New place for me today and 18-45 trimix for the first time in a long time, thanks to @evolved_diving and the #xccrrebreather. This is definitely the way to do a deeper dive, especially in this economy and with the helium shortage. It was dark and spooky in there today though, especially so further down than this photo. This is from the first day here. It's too early right now to take a photo but I'm headed out and will be in Perto Aventuras for the remainder of my time in Mexico for this trip. I've really enjoyed my time here at Underworld Tulum and will definitely be back. It's a great place for cave divers to stay, with equipment rentals and maps and guides and instructors available onsite, and the owners are very nice. I will definitely be back. Please give me sure and steady footing, clear line of sight, the agility of a cat, stable legs and strong ankles, , a comfortable body temperature, some nice photo opportunities iand a fun and safe #trailhalfmarathon experience tomorrow at the #cloudlandcanyonhalf It's my first run with my Nathan Vapor Howe hydration vest, so hopefully that goes well too. I had an enjoyable race experience today at the Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Half Marathon. It was overcast and not too hot and not too cold, really pretty much perfect weather. I beat last year's time by 44 seconds, although I'm still a long way from my PR (set in 2019). Regardless, I won't complain about 1:55:15 and an 8:48 average pace when I truly enjoyed myself. 13.1 thankfuls for the 2022 Thanksgiving Half I try to remember to do this every year before the Thanksgiving Half Marathon. Sometimes I forget, but I thought of it today. I like to give myself something to think about and be thankful for during each mile (and during the 0.1 finish.) 1. I'm healthy. 2. I have a job that I really enjoy doing and I work for a company full of people I really like. 3. I have someone whom I care about, who makes me happy and who I enjoy spending time with. 4. Despite her condition, my Mom is without pain and is in good spirits. 5. I am able to run and workout; my level of fitness is fairly good and I am mobile. 6. I've been able to go cave diving regularly again, finally. 7. My quality of life, in general, is decent. 8. For the most part, I'm not struggling terribly financially. I've come a long way from rock bottom. 9. I'm completely sober and clean and have zero interest in being otherwise, ever. 10. I'm getting along with my siblings. 11. I have a lot of friends who care about me, even though we don't see each other much. 12. My dreaming experience is rich with story. I have a strong awareness of emotion and spirit. 13. My mind is sharp and I am able to constantly continue learning. 13.1 I'm alive! We managed to get a couple smiles from #Mom. Paul said that this was the most alert she had been in a week or more. Regardless, these photos don't capture what it was really like. It was hard. She is very weak. Most of the time I was there I was just talking to Paul. She doesn't stay awake. She doesn't speak other than a rare and stained word or two and can't move at all on her own, not even upper body. She told me she loves me very much. I hid my tears with my head on her chest. That said, there really aren't any disease processes going on and she doesn't seem to be in pain. I think we may still have some time. I will see her again in person after Cloudland Canyon Half Marathon, on December 3. I figured out what was going on with the Alexa Echo. It was an issue with my phone, not with the device; it works fine from my Kindle. So meanwhile I can drop in to say hi to her with video.
