oh cyn how i love you.. i had an idea for her — so basically yadda yadda she gets her body back from the solver but it keeps trying to come back so she's gotta keep it at bay :p silly

now what i wactually wanna yap about is how stupidly infantilized cyn is!!! like yeah shes my silly little blorbo and all but she's still capable AND evil, i hate how half the fandom treats her. "oh but she's a child she's so baby!!!" she ate almost two entire planets idc if it was actually the solver she is evil and i love her for it get on my LEVEL

MD AU but Cyn shows up to the mansion only a little after J, making her Tessa's second acquaintance instead of last. She's still under the control of the solver but it's kind of like Uzi and Doll where it isn't a big problem until later [but this isn't about her].

J had been Tessa's only drone for a couple of months before finding Cyn in a similar vein she does in the show — J doesn't exactly appreciate Cyn's presence for a bit, totally not because of jealousy of course. She eventually warms up to her, however, and surprise surprise we have both Jessa AND Jyn and no one can stop me

Then N shows up, wow another drone, but this one is annoying to the point of wearing J's wires thin, yet both Tessa and Cyn love him. Tessa's constantly talking to and about him, ditches her when he's in the room, and Cyn grows attached to him as an older brother. Whatever. She can at least try to be friendly with him - it's not like he did anything to her personally. And actually, personality wise he isn't horrible. Sure she's still mean to him but she can stand being in the same room.

Finally comes along V, who's virtually a better version of J in every way ; more polite, quicker to do things, broader personality, miraculously precise given her poor vision. Everyone loved her, not to mention the obvious crush both she and N had on eachother. Cyn — slowly growing more detached due to the solver's corruption — seemed to find V amusing for one reason or another.

J feels lonely. Yeah, Tessa and Cyn both regularly talk to her, but she feels more like a past-time now. Someone to talk to when the others are busy. She digs herself into her work to ignore everything around her. Cyn, of course, recognizes this, weaponizes it. At night they would talk. Usually J would dislike this, as it cuts into her charging time, but Cyn was marginally worth it. Defenses worn down, Cyn started to regularly hit where it hurt most ; N and V don't need her, the company will soon use her for scraps, she's only been here for so long because Tessa wanted her to be, and that would no longer hold true soon.

But Cyn will always be there for her. She won't let her be thrown out. Well, so long as J listen. Which really isn't all that hard for her, it's all she's known anyways.

Cut to the Gala, everything after. J remembers everything. She's got one hell of a repression barrier similar to N's, but nothing is being stopped by Cyn. J remembers *everything*. She hides behind said repression, mountains of denial. She can barely look at her squadmates, they remind her of too much. Even if they're a shell of their former selves. Meeting Cyn after death was much worse, despite all of her attempts to make herself believe that it was actually Tessa.

The last fight was most brutal, J finally seeing what remains of both Tessa and Cyn. The two she loved so dearly. Both were gone, but there was no going back now, she'd protect the both of them even in death.

She fails, of course, J never wins. Serial Designation J never gets a happy ending. Hell, she doesn't even get to say "I love you."
