Pokemon headcanon that once Absol are studied and people realize they prevent disasters instead of causing them, particularly dangerous workplaces get themselves a workplace Absol and it also decreases accidents.
Construction sites and fishing ships and factories will have one that pretty much just lazes about until it just gets up howling one day and knocks a dude down. They almost never figure out what would have happened but they're always like "yes absol thank you absol I am so grateful to be on the floor right now. Can I offer you a treat in this trying time"

Dragon-type Categories
Because of the fact that there is so much variety among Dragon-type Pokémon, fanciers and enthusiasts have taken to dividing these Pokémon further into categories based on physical traits and characteristics. These categories are most commonly used among clubs and breeder’s associations.
Draconic
This category makes up the majority of Dragon-types. Sometimes just referred to as dragons (specifically with a lowercase. If it’s capitalized it’s most likely referring to Dragon-type Pokémon as a whole), these Pokémon are what most people think of when they hear the word “Dragon-type”. Most of the Pokémon in this category are fierce, territorial, and stubborn. They are often reptilian in appearance and almost always have tough scales. The Pokémon in this category are as follows:
- Dragonite
- Flygon
- Bagon and Salamence
- Dialga
- Rayquaza
- Gible, Gabite, Garchomp
- Axew, Fraxure, Haxorus
- Druddigon
- Deino, Zweilous, Hydreigon
- Zekrom
- Kyurem
- Tyrunt and Tyrantrum
- Noivern
- Turtonator
- Drampa
- Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o
- Flapple
- Appletun
- Hydrapple
- Dreepy, Drakloak, Dragapult
- Cyclizar
- Frigibax, Arctibax, Baxcalibur
- Roaring Moon
- Koraidon
Avian
The Dragon-types in this category have feathers instead of scales and as such, aren’t considered reptiles. They share many of the same characteristics with bird Pokémon. These Pokémon include:
- Altaria
- Latias
- Latios
- Reshiram
Aquatic
The Pokémon in this category, aside from being Dragons, sometimes have a Water typing as well. While this isn’t true for all of the Pokémon listed below, they can still often be found near or in water. They are the following:
- Dratini and Dragonair
- Kingdra
- Palkia
- Dragalge
- Tatsugiri
- Walking Wake
Miscellaneous
The Pokémon in this category are essentially the odd ones out. The Pokémon that didn’t quite fit in the other categories. They are as follows:
- Alolan Exeggutor
- Vibrava
- Shelgon
- Goomy, Sliggoo, Goodra
- Noibat
- Zygarde
- Guzzlord
- Necrozma
- Naganadel
- Applin and Dipplin
- Dracozolt
- Dracovish
- Duraludon and Archaludon
- Eternatus
- Regidrago
- Gouging Fire
- Raging Bolt
False Dragons
These are Pokémon that often have some Dragon heritage and may have even had ancestors that were Dragon-types at some point, but despite sharing certain characteristics they do not have the Dragon typing themselves. They are sometimes grouped in with Dragon-type Pokémon due to their similarities. These Pokémon include:
- Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard
- Gyarados
- Aerodactyl
- Tyranitar
- Sceptile
- Milotic

Really bad edit done by me!
Image text reads: [I bring a sort of "All pokémon are valuable regardless of their physical or behavioral traits" vibe to Rotomblr that competitive trainers don't really like]

A friend of mine went out of town, so I'm looking after their Houndoom until they get back. He is a joyful beast, but I have yet to meet another Pokémon with such sadness in their eyes.

As an artist how do you make pokemon crossbreeds? since I am thinking about making some.
Thanks for asking! I'd love an excuse to talk about the process.
1. I find the pokemon I want to make a crossbreed of. I have a full Google docs list to keep track of names and ones I want to do and all of that, since a lot of the fun for me I'd coming up with names for them
2. 99% of the time, the art is traced. I used to draw earlier crossbreeds freely, but they were supposed to be quick design practice and I would end up spending too long on them, so I started tracing them
3. I love crossbreed art, and while I don't want to throw anyone under the bus, I always felt like a lot of the crossbreeds felt "too-fusion like." What I try my best to do is find small traits to fit in with the existing design, while not changing it too much. While I sometimes let go of that for the sake of fun (when I made the slurpuff and raochu crossbreed), I usually keep that ruleset. An example would be this Cadenza Lapras (primarina father)
Tumblr media
Lapras already has spikes, so to make it look more like Primarina, I made them sharper, like the spikes on Primarina's tail. It also has a more pointed snout, like Primarina.
And this sprinting scorbunny too (yamper father). While a dog and rabbit aren't that similar, both yamper and scorbunny have the same yellow, pointed ears, eyes, and other similar features. So, I made the scorbunny's fluff connect like yamper, gave it the paw markings of yamper, turned its tail into that of yamper, and made it stick its tongue out like yamper.
Tumblr media
I recommend keeping the color scheme similar, but that can be difficult when they have wildly different color schemes. What I try to do then to make up for it is add more traits of the father pokemon, so whole it looks similar at first glance, you can tell it's different. I did that with Clanging Noivern (jangmo-o father)
Tumblr media
If the pokemon seems too different, they finding smaller traits to use. Right now, I'm making a Gastrodon with a Phantump father and they seemed hard, but I was able to find similar traits; such as the wisps in the designs and making their shell look like a tree a bit.
4. Other than that, process follows art stuff. Sketch over the official art to add differing traits, and then outline it in black. My outlines are messy since again, these are more breaks for my other art (I have an Instagram where I post some of my art btw, I don't post much art on my main tumblr), but outline whatever way you want
5. Do what you want! These are just the rules I follow that I made for myself! These are just supposed to be fun stuff and shouldn't be polices
6. Send me the crossbreeds. I want to see them
7. Hope these helped! I'm not the best at explaining my art process

(@wingsofachampion) Hiya! What's your favorite thing about humans? -Tropius
Uhhhhh…. Not something I really thought about tbh. I guess I like how different two humans can be to each other compared to Pokémon. Even if we can be different sizes or have different Tera Types or maybe slightly different markings, the same species of Pokémon all look pretty much the same. But humans can all look so different and yet still be considered the same creature! Even when they are identical it’s super rare! ⚡

Pokemon Crossbreeds: Whimpering
(//Name from @adrothyohanan)
Whimpering is the name for members of the Yamper line whose fathers are members of the Sobble line. The breed got its name because the Yamper become more emotional and skiddish, making them whimper a lot more. The breed isn't very common due to their biological indifferences, but many people love this breed because they find the Yamper cute and the Boltund useful. Despite being pure electric types, the breed does well in water and are very good swimmers.
Yamper
Tumblr media
Whimpering Yamper gain more "droopy" features. Their ears become pointed downwards, their tail becomes more curved, and their eyes are usually sad and wet. They gain the cheek marks of Sobble, and their white underbelly shortens to their chest, just like Sobble's. They also gain a little extra fur in their head that resembles the scales of Sobble.
Like stated before, the breed whimpers a lot, which can be a bit much for beginning trainers. They also tend to be more needy and clingy. You know those videos of those dogmons whining after their trainer stops petting them for 2.5 seconds? That's pretty much Whimpering Yamper. They can be a bit harder to train for battling due to their skiddish nature, but they're still just as strong as purebred Yamper!
Boltund
Tumblr media
My personal favorite of this breed, mostly because I think it's yellow eyes are pretty.
Whimpering Boltund (yes, I know the name doesn't fit, but for simplicity, breeders keep the same breed name if it's in the same evo line) gain the traits of Inteleon, such as the longer tail and patterns. The frill on Inteleon's head becomes fur for Boltund, which trails down its back like Inteleon's does.
The breed is known for being cunning and very precise and accurate with its attacks, making them a popular battle breed. They are smart and are able to learn and use tools, ad well as having an eye for when something is wrong, which also makes them popular service dog breeds.
//My designs can be used by anyone if you credit me for the original design! Also, no one asked, but here's one I drew back in August before I even made the art here lol. This one isn't traced

Pokémon Contest Types
There are many different things a Pokémon can be judged for in various contest, depending where they are being shown in. Here are some of the ones I consider the most popular:
Coreographic. The most common contest of them all, usually called just contest or Hoenn contest. They are original from the region of Hoenn but smaller contests also take place on other regions. Trainers are called coordinators and their Pokémon are judged based on their moves and coreographies.
Showcase. Originated on the Kalos region, many of the bigger events are still women-only. Usually very fancy and expensive. Trainers are called performers and their Pokémon are judged on creativity throughout different phases.
Conformity. The one I usually judge. Less of a hobby and more of a way for breeders to prove the quality of their Pokémon. Trainers are called handlers and their Pokémon are judged on how well they fit the standard of their kind, both appearance-wise and function-wise.
Beauty. Participants can be professional breeders or trainers who participate for hobby. Originated in the Johto region. Trainers are normally called breeders (even when they are not), and their Pokémon are judged on their appearance and wellbeing.

A Trainer was killed recently by a wild Hydreigon and just…for Arc’s sake, I wish people had more common sense. This was not a random or unprovoked attack. The area that the Hydreigon lived in is closed off to the public. There are signs posted up and a fence that blocks the trail leading to its territory, yet the Trainer still entered, most likely to try to catch a powerful Pokémon. What he didn’t know is that this was a female Hydreigon with a clutch of eggs. Naturally, she felt that her nest was being threatened and retaliated. Is the situation tragic? Absolutely. A young Trainer lost his life, his parents lost a son, the Sylveon he had with him was not only injured in the attack, but lost its Trainer and will possibly be rehomed, along with his other Pokémon. The Hydreigon is now considered a man killer and will be euthanized, despite the fact that she was only protecting her eggs. Then of course, you have the idiots on social media who don’t know the full story saying that all Hydreigon are dangerous and should be killed on sight. These are the same people who won’t say a word about the Dragonite who have done the exact same thing for the exact same reason. Dragon-types are territorial. They are dangerous, especially in the wild. Hydreigon are far from being the only Dragons that cause injuries or deaths. This wouldn’t happen at all if people would just stay out of their territory.
