A righteously angry Easter envelope of righteously angry notes from Ma. To mom Easter is NOT about forgiving sins.

She's not going to forgive slave holders, circumcisers, book banners, or the Governor of Iowa, Kimmie Reynolds.

No letter in there and I hope the note about "a good son... will not allow people to insult his mother will not let people criticize her or treat her badly." I don't let people insult my mom!

A couple of encouraging/supportive envelopes and a holiday card from Ma as I prepare for minor surgery.

"Don't become a victim of medical neglect," says one envelope. Of course, this is hard to prevent while under anesthesia.

A Salman Rushdie quote: "Live on, survive, for the Earth gives forth wonders."

An Erich Fromm quote: "Human passions transform a man from a mere thing into a hero, into a a being that in spite of tremendous handicaps tries to make sense of life."

And then on the card Ma writes, "Paint the town red!" Hopefully not in blood.

Never know what Ma is reading or the knowledge she picks up. In the December 1980 issue of Black Belt magazine I found her note on the first page of the article "The Art of Striking."

"When testes are struck correctly."

It reminds me of the advice my Grand Master gave us about avoiding a street fight: "You never know what the other guy knows."

Such a horrible way to die. It takes 3 days hanging on the cross to die.

You know Pope Benedict’s death and funeral didn’t go by without comments from Ma. Here are a few about this Nazi rally.

Mom on cursing:

I curse out the Mother Fuck’n popes a lot. Pope John Paul II, Pope Nazi Ratzi in particular, Pope Bergolio, and Founding Fathers.

How many times did u curse today?

Parents inherit it from kid$.

I bought a $25.00 ring at Saint Vincees yesterday and I heard a woman say “That lil old lady got it before me.” I cursed her under my breath. I ain’t no lady. Nor am I a housewife. I may be broke - I ain’t broken!
