Eyes Everywhere
previous / ch. 2 / next
As your eyes flutter open, the soft light filtering through the classroom window warms your face. You stretch your arms above your head, letting out a long yawn that echoes softly in the quiet room. Slowly lifting your head from the desk, you take a moment to gather your thoughts, realizing that you’ve dozed off while the teacher was explaining something you can’t quite recall.
Scanning the classroom, your gaze locks on your classmate, Nishinoya Yuu. He’s sitting a few rows over, a teasing grin spreading across his face as he catches your eye. His playful demeanor seems to brighten the otherwise mundane atmosphere, and a small smile creeps onto your lips in response.
He lifts his phone and gestures for you to check yours. Curiosity piqued, you pull out your device, and it buzzes with a new message. The screen lights up, revealing a text from a mutual friend: “Have a good nap?” You let out a light chuckle at the reminder of your unexpected doze, and with a quick tap, you text back, “Haha, yes!”
However, as the laughter fades, a pang of sadness washes over you, tugging at your heart. The dream you’d just woken from lingers in your mind, bittersweet and nostalgic. You can’t shake the feeling that it held significance—a reminder of an old friend, someone who’s been part of so many cherished memories yet remains just out of reach in your mind
. As the bell rings, the sound reverberates through the halls, pulling you back into the present. The noise of bustling students fills the air as you step out into the crowded hallway, which seems to part for you as you make your way to the gym. It’s time for volleyball practice. While you’re not on the team, you’ve always enjoyed being there to support your friends.
Upon entering the gym, the sharp whistles of the coach cut through the chatter, creating a symphony of sounds that bounced off the walls. You find a seat in the stands, pulling out a well-worn notebook and a textbook, hoping to catch up on some studying while you wait.
The rhythmic sounds of volleyballs being spiked and players communicating meld into a comforting background noise. When practice concludes, Coach Tadeka strides in, a sheen of sweat glistening on his forehead as he brings an air of excitement with him.
“We managed to secure a practice match with Aoba Johsai!” His announcement sends a ripple of chatter through the team, and you feel a rush of enthusiasm at the news. Curiosity takes hold, and you make your way down to the court, excitement bubbling within you.
“Do you guys have room for me to come along also?” you ask, tilting your head slightly, a small smile playing on your lips. The team practically echoes your inquiry. “Yes, of course, [name], we always have room for our number one supporter!” Tanaka barks out with hearty laughter, his infectious energy lifting your spirits even higher.
While you laugh and nod in agreement, Sugawara places a reassuring hand on your shoulder, his expression sincere. “We would never turn you down!” he exclaims, making you feel valued and right at home amidst your friends.

Eyes Everywhere
previous / ch.1 / next
Twenty years ago, in a small clearing in a park, the darkness of the night surrounding her, a girl knelt at the foot of a small, intricately carved shrine dedicated to a goddess known for her kindness. With trembling hands clasped together and her heart pounding in her chest, she poured out her soul in prayer, pleading for help in the face of relentless bullying.
The wind whispered through the trees, but no divine response came, leaving her feeling more isolated than ever. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she made the long walk home, her spirit crushed beneath the weight of her sorrow.
The following day felt like a repeat of the last. As she entered the classroom, her gaze fell to the floor, wishing she could disappear. Laughter erupted around her, and fingers pointed in her direction, amplifying the sting of humiliation. Just then, a light seemed to break through the cloud of negativity. You walked in, confident and radiant, instantly drawing the attention of her classmates away from her.
You introduced yourself, your voice warm and angelic, as you settled into the only empty seat beside her. Though she kept her head bowed, a glimmer of recognition flickered in her eyes as your presence created a protective bubble around her. Your gaze shifted effortlessly between her and the teacher at the front, offering a brief respite from the onslaught of jibes directed her way.
At lunchtime, the atmosphere shifted again. As she nervously unpacked her lunch, a classmate carelessly shoved her aside, sending her bento tumbling to the ground. The familiar ache of embarrassment surged within her. But before she could fully retreat into herself, you appeared at her side. Your demeanor was calm and reassuring as you bent down to help her gather her scattered food.
“Let’s get this sorted,” you said, your voice steady and kind. You guided her to an empty table, where she felt a small sense of relief as you sat beside her. During lunch, you introduced yourself more formally, filling the space with light-hearted conversation. Your laughter filled the air, warming her heart.
When it was her turn to share her name, she shyly blurted, “I’m Samara.” She quickly added, almost apologetically, “Like the girl from *The Ring*.” You raised an eyebrow in playful surprise, then complimented the name, declaring it was cute. A soft blush crept onto her cheeks as she allowed a shy smile to emerge, still keeping her gaze focused on the table. After finishing your meals, you mustered the courage to ask if you could walk home together, noting that your paths aligned.
Her heart leaped at the thought, and she nodded enthusiastically, grateful for the companionship. As you walked side by side, exchanging stories, laughs, and bits of your lives, the world around you seemed to brighten. When she invited you over to her house to continue chatting, her voice barely above a whisper, your heart raced with excitement, and you readily accepted.
Before heading next door, you swung by your place to change into comfy clothes, a small ritual that set the stage for the easygoing afternoon ahead. Knocking on her door, you felt a thrill of anticipation. When she answered, a touch of surprise flitted across her face, quickly replaced by warmth as she welcomed you inside.
Together, you made your way down the cozy hall to her room, where hours slipped away unnoticed. Laughter echoed off the walls as you two shared stories, each moment deepening the bond forming between you. Eventually, the laughter softened into a comfortable silence, the air filled with unspoken admiration.
Samara turned to you, her eyes wide with a mix of awe and vulnerability. “You’re so perfect. Why do you like me?” The question hung between you, a delicate thread of sincerity. Your laughter quieted, but a gentle smile lingered as you reached across to grasp her hand, your touch reassuring and warm. “Because you’re perfect too,” you replied softly.
“You have been nothing but nice to me on my first day.” The sincerity of your words enveloped her like a soft embrace, and for the first time, her heart swelled with the belief that perhaps, just perhaps, she was worthy of kindness and affection.
Blushing deeply, she realized that no one had ever called her perfect before, and in that moment, her world brightened just a little more.

Eye's Everywhere
Prologue / Next
The air in Oikawa's lavish plaza apartment was undeniably warm, almost too warm for comfort. He sat confidently on the edge of his bed, a box of old high school photos beside him, flipping through the memories with ease. Every now and then, he snapped pictures of these nostalgic moments and sent them to the “Aoba Johsai High Volleyball” group chat.
His phone buzzed almost incessantly with messages and reactions from his former teammates, and a quiet laugh escaped him as he paused on a photo featuring him, surrounded by Iwaizumi and Matsukawa. With a determined glance at his phone, he opened the camera app, ready to share another gem with the chat, but something about this particular picture snagged his attention.
He scanned the photo again, assessing the details, and ultimately decided to capture the moment and send it off. As the photo zipped through the chat, reactions flooded in, celebrating the nostalgia. Just as Oikawa was about to put his phone down, a new message popped up: "Is that [name]?????"
The question ignited an avalanche of inquiries within the group. That was the crux of the confusion—there you were, someone the team had encountered at a training camp during the captain’s third year, but it felt strange. You kept appearing in their lives, showing up unexpectedly. There was that memorable day a few months later after a match when the team stopped at a gas station for snacks.
You struck up conversations with several members, including Kindaichi and Kunimi, who were clearly drawn in by your passion for volleyball and laid-back humor.Since then, you have occasionally hung out with the group and even joined in on some volleyball games. However, Kindaichi's comment rang true: you didn’t belong in that photo.
As Oikawa reflected on the moment it was taken, he struggled to recall who else was present, but he was certain you weren't supposed to be there. It had been after practice, everyone dripping with sweat yet bubbling with joy. He distinctly remembered that you didn’t attend Aoba Johsai, but he couldn't even remember what school you'd even gone to.
Meanwhile, across the city, you rolled over in your bed, clearly awoken from a restful sleep.

Talk Too Much
Hello?
Previous / Ch. 6 / Next
As the days flew by, an exhilarating anticipation bubbled within Y/n. They had essentially thrown caution to the wind all because some random person expressed how lonely they'd feel without them. Who steps out of their comfort zone like that just to keep someone from feeling down? Just as the weight of this realization hit, Y/n shot upright, adrenaline coursing through their veins as they dashed to check the mail. This could be the moment that changed everything—perhaps they really had made it into the prestigious school!
Before they even had the opportunity to sit up, their [parental figure] knocked and strode in, holding a package that set Y/n's heart racing. With a spark of gratitude, Y/n tore open the package, revealing a dazzling holographic device with a bright button in the center. Pressing it, the legendary All Might, the number one hero, erupted into view like a thunderclap.
"CONGRATULATIONS, YOUNG STUDENT! I AM HERE TO DELIVER THE GREAT NEWS OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE! PLEASE PRINT OUT THE DOCUMENTS SENT TO YOUR EMAIL—WE CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU AND UNLEASH YOUR AMAZING POTENTIAL!" All Might's booming voice reverberated through the room, sending shivers of joy through Y/n. Had they truly been accepted?
Unbelievable! This dream that had always lingered in the back of their mind was now a blazing reality. In a flash, they teleported to their computer, heart pounding, as they frantically opened their email, skimming through the congratulatory message from U.A. school staff and the principal.
Time slipped away as Y/n lost themselves in the thrilling news, but a glance at the clock sent a jolt of panic through them. They had only 10 minutes to get to work, and they were far from ready! With a snap of energy, they teleported around their room, pulling on their uniform in a whirlwind.
They arrived just in the nick of time—only a minute to spare before clocking in! Apron secured around their waist, Y/n rushed to the computer to clock in, a surge of adrenaline still pumping through them. The familiar jingle of the doorbell caught their attention, and they looked up just in time to see an older boy step inside. Washing their hands quickly, Y/n made their way to the register.
"Hello! Welcome! What can we get started for you today?" A bright smile lit up their face as they faced the boy, who looked almost ghost-like with his frail frame and light blue hair that seemed to have a mind of its own.
The boy hesitated, clearing his throat nervously, "Umm, maybe a medium black coffee?" His voice trembled slightly, scanning the cafĂŠ as if something unknown loomed over him. "A medium black, of course. Anything else, or is that all?"
"Medium black is all! Are you—" The boy suddenly erupted into a loud, scratchy outburst that sent a shock through Y/n. "Woah, okay! Just making sure… Your total is 436.54 yen…" They couldn't contain a bewildered look, finishing the order while the boy fumbled with crumpled bills from his pockets.
"I have your medium black coffee ready!" Y/n shouted, their voice ringing out through the lively cafĂŠ. They barely set the cup down before the boy snatched it up. "Have a great day, sir!" Y/n said with a small bow, but he grumbled in response, brushing it off with a huff. Just what was up with that guy?
Shaking off the encounter, Y/n called out, "Next customer!" making sure to project their voice to everyone in line. This time, a couple of customers approached, and as Y/n took in the fiery red figure in front of them, their heart skipped a beat. It was none other than No.2 Pro Hero, Endeavor, standing there with one of his sons!
"I would like a black coffee, no sugar or cream. My son, Shoto, here would like the same, with one sugar," Endeavor said effortlessly, already retrieving a sleek black card from his impeccably organized wallet.
"Absolutely! That'll be 874.03 yen. If you'll just pay when it's ready, please!" Glancing at their watch, Y/n realized they had a few more hours of their shift remaining. That kind of brought their enthusiasm down. Zoning back into reality as Endeavor completed the transaction, Y/n couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement coming back from being so close to a hero. "Here’s your receipt, and we'll call out your drinks when they're ready!"
Finally back home after a whirlwind of a day, Y/n kicked off their work uniform and collapsed onto their bed, the thrill of the day flooding their mind as they began doom-scrolling through their phone. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and they drifted into a deep sleep, dreaming of the extraordinary future that awaited them.

I Don't Care
Previous / Ch. 5 / Next
After the thrilling "assembly," the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as the eager future students dashed to the arena, their fighting gear on and adrenaline pumping.
With a printed slip of paper clutched in hand, y/n made their way toward the arena, eyes darting around in excitement. As they stretched their arm across their chest, a sudden tap on their shoulder jolted them. Heart racing, y/n turned around, half-expecting to see Katsuki looming over them. Instead, they were greeted by the electric blonde from earlier. “Hey, thanks for saving me back there! You really didn’t have to,” he said with a grin.
“Oh, it was no big deal! We go to the same school; I couldn’t just stand by and watch you get destroyed! Same goes for Kirishima—” Before y/n could finish, a voice chimed in from behind them, “—What about me?” It was getting a little eerie how often this guy showed up unannounced!
“Oh hey man! I was just telling them that without them here, we’d have been toast,” the bright blonde explained to Kirishima. “I see, I see! Thanks a lot, y/n! I’m Kirishima, by the way,” he said, extending a hand, and y/n replied, “And I’m y/n.”
“Yo, I’m Denki Kaminari!” he introduced, and the trio exchanged slight bows, showing respect and camaraderie.
Suddenly, a deafening buzzer blared, accompanied by an equally loud voice echoing through the arena. “HELLO, FELLOW STUDENTS, AND WELCOME TO U.A.! HERE'S HOW THE POINT SYSTEM WORKS: YOU HAVE 10 MINUTES TO ELIMINATE VARIOUS VILLAIN BOTS, AND QUIRKS ARE ENCOURAGED. NOW, GET READY TO FIGHT!!!” With that, the eager students surged through the gates, ready to face off against towering robots of all shapes and sizes.
Bursting into the vast arena, the battle commenced! y/n poured every ounce of energy into the fight, racking up points and staying just shy of the target. But then, a commotion caught their eye. The brunette girl from earlier was pinned beneath a vanquished villain-bot, and Deku was sprinting toward her, shouting something that sounded like a battle cry. Frozen in awe, y/n watched as Deku’s arm glowed and a strange green aura enveloped him. With an explosive punch, he freed the girl from the wreckage!
Just then, y/n was yanked from their amazement when the ground trembled violently behind them. They turned, wide-eyed, to face a high-point villain robot towering above. In a split-second decision, they teleported inside the robot, swiftly disabling it and making it crash to the ground. Teleporting back out just in time, they found themselves standing amid a chaotic battlefield as the timer ticked down.
“ALRIGHT, TIME’S UP! CONGRATULATIONS! PLEASE RETURN TO THE GATES TO CHANGE BACK INTO YOUR NORMAL CLOTHING! DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR INFORMATION AT THE DESKS BEFORE LEAVING. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!” The booming voice echoed across the arena, mixing with the heavy breathing of exhausted students. As they made their way out, everyone cast hopeful glances over their shoulders, filled with excitement and anxiety—had they scored enough points to earn a spot at the prestigious school?

Take A Slice
Previous / Ch. 4 / Next
Finally, the day of the entrance exam arrived, and y/n woke up feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. They got ready for the big day, slipping into their middle school uniform and printing out their ticket to enter U.A.
Before heading out, y/n decided to grab breakfast at the cafĂŠ where they worked. It was convenient since they could use their quirk to teleport there and get a tasty, affordable meal thanks to their employee discount.
After enjoying a quick bite, y/n teleported to the gates of what they hoped would soon be their future school. As they looked around, they spotted Deku chatting with a girl who had a cute bob hairstyle, a blush evident on his cheeks. Y/n couldn’t help but chuckle to themselves; it was nice to see him excited!
Taking a moment to soak in the atmosphere, y/n observed a variety of students around them—some showcasing their quirks, others grouped in clusters, all of them buzzing with energy that was a mix of excitement and nerves.
Just then, someone with vibrant red hair approached y/n, beaming from ear to ear. "Hey! I can’t believe you actually showed up! I thought I wouldn’t see you again after our chat at the coffee shop!" The boy rubbed the back of his neck, a bit shy but clearly thrilled.
“Oh, hey! Ummm, Kirishima, right? I almost didn’t recognize you! That red looks awesome on you. Your encouragement definitely helped me decide to come! When a cool guy like you thinks it’s a good idea, how could I not?” y/n replied, smiling back. Kirishima's face lit up at their recognition.
"Awesome! I switched things up with my hair color for today; it’s my favorite hero’s color too, which is a bonus! I’m glad to see a friendly face here since I only really know a couple of people from middle school," he said, lightly touching the tips of his spiky hair, a hint of pink on his cheeks.
Suddenly, a loud shout from nearby caught their attention, and they turned to see an energetic ash-blonde with spiky hair arguing with another blonde who sported a lightning bolt in his hair. Kirishima and y/n exchanged amused glances and walked over to check out what was happening.
y/n instinctively stuffed their hands into their pockets as they approached the scene, rolling their eyes in mild frustration. “Hey, Bakugo! What's up? What’s going on here?” y/n asked, trying to diffuse the tension.
With a glare, Bakugo shot back, “This damn extra bumped into me and made me drop my phone! Look at the cracked screen!”
"Got it, but maybe if you had been paying attention, you could've avoided him," Kirishima chimed in, earning wide eyes from both the other heroes-in-training.
y/n quickly jumped in, waving their hands amicably. "What Kirishima means is that both sides should’ve been a little more aware. If he ran into you, he should’ve been watching where he was going too!"
A nervous sweat trickled down y/n's face as they hoped their attempt at diplomacy would work. Bakugo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, nonchalantly replying, “Whatever, it’s still his fault!”
Just then, a voice echoed throughout the area, calling all students to the auditorium.
And with that, it was time to begin!

When will I see you again?
Previous / Ch. 3 / Next
Finally, y/n dashed into work, a wave of excitement bubbling inside them as they hurried to the break room to stash their belongings. With a quick glance around the bustling store filled with eager customers, they couldn’t help but feel thrilled about the day ahead.
As y/n made their way to the registers, a striking black-haired guy, who looked about their age, suddenly popped out from the crowd. His sharp, pointy teeth sparkled as he flashed a charming grin. "Hi there! What can I get started for you?" y/n asked enthusiastically, ready for whatever fun lay ahead.
The guy paused for a moment and then replied, "Uhh, could I just get a small latte?" His uncertainty only added to the charm of their encounter. "Absolutely! What’s a cool name for your order?" y/n chimed back, fingers ready over the register, eager to capture this delightful moment.
"Kirishima's fine," he said, flashing a friendly smile. Y/n couldn’t help but mirror that grin as they said, "Perfect, that’s gonna be ¥747.05. Will that be cash or a card?"
"Cash," Kirishima responded, pulling some money from his pocket to hand to y/n. As they took the money, y/n opened the register to give back the change.
"What middle school do you go to?" Caught off guard, Kirishima looked up from putting his change away. "I noticed your uniform, so I was just curious. I go to Aldera Junior," y/n quickly added, realizing how weird that might sound and wanting to explain a bit more.
"Oh, I see! I go to Mustafa Private Middle School, so I'm not too far from here." The timid boy’s answer brought a big smile to Y/n's face. "That’s so cool! Are you planning to try out for UA? I’m thinking about going just to see what it’s like!" At this point, y/n was rambling while preparing the latte, half talking to the boy and half caught up in their own excitement.
"I think you should! I’m going for it too! I’ll definitely see you there if you go!" Kirishima responded, giving Y/n a thumbs-up and a big grin as the finished coffee was placed in front of him. Feeling encouraged, y/n nodded back, returning his smile.
_____________________________________
A few hours later, the workday finally wrapped up, and y/n felt pretty good about one of their first shifts. Teleporting home, they made a mental note to look up what time the UA entrance exam started. With a new bounce in their step and plenty of encouragement to check out the exam, they felt more determined than ever.
Once at home, y/n sprawled out on their bed and pulled out their phone to Google the exam time. '9:30 am? That seems a bit early for something like this!' Nevertheless, y/n marked it down on their calendar and set a couple of alarms. Luckily, the exam was timed perfectly so they wouldn’t be marked "missing" for school.
Slowly, their eyes started to droop; after all, they’d just come off a 5-hour shift, and they were feeling it. Slowly getting up, y/n changed into their pajamas, crawled under comfy covers, and drifted off to sleep, a smile still lingering on their face.

Flaming Hot Cheetos
Previous / Ch. 2 / Next
As y/n sat in class, a wave of exhilaration washed over them as the school year drew to a close. Their homeroom teacher had just dropped an electrifying idea—now that they were 14, it was the perfect time to dive into summer jobs. That sparked a fire of curiosity in y/n.
Cheers erupted around the room, while a few let out playful groans at the thought. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as classmates eagerly shared where they might score a job and what splurges they’d make with their hard-earned cash. Y/n couldn’t help but join in the daydreaming, imagining all the thrilling possibilities that lay ahead.
To y/n's left, the class bully, Bakugo Katsuki, and his group of delinquent friends let out a hearty laugh at the notion. Everyone knew that Bakugo's parents were famous fashion designers, so it was amusing to think of him needing a job at all. After all, he could have anything he wanted. The contrast between the excitement in the room and Bakugo's dismissive laughter only added to the lively atmosphere. This summer promised to be unforgettable, and y/n couldn't wait to see where it would lead.
_____________________________________
Y/n made their way home, eyes wandering at the cheerful "We're Hiring!" signs brightening up the buildings around them. As they strolled, y/n spotted their favorite coffee shop was on the lookout for new hires. Excited by the thought of working there, y/n decided to pop in and grab an application.
After getting the application, they couldn’t resist the temptation and ordered their go-to drink with a bit of leftover lunch money. With their drink in hand, y/n stepped outside and, with a smile, activated their quirk to teleport themselves home.
