There are a lot of ways to make a recommendation. Sometimes it’s based on what’s popular. Other times, one podcast will lead others created by the same people or in the same network. They could be in the same genre. They could have the same storytelling style. Or the recommendation could be based on something more nuanced that maybe you can’t quite put your finger on.

This blog seeks to pull out some of those nuances and make them explicit.

So how does it work?

Each podcast gets its own post with a description and a link to the website. There’s also at least one recommendation for what to listen to next. And then there’s the tags. These tags categorize the podcast so you can find other podcasts tagged with the same thing.

Do you like single narrator podcasts? There’s a tag for that. Do you enjoy ensemble casts? There’s a tag for that. Do you like podcasts about searching for lost loved ones? There’s a tag for that. Are you really into stories set in space? Yep! There’s a tag! Are podcasts with lgbt characters a must? That’s tagged too.

This blog also encourages submissions and suggestions. If there’s a podcast you love that isn’t posted, or if you think there ought to be a tag for a common genre/plot/setting that’s not already listed, send it in!
