As a writer on tumblr--and before anyone says anything, although I don't have a lot on my account, I write in my free time (5 works and counting) I would like to say that no one should feel pressured to reblog or like a post EVEN if they've read it. Simply because a writer who enjoys writing will write... They won't write for measly tumblr clout. Half of the writers on here don't enjoy writing and that's why they are obsessed with reblogs. It's actually insane.

A lot of these 'writers' claim that writing is hard and that they NEED feedback but don't even have an original idea of their own. They recycle the same tropes and write about characters that are based on REAL people and then call it theirs. They don't do any of the heavy lifting and then beg for reblogs. Why on earth do you need a reblog to feel good and satisfied with yourself? It's sad.

Also if it's truly a strain for you to write then it's not for you. You are not the tortured writer you think you are, you just don't like writing.

As a writer ON TUMBLR (let's be real this is a social platform) you can't ask people to donate to you or to pay for the pieces you put out unless they are completely original... what do you think this is?

Kofi? why should anyone do that for you? Patreon? get real.

Please remember that you write fanfiction based around people who exist and have personalities. You're using THEIR faces to push YOUR work. Their fans owe you nothing.

If you leave this app the fandom that you write for will not crumble. People wont cry for you. I promise.

You need to remember that before bitching about the people who do care enough to like your fics.

other things i would like to address.

liked posts do contribute to the algorithm. That's literally how the For You page works. Say what you want but none of you work for tumblr so...

Don't call it 'demands' when its actually just loyal readers curious about and updates and requests that you encourage them to send

Lastly anyone assuming that I don't write nearly enough as some authors on tumblr. All of my works are private and are for ME and those who ask privately for personal fics. I don't post my writing because I don't need the validation from people on the internet. I'm content with what I do.

It was a rather interesting concept. Apparently, twin flames were two separate people forged from one soul that was split into two bodies. You told Jaemin about them during a sunset drive once and it stuck with him. He was completely convinced that you two were of the same soul, able to feel each other’s emotions at the same level.

On the flip side, that probably also meant that you were as annoying as some people (read: the Bitch Hunters) claimed Jaemin to be.

Not many people knew of this side of yours, though. Only Jaemin was the unfortunate victim of your endless complaints and whiny nature. He put up with it, though, because he knew he was probably just as bad. Plus, you were pretty entertaining.

“When did it start raining?” You mumble to yourself. Students pass you, all of them being polite and saying ‘excuse me’ despite you being in their way. Sighing, you scope out your surroundings, looking for something that could shield you from the vicious storm, but there was nothing. The desperate need to find a covering was fading and just as you were about to give up, you jolt from someone knocking their shoulder against yours.

“Get out of the way,” the person says harshly.

You jerk your head towards the stranger, preparing to give them a word of advice on how to not be a dick. However, you’re met with goofy smile that belongs to none other than Lee Donghyuck, a mutual friend of yours. You don’t know him all too well, but you ‘dated’ one of his frat brothers for a couple of months.

You push the boy playfully causing him to stumble into another student. “You’re an asshole,” you laugh.

He shrugs and straightens up until he’s standing right next to you. His long legs are hidden by gray joggers that fit him too well. You will yourself to keep your eyes from lingering below his waist.

“Are you heading to your dorm?” He asks, staring up at the gloomy sky.

“Trying to, but mother nature has other plans.”

He laughs. “Here, I’ll walk with you.”

You wanted to be polite and tell him he didn’t have to but then, he pulled an umbrella from his backpack.

The two of you walk side by side though the rain, not giving much attention to just how close you are.

“I feel like its been forever since i’ve seen you,” he starts.

“So?”

“So.. Where have you been?”

You look up, studying the umbrella he was holding over you. It was clear so you could see the rain drops falling and then rolling down the side the side of the plastic. It was mesmerizing. “Studying, working here and there. Moving on with life i guess,” you answer.

“How boring of you,” he jokes.

“Sorry I don’t fancy being passed out in a frat house bathroom anymore,”

“Wow, you’ve grown so much in a month. I’m proud of you.”

“As you should be,” You nudge his shoulder, “Im a new woman.”

He lets out a laugh and looks down at you with sparkling eyes. “I can believe it. Jeno said you finally stopped answering his calls,”

You want to roll your eyes at the mention of Jeno but you refrain. Jeno and you have a long history. The two of you had been on and off since your freshman year of college.

“Stopped answering his calls,” You scoff,“Thats a nice way of putting it i guess.”

Donghyuck raises his eyebrows.

“I didn’t stop answering. I blocked him.”

“Oh. You two are done—like for real this time?” He asks, as you cross the road

“Yeah, can’t keep crying over mediocre dick for the rest of my life.”

“Hm,”

For a second the only thing you could hear was the sound of the rain slapping the asphalt. Donghyuck wasn’t looking at you or saying anything.

“Sorry, I know he’s your friend and all.” You say to kill the awkwardness.

He shrugs. “I wouldn’t say we’re necessarily friends,”

“You wouldn’t?” You ask with a raised eyebrow. He shakes his head. “You’re full of shit.”

“I’m being serious.” He argues, “We’re fraternity brothers, sure. But you know we aren’t close like that,”

You pause and look at him. “What’s your angle, Lee Donghyuck?”

“No angle, just putting some useful information out there.”

You nod your head and let the topic dissolve into the air. As the dorms come into view, you sigh in relief and walk a little faster. Your warm and cozy bed was basically calling your name. Once you and Donghyuck make it to the front of the building, you turn towards him and start to thank him but you cut yourself off immediately.

“Your bag is soaking, dude.” You say, pulling at the wet fabric.

“Thats okay, there’s nothing important in there anyway.”

You roll your eyes at the blatant lie. “Whatever you say.”

“I’d love to bicker with you but I have to get to class.” He walks backwards from the entrance.

“You have a class? I thought you were heading home,” You say while gesturing to the direction of the fraternity house—which wasn’t too far from your dorm.

“Nah, i just wanted to walk you.”

“Well where’s your class?”

The boy smiles, before turning away from you and heading the direction you had just come from. You laugh a little and look down at your completely dry clothes before letting your attention wonder back to the figure walking away from you.

“Donghyuck!” You call out. He turns his head toward you and hums back. “Do you still have my number?”

You can see the smile etch into his face from where you’re standing, making you do the same.

“Yeah.”
