And PCOS causes insulin resistance, making weight loss extremely difficult. I’ve been pretty down and out since the diagnosis as it 1) explained all of my behaviors from childhood til now and 2) losing weight and feeling accepting of myself was going to take a long time.
My doctors recommended birth control, to relieve me of some of my symptoms. At first everything was fine, mood changes here and there were getting in my way of actually going outside to live my life. Small instances, but truly time wasted. After starting the birth control for 2 months, I gained 15-17 pounds. I was devastated. I had to make a big change and fast.
I started looking at supplements that help women with their PCOS symptoms. I found a few but some are so expensive it almost destroyed my morale. I found one called S’moo. You got a lot more doses for way less money. So why not? I’ve been taking them for a week now and truly no real change will come for another couple of months BUT I can tell my appetite has been curbed tremendously! My weight seems to be slowly winding down but I am giving it much more time before feeling victorious or defeated.
I found it extremely difficult to go through this and am lucky enough to have a supportive family.

Day 11 Update KETO:
I am super happy to say that my ketosis is kicking in! I have lost 5 pounds since this journey has started! I used to weight myself every day, but then I gave it a break for a few days and BAM! 5 pounds down!
This morning, My husband made omelette soufflés with spinach, ricotta, and mushrooms. It was delicious! We also had some bacon and sausage on the side. Once you start seeing results the motivation only gets stronger.
I’d love to hear any tips that may have helped any of you reading this on your journey to lose weight.

KETO 8.2 Update:
This morning I had a small salad with some shredded cheese, green onions, and Italian dressing. I added one slice of salami too. It was a nice light meal to start the day!
Tonight, my husband is going to make pork chops with sautéed mushrooms and zucchini noodles! I’ll let you guys know tomorrow how it goes :)

KETO Day 8 Update:
Good morning! I weighed myself this morning and the ketosis has not kicked in yet. This is totally normal! I just can’t wait for the day it does :)
I would like to see if anyone has any recipes that might recommend for the keto diet? I’ll post another update later today with the food we had today.

Baked Caprese Chicken Recipe
Trim chicken breasts and slice a large pocket horizontally in the center of the breast, making sure not to cut all the way through. Season chicken all over with salt and pepper.
In a saucepan, over medium heat whisk together the balsamic, garlic and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, and cook until it has reduced by half, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 375℉. Place 1 tbsp of pesto into the pocket of each breast and spread evenly. Stuff each chicken breast with 2 halves of the mozzarella, 2 slices of tomato and 1 to 2 basil leaves. Secure with toothpicks.
In a large oven safe skillet over medium heat, thinly coat the pan with olive oil. Sear the chicken breasts until the outside is golden brown.
Bake in the oven for 8-12 minutes until the chicken’s inside temperature reaches 165℉.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve with a drizzle of the balsamic glaze and fresh basil for garnish.

Day 7 Update!
Today I made tuna fish salad on top of lettuce for my early meal. Tonight, my husband will be making burgers (no buns, of course!) with a Caesar salad as our side. Yum!
It helps to have a great cook in the house :)
No reported weight loss to report here yet, but we have to wait for the ketosis to kick in!

Hi everyone!
Day 6 update: My husband is also doing this keto diet and actually found no carbs breading! (He’s an amazing cook btw). He had boneless chicken thighs and breaded them with PORQ Artisanal Fried Pork Rinds. He also made steamed broccoli and a buffalo sauce for the chicken. All NO carbs! (I’ll probably throw some pickles on the side).
The fun thing about the keto diet is that you get to think outside of the box when it comes to snacks. Do your homework, research ingredients, and stick to it!
My husband is doing sooo great on the diet that he already have lost 10 pounds and it has been 6 days! (Keep in mind, men lose weight faster than women, so do not let this discourage you!)

Here we go..
I need a space where I can share my thoughts and share with others my weight loss journey. A lot of things led to this decision. I’ve always been bullied about my weight, friends AND family. I am also at the point where I don’t even bother putting on makeup or doing my hair, cause ‘what’s the point?’. After a recent comment made by a close family member, I decided, out of pure spite, enough is enough. I am going back on the keto diet.
I have been on keto before. In 6 weeks, I lost nearly 20 pounds. The weight loss happened right away. And to be perfectly transparent, I was 260 pounds. I felt great but my downfall was that I decided to have a “cheat day” and never stopped.
Today, I am 268 pounds. It’s scary to post that! However, I think it is a huge step in normalizing that you have a weight problem and so do others. So hopefully my updates at least provide some kind of confidence for a few people who go through what I do.
I started keto again last Tuesday. I haven’t lost much weight, maybe a couple of pounds. It is important to know that keto usually kicks in within 10-21 days. So my problem now is staying strong through this! I am staying under 15 grams of carbs a day, which I usually have maybe 5 at this point. I am totally open to keto recipes that work for everyone.
I’ll be updating maybe every day and very often. I would love for people struggling to share some ideas that work for them or need the support of other people struggling with weight loss. A community can bring a lot of positivity so I hope this reaches you!
