Why did I beg for relief

When what I feel is made by design?

Why do I question what is inevitable?

Why do I collapse in sorrow for what is tomorrow?

I feel complete yet unfinished

I cannot ask for more since what I want is ungivable.

The world

And it’s sound

Sometimes is a prison

And a haven

The noise

That surrounds

Encompasses

Consumes

All that’s craven

Men weep

Women scream

Our odds

Uneven

But the sound

And the landscape

All remain

Even through grieving.
